It needs to be someone enthusiastic that doesn't mind mocking himself.
Urban (and Bob-o) are way too serious.

Corso's great, although it's a bit sad seeing him on TV post-stroke. Holtz is just awful, though.LosDaddie said:Honestly, ESPN should just fire Holtz and Corso, moreso Holtz though.

the contract to which Kelly agreed earlier this season throws up a couple stumbling blocks.
First, it carries a $4 million buyout, which is a lot of scratch for anybody, no matter how well heeled.
And, a clause in the contract stipulates that Kelly must give Oregon 15 days written notice before leaving, and further stipulates he cannot leave during the regular season or before a postseason bowl game in which Oregon is a participant.
Athletic director Tom Osborne told the Lincoln Journal Star that he has not given Pelini permission to speak to Miami about the job, and Pelini says he didn't seek permission to interview for another job. Pelini wouldn't otherwise comment publicly on the report.

You decide: Miami or NebraskaNinja Scooter said:Isn't Nebraska to Miami at best a lateral move? Miami is almost hovering on Notre Dame levels of irrelavence now that everyone and their mom poaches South Florida for talent and they don't have exclusivity on that region. I mean, I guess you could argue that the Big 10 could be on an upswing if Ohio St, Wisconsin and Michigan St. keep at their pace, and Michigan ever gets their shit together, so it might be easier to win in the ACC but I don't why Pelini would want to go.

Yeah, a Leach offense with South Florida athletes would be ludicrously good. The whole thing is predicated upon speed and quickness, they'd out-athlete virtually everyone on their schedule.ConfusingJazz said:I believe he lives in the keys already, it makes too much sense, Miami!

Have you ever seen Spurrier talk on TV the past few years? Now that he's all humble and whatnot he's awkward as hell now that he's not making "you can't spell Citrus without UT" jokesToxicAdam said:Meyer is like the polar opposite of Corso. That's a bad idea.

I think what finally broke him was when they made him stop voting for Duke.ElectricBlue187 said:Have you ever seen Spurrier talk on TV the past few years? Now that he's all humble and whatnot he's awkward as hell now that he's not making "you can't spell Citrus without UT" jokes
It seems like people are leery of him because of IM Hawkins, but I think he'd be a great hire. If he's willing to leave.bachikarn said:Apparently Petersen is being interviewed by UF. He is Meyer's preferred guy to replace him, but obviously Foley is the one in charge of the search.
I would if he would come if we offered. I hear he likes it in Boise for personal reasons.
Not really. Tech never had great speed any of the years Leach was here, and none of the guys that came out of the offense that people know (ex Crabtree, Welker, Amendola, etc.) were known for speed. Quickness issue bigger part of it, but it's mostly just about execution; there is little to no room for improvisation. The actual number of plays in his offense was remarkably low, like single digits, but there were a lot of formations each play was run out of to disguise it; after that it was just reading the D and doing exactly what you were told to do.KingGondo said:Yeah, a Leach offense with South Florida athletes would be ludicrously good. We're talking about a dude who recruited great athletes to Lubbock, Texas. The recruits would love to play in that kind of system.
I bet Leach was bummed when Skip Holtz got the USF job, though. He was probably DYING to coach in a stadium with a goddamn pirate ship attached.![]()

Too bad they're hanging onto whats-his-name for no apparent reason.
Despite his offensive production, he was never a great recruiter or fundraiser, he's incredibly stubborn, and he's got one of the most odd personalities you've ever seen and that really doesn't make him a good fit for a lot of places (I could never see him anywhere in the SEC, for instance). There's a reason he got run out of town in Lubbock when he's the winningest coach in school history and a reason why he never got any job offer to go elsewhere even though he was sending his agent around every off-season practically begging for interviews. He really needs to find just the right fit.Ninja Scooter said:I don't think Florida wants anything to do with Leach but Miami absolutely should. I heard he's had health problems, and you always look like an ass when you criticize someone with them, but I never really enjoyed his insightRandy5554 said:Lee Corso and the Gameday guys were really tearing up just now as Corso won some award. Looks like he really may be on the way out.
He had a big stroke two seasons ago, almost took his life. It was shocking that he was able to make it back in time for the season to start.Randy5554 said:Lee Corso and the Gameday guys were really tearing up just now as Corso won some award. Looks like he really may be on the way out.
Exactly. Pelini going to Miami is just wishful thinking in Miami's part. They have zero fanbase and nothing to offer outside of recruiting and everyone in the mother competes for that same recruiting base. Nebraska's Football money dwarf's Miami's.bigtroyjon said:Nebraka's AD revenue is going to be about double Miami's once they are in the big 10. Don't really see how Miami could offer anywhere close to the same amount of money or facilities. Seems to be all talk and not really any substance.

Thank you Jesus!New Colorado coach Jon Embree is not wasting any time introducing himself to the Pac-12.
After hiring two assistants away from Arizona earlier this week, it appears he found his new offensive line coach at California, hiring Steve Marshall away from the Bears.

Despite some reports to the contrary am told by sources close to Tommy Tuberville that he still is going hard after the Miami vacancy.
