Colin Trevorrow Exits Episode 9

Calm down everyone. We all have our different opinions of the Star Wars saga. There is no true list of "best" to "not as good as the others" Star Wars movies.

Everything before 1997 is fantastic.

Everything 1997 and beyond, is not.

Har.
So you're including R1 and the sequel trilogy in that beyond?
I'm calm.

I just don't understand when someone goes through the trouble of making it as clear as they can that it is a personal opinion, that somehow must still be kneejerk defended against by citing irrelevant data.

Maybe I should bold it all in red next time.
If you were calm you would have ignored his post and kept at it.

Nevertheless it isn't my place to correct you so my apologies.

EDIT: Then again Surfinn is still bringing it up.

Yo. You might be butthurt about our previous conversation but there's no need to try and jump on my posts, especially after I said that it wasn't my intention to discredit someone's opinion.

dayuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum

well time go watch my japanese cartoons and reflect on my life choices

weren't Trevorrow and his buddy writing the script for IX? And he asked Johnson to add something to 8 to set up 9?
I wonder how much, if any, they keep of his script

Are people still pretending that TFA is a bad movie? I can understand if someone was underwhelmed or somewhat disappointed, but to call it a bad movie on a narrative or technical level is absurd.

Also, to suggest Abrams doesn't "get" Star Wars is ridiculous. People literally accuse TFA of being a ripoff of the original movie because they're so similar.

Just because you echo the plot points of a movie doesn't mean you "get it," not that I think JJ doesn't get Star Wars. JJ did a great job creating likable new characters but he took shortcuts, just like he did with the Star Trek movies.

It would have been nice to have a movie that wasn't about blowing up a space station.

I have the same problem when ever I discuss how mediocre Avatar is.

Star Wars is serious business

And I'd watch that EP9

I'd work really hard on it, I swear. It'd be unlike any other Star Wars movie because I would have it entirely on the Enterprise this time

BronsonLee would probably call it Episode IX: The Fast and The Wookieous.

Speed kills.
So does space.

Naw.

You're a Philly guy repping the Vikes.

I don't even know what to do with that information.

That the Eagles are trash and I've been ride or die with the Vikes since I was 10

There are very few directors out there I'd give this to. I think CT would have made an alright movie. I still think Favreau is the best choice for Star Wars. He gets fun and uses iconic imagery beautifully and understates it.

Too many directors out there have too much of their own style and it is distracting to Star Wars. I enjoyed Rogue One but Gareth Edwards kept using lenses with really shallow depth of field what is not in the style of Star Wars.

You can't put Fincher, Dennis, Edgar Wright, or other personality based filmmakers in this role. They have to know how to disappear and serve the story first.

I have skipped everything but the first page to come and say whew. We really need to know who'll be writing and directing the final product, though. Cool with Rian staying on, if not another good director…

Not surprising especially when you present it as consensus like this post.

I don't do that.

I don't either. I don't think we have to tag posts as opinion or waste words trying to make sure everyone understands we're speaking for ourselves when we clearly are.

In other words I was agreeing with your post while also being snarky because we've argued about Avatar before.

What the hell happened in here?

I dunno, Bobby brought his fucking APA handbook to the thread and I'm here to stop him from activating Skynet

You had one job

You're fucking fired

WHAT man I don't see anything wrong here

teehee

Henceforth "Bronson bumb" will come to mean "bumping a billion-dollar franchise down to a hundred-dollar franchise".

I call this The Tronening

Rocky ain't no Vikings fan.

Rocky doesn't like football, too many concussions

How many Brinks trucks has Lucasfilm backed up to Rian Johnson's house? Over/under is 4 1/2.

Of course there is:

1. Ewok: Caravan of Courage
2-8 The live action movies
9. The Clone Wars

Class was starting and I blurted out "Holy shit!", then texted my friends and girlfriend lol

It's pretty big news. Pretty much a guarantee that EP9 will be improved.

You held the keys

Then locked yourself out.

Did we? I honestly don't remember as I haven't have a deep discussion of that film since it released.

I posted a lot about story stuff (and what I thought would be cool in a sequel) for the first couple of months but not much more after that.

A Star Wars thread without at least 3 fights is considered a dull affair.
