Heh, who the hell is David Stanley?

When did Nick Fairley start Channelling David Stanley? :lol :lol

Hahahaa, the assistant AD recieving a letter from him on live TV, denying he wrote it, "wait, let me put on my glasses" :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

Payments sent with SMU Stationary :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol

That scene of all the other coaches and recruiters standing around the parking lot talking to the players. I wonder if that happened at USC this past year?

I feel terrible as a Texas fan. Things do not look bright at all. And if anything they have been reporting about Mack recently is true then damnnit. Gonna be a terrible year of football next year for us.

A player from the "return to Football" SMU team: "We weren't big, but we were slow"

That line was awesome.

Also, holy fuck at the University of Houston. At least Notre Dame was classy enough to start running out of bounds. Scoring 95 and throwing for almost 1000 yards? That's slimy as fuck.

I swear, it reads like a great monologue joke.

I remember hearing about that Houston game. That Forest Gregg refuses to forgive Houston for it.

95 points :lol :lol

Holy Shit, STEVE BARTMEN Movie!!!!!!!!!!!

This is also why you will never see the death penalty, not even the NCAA could see what the fallout would be which killed off a school program and a conference.

Houston back then was just a piece of shit school, they defined the term of running up the score. I would like to think UM helped destroyed that school back in the day

I hope I don't have to wait 30 years for the SCam Newton story: How one father killed the SEC and destroyed the richest conference in college football.

Edit: This closing montage is almost prophetic. It's like Auburn, Cam, you're next!

I don't know, I'm laughing my ass off at the complaint of "NCAA Killing off SMU for 30 years" when just earlier they brought up that SMU had all of 3 winning seasons between 1946 to 1976. Smells like SMU is supposed to be not very good, and that say, 5 years after the Death Penalty was over, that SMU was just playing to their intended level. SMU was not supposed to be good.

Pretty much. This wasn't the NCAA killing a Texas/USC/Michigan.

This would be like if Wazzu suddenly started getting the best recruits in the Pac 10 year in and year out.

We need to come up with a name change that fits the acronym of SEC. Conference is starting to get loaded with Saban Disciples.

Saban
E
Conference

What to put in for E???

Always liked the little comments under the header at Shaggy Bevo:

"what the fuck am I going to do with 100 boom mf'r tshirts?"

:lol

Pretty much. That staff at LSU where he won the MNC now has head coaches at FSU, Bama, Tennessee, and Florida. Pretty incredible.

Auburn fans going on a rampage against those who diss the war eagle nation?

I figured there must have been something to bring it to a head to prompt him to say something like this: "Too bad the base is this bad."

Yeah. We've been a bit high-strung this year. Well, more than usual at least.

One rumor of Holgerson (OSU OC) and Smart (Bama DC) following WM. Other is Major and UT's DBs coach.

I am hoping for the latter as the former would be scary as all fuck.

Might be as premature as the Texas guys at ShaggyBevo, in denial of Smart to DC at Florida. Latteral Move, coaching under his friend who until now, was at similiar jobs. Smart's next job's gonna be a HC somewhere, which could still be this offseason.

So now we need a Defensive coordinator, an offensive coordinator, and some new recruits to replace the ones that follow Muschamp to Florida.

....and I thought this year was a rebuilding year:lol :lol :lol

kill me.

How many coaching vacancies are there at Texas right now?

I'm gonna say 3, assuming Applewhite leaves. Which I hear from friends whose parents work at UT sports admin is almost a done deal. The friend's dad said he felt snubbed.

Edit: I feel like we absolutely got fleeced and its mostly Mack's fault. My friends say we are gonna be alright, but where are we gonna find people to fill the second and third most important parts of a coaching staff so quickly? Mack's gotta go through a ton of resumes, hire them, and make sure they have some sort of recruiting power. Fuck, Muschamp was good at all that.

There's the info that Mack hasn't really been involved wholeheartedly in recruiting the last few years, that it was mostly the assistants doing the work.

Well Mack is the highest paid coach in college football, maybe he should work/recruit like one. He struck gold finding 3-star colt McCoy, but Greg Davis recruited our current QB who was the highest rated hs QB in the country a couple years ago. I think Mack could and should be doing most of the recruiting again.

I'd heard that. Which makes the argument that we will lose recruits to Muschamp all the more potent.

Y'all won't lose many kids. The kids Mack (or whoever) gets to go to UT go because they grew up dreaming of being Longhorns. It's why he closes an entire class a year before signing day. It might affect 1 or 2 guys but I doubt there will be much fallout. What this does mean is that UF will probably keep a few guys who may have come our way instead. Nick Waisome in particular.

I expect Randy Shannon will be UT's new DC. Miami's recruiting has been down but that is mostly a result of him trying to change the overall character of the program. I don't think there will be much of a drop-off personally. Have heart, UT fans!

Not "really" a bragging point, but highest paid coach at the moment is Saban, somewhere around 6 million. Barring Les Miles "$1 more" clause.

I was in NYC today and walked past the Best Buy Theater a couple of times. There were tons of Auburn fans around Times Square. Lots of "War Eagle!" chants.

I guess they might as well enjoy the Cam Lovefest while it lasts, because it's inevitably going to take a very drastic turn for the worse.

So Tejas fans, is Applewhite any good? Seems like most Texas fans are pissed he is leaving, but I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea of an OC with so little experience. We already went through that the last 2 years with Addazio.

FML if Holgorsen leaves. He has a chance to coach the best offense in the nation next season, with two potential Heisman candidates (Weeden and Blackmon).

I think he holds out for a head coaching position anyway, (which could still mean Pitt), but I'm still holding out hope he sticks around for one more year.

The funny part about this is that Jack Pardee coached that UH team. At the end of the year, the Oilers fired Jerry Glannville and hired Pardee. Glannville is immediately hired by the Falcons.

Of course the very first game of the next year is HOU-ATL. ATL wins, runs up the score, Glannville grabs the game ball from the official as time winds down, runs off the the field w/o shaking Pardee's hand, and in his press conference says he's sending the game ball to Forrest Gregg.

I realize this is from a USC blog so its a bit slanted but what's up with this shit NCAA?
A lot of innuendo and not much actual info.

Also, this:
McKnight was suspended because he was driving his girlfriends car.
shouldn't have any bearing on anything. McKnight was suspended by USC, because they were gunshy and because they couldn't afford to look like any shenanigans were happening at that point.

The meltdowns on Shaggy Bevo right now are pretty entertaining.

At least they're keeping their
sick
sense of humor through this.

Just finished reading through Shaggy Bevo.

I wasn't super excited about Muschamp, but after reading those posts I feel like I should be.
