Guys it's really simple to deal with women at work:

- Don't flirt.
- Don't interact with them unless it's necessary.
- Stay away from them as much as you can in or outside work.
- Never ever be alone with them in a room.

Is it going to be nice?
No but getting your life destroyed by a crazy woman is much worse.

This is what they want, they may realize they don't like it at all, but it's their choice.

In the unlucky event where you have to go through some bullshit, never apologize if you didn't do anything wrong and and lawyer up immediately.
Don't wait a week, definitely not a year.

To her credit as a upstanding feminist, she doesn't seem to be among the ones that let Deen shove their heads into the toilet during sex.

It's just weird that she didn't feel the urge to step forward and denounce the serial abuser when it was Deen's time to get #metoo'd.
Avellone with the creepy sexting, though? Fuck that guy.

I apologize for sharing this rather explicit image, but it puts the double-faced hypocrisy and blatant double-standard at full display while giving some much needed context to Avellone's messages.

Maybe don't publish private conversations instigating a social media witch hunt, if you have much bigger skeletons in the closet. Considering the promiscuous personality of the accuser and the numerous spicy messages she sent to the accused over social media, I find it hard to believe that Chris' messages were totally unsolicited or in any way harmful.

In absolutely no way does my comment intent to shame those who do porn, but if you engage in this kind of sex-work you don't get to ruin other people's lives for their flirtatious behavior. I'm also not surprised to see that the accuser has friendly ties with another well-known social media instigator, Zoe Quinn. The same person who accused Alec Holowka of abuse over Twitter and drove him to suicide himself shortly after. How is it that the same kind of drama seems to always follow behind these people?

These people are absolutely toxic. They virtue signal over social media while being the worst kind of people themselves. They are ending other people's careers at the tip of a tweet, yet are still allowed to strive within the gaming industry while crying harassment. They strive on drama in order to elbow others out of the industry while their vicious social media circle grants them absolute immunity.

It goes to show that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Man, if we only opened history books and read this was a thing in many cultures for thousands of years, and not try and cover that up with "but the patriarchy" when it came to shining a spotlight on those toxic types. Cities burned over shit like this at one time when allowed to fester. The power of vindictive deceit and persuasion.

I did investigations at work years ago for sexual harrassment. We had secret CCTVs to corroborate actions. Of the nearly 30 cases of sexual harrassment said by women, NONE were founded. Never believe women should be the default. Also the snowflakeyness of being traumatised after getting a dick pic is just too much.

Angry Joe had the best approach and response, glad Avellone's fighting back against this shit, but it was too long in coming, he won't bounce back even if the legal route succeeds - no one on social media will care.

NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT AVOWED.

He responded to a work-related or non-sexual text by talking in explicit sexual terms about her intimate body parts. He himself recognized at the time that it was wildly inappropriate for the level of their relationship and said "I owe you like a hundred million apologies". Luckily this wasn't a colleague or employee in the industry.
Huh? Are you trying to sabotage your own point?

Oh wait, you got banned.

I wish this thread was about keeping up with Chris Avelone's case instead of obsessively trying to discredit one of the accusers because she did porn.

Not only is that a huge strawman, it also sets the stage for some strange and ridiculous pearl-clutching comments I'm seeing here.
Doing porn isn't an open invitation to get unsolicited graphical sex offers by anyone at any time.

There's so much to disentangle from Chris Avelone's case that having this thread dying by that hill seems just stupid to me.

Which is exactly why nobody is trying to "discredit her for doing porn". Go read my initial comment again instead of complaining about strawmen while erecting a huge frikkin' strawman yourself!

So you're clutching your pearls about something i don't agree with?!
That makes me want to clutch mine!

(see how that works?)

Her porn past is not the issue here, the issue is what us french call "indignation à géométrie variable" (indignation with variable geometry i guess).
Avelone texts were greatly inappropriate but i don't think they would have traumatised someone who did porn with one of the filthiest dude in this industry.
So why does she "play trauymatised"? Maybe because she thinks she can gain from it, which is a tier one asshole move when sexual harassment is such a prevalent problem in our societies.

tl;dr : she's a selfish cunt who's trying to profit from a really serious societal problem and by doing so disparages the problem and the ones who suffer from it.
