While the article is not wrong in saying that her looks had a lot to do with her getting the job or that the success of Star Wars greatly helped her 2nd career (he doesn't actually slam her as a writer) and it's certainly right that looks play a huge role in Hollywood success, especially for women, it's written in a really douchey way (especially the title).
Also, just because this is the way things are right now it doesn't makes it right.
There's a bigger discussion to be had about lookism in film, which I think is somewhat defensible (at least to a certain degree), but at the same time we must recognize that it often function, especially in broader society, as a way to hold women back.
But honestly, I don't this article is a worthy starting point for such important discussion.

FWIW, I think she was quite bad in the OT, but Lucas was able to get terrible performances from really great actors so I don't really hold it against her that much.
