lmao at people in here not understanding Tony's reaction to watching his parents getting brutally beaten to death by the same guy three feet away from him

GAF isn't just full of ripped dudes with eight-inch dicks, they're also sages with complete mastery of their emotions

I'm guessing the going for legs line was a reference from a comic but I wouldn't know.

A lot of the dialogue and words are carefully chosen and calculated in order to resonate with the comic lore as well as contemporary culture. Tony cutting Parker's origin story off is precisely how the public feels.

I really have to commend Disney on this part, throughout all their properties they know what people like/want and deliver it in a quality way.

Also, Bucky didn't try to diffuse the situation, either. At no point does he really try to empathize with Tony and own up to what he did. I just felt like they wanted all three of them to fight and that was the best way for it to happen.

Bucky's brain has been in and out of a blender for seventy years, during which time he's had no meaningful social contact with other humans aside from murdering them against his own will. I'm pretty sure his social skills have taken a nosedive.

Like, even if they remove all the HYDRA brainwashing, he's not going to magically be a perfectly healthy and well-adjusted person again. His head's full of fuck.

Please let's not use the BvS defense argument. Everybody understands why he did what he did (or at least tried).

Tony and more-so Bucky were the victims in this movie, trying to argue otherwise is dumb. Anyone who thinks Tony wasn't justified in going berserk at the end have no empathy.

He's a giant hypocrite who went against everything he was advocating the entire movie by just being there in the first place. Fuck Tony Stark and his ridiculous over reactions to everything.

Ok, so I'm a small ass dude.

If you put me in a similar scenario, where I find out that:

Someone murdered my parents
They're three feet away
My friend lied about it

I'm fucking throwing hands, even though I know I'm probably gonna lose. Tony's reaction is pretty damn normal.

This statement just confuses me about your standard of logic and morality. Though perhaps you're just jesting.

You have yo watch the entire trilogy to understand what's happening in cap's head and heart when you talk about bucky.

Bucky is his best friend and childhood friend
Bucky was the guy that protects him from bullies all the time
Bucky was the guy that tries to help him to laid with the girls
Bucky was the guy that was there when his mom dies and Steve was all alone (bucky wanted steve to move on to his house)
Bucky was the guy that followed captain america unconditionally
Bucky was the guy that died for captain america.

The "he's my friend" can also be read as "fuck the world, i wont leave alone my friend twice". Steve Rogers put his friendship first over his duties as an avenger and... well... a captain lol.

he was gonna shoot him in the face with a mini missile

Not to mention watching your dad's face get caved in repeatedly and then your mother strangled.

FUCK that was brutal.

Poor Sam. But I think Bucky would need the mantle more for the whole redemption thing. But either way, they both need to be on screen together more often.

You could at least recognize me

And also grkhrkhrhkrhkrhrk
Time to read too much into this! :D

The whole movie (and he previous one) was about Steves bromance with Bucket. If Steve gets shot with a time travelling bullet it wont be Sam who picks up the shield to redeem himself and honor his friend.

just feels like they're setting up sam to be cap. when sam said "this isn't the real fight" during the airport battle was when I had that thought.

he was gonna shoot him in the face with a mini missile

Yes he was trying to kill him.

Because he just saw footage of this dude murdering his parents and his friend lied to him about it.

It may not be right, because Bucky was brainwashed, but it makes sense for him to go for the killshot, he just a fucking double whammy dropped on him. He doesn't even try to kill cap, he tries to disable him and go for Bucky.

I don't see them killing/changing Cap unless they have some kind of contractual issues in terms of actors. Captain Dorito is a phenomenal box office draw, the studio would throw a fit.

I'm fully on board with Bucky getting the shield at this point. Have come to quite like the character over the three movies. Although I have no need to see Evans Cap ending.

So what are we thinking Cap gets obliterated/sacrifices himself at the end of Infinity War Pt 1 and Bucky gets the call up?

At least until they bring back Steve in the last half of Part 2 :p

Sam and Bucky taking up the mantel make sense for MCU.
Bucky gets the round shield as a symbol of forgiveness from Stark and Sam gets whatever new shield Wakanda make for Cap.

Sam needs it more to get some damn color in his outfit.

I never said it didn't make sense for Tony to react that way. I'm just saying it's fucked up.

Look, Bucky wasn't responsible for the death of the Stark parents, but you've got to read the room and prostrate yourself in apology anyway. Not doing so almost cost Bucky his life. Everyone in the thread is giving great explanations of the situation. Bucky should have tried one. Instead, his silence essentially tells Tony "deal with it, idiot."

Reading this thread a bit I'm surprised people are calling into question Stark's actions during the end fight. All the thing listed here considered...

- Watching his dad's face being caved in to death
- Watching his mother get strangled to death
- The dude who did so is 3 feet away from him

If it were me I would be out for blood.

I enjoyed Civil War.....but it was weird. First off the theater sound was far too low for some reason. Was hard to feel pumped about what was happening. Second i could literally pinpoint the moment where me and people in the audience suddenly gave a fuck and that was the car seat joke. After that suddenly everything started being entertaining. First hour and 1/2 of the movie was tough to get into.

Yar, Steve's virtue is also his flaw. He basically could look pretty contemptible to anyone not behind his shield.

No fucking way an apology defuses that moment.

I'm not even sure if iron man wouldn't have tried to kill bucky, even if cap told him beforehand. Dude was extremely unstable the whole movie

Throwing a sustained murderous tantrum in the face of all logic is only normal for selfish children with poor impulse control. I'm not saying that it was an out of character thing for him to do, just that he sucks for doing it. I could understand him attacking Bucky after seeing him murder his parents, but at no point does he come to his senses. He relentlessly tries to kill someone he knows was brainwashed, and he's still acting like a baby after Steve beats him.
