When my friend made it, I had no idea that they took out most of the bread on the inside :lol

At least he piled on the extra turkey for me

Man, sounds like it is starting to get downright Sooner-ish up in Iowa.

pfft, still need a rape and a couple of shootings for Ferentz to catch Switzer.

I can only guess this will need to some alternative names for the new divisions.

Thus the starting to. They can still get a couple more felonies in there.

So that puts them as front runners for Fullmer Cup?
Hope so, but they might avoid it by Orsen's stupid rule of Offseason only.

Hopefully I'll get as a birthday gift, Kirby Smart staying at Alabama, and Gus Malzahn going to Kent Ball State Tech.

The worst part of 90% of your staff being fired or quitting?

No inside sources to leak stuff to the interwebs :(

Nah, it still works. They are leaders in team drug use. Or legends, I already forgot which one.

K.Smart would be, uh, smart to stay at Bama. Going to UF and working under another defensive-minded coach would still leave open the question of "Is it Smart, or the HC?". I mean, unless Saban is a complete asshole and Smart doesn't want to work for him.

Mark Stoops made a great move coming to FSU. There's no questions it's his defense now.

Pretty much.

Though, Smart's been with Saban for 7 some odd years. That's a long time to stay with someone who's an Asshole. Unless that's just the perceived reputation.

True, but going to UF would be a complete lateral move for Smart. Maybe he's OK with that if it means getting out from under an asshole boss (something I think most of us could relate to). But I would think he'd at least want to know/be perceived that the new defense is "his", not the HC's.

Also, wasn't Smart only promoted to DC a couple years ago?

Any ridiculous predictions for the Iowa presser in 30 minutes?

Personally, I am hoping for Russian prostitution smuggling.
There goes Ferentz again--giving a fuck when it ain't his turn to give a fuck.

Not surprising. If it's from Pentagram, Armin will think it's amazing. Also, he got the history of the conference wrong. Also, he clearly doesn't watch football ("a rushing touchdown all the way back from yard 20"?).

I slept on it, and I still don't like it. Where I agree with Armin is that the B1G logo works better by itself than with the clunky "Ten" underneath it. I would like to see how each team incorporates the logo into their uniforms and such-cyan clearly clashes with scarlet, for example-but I get the impression that there won't be team-specific versions of the logo, like the new Pac-10 mark.

It's a different situation. Working under Saban, you know that guy is heavily involved in gameplanning from the top to the bottom. If you're under Muschamp, you can have your own imprint there.

Also, Kirby Smart is yet another UGA guy, and it'd be strange for him to turn down the UGA DC job last year and take the UF one this season - regardless of pay. Sounds like Muschamp is persona non grata in the state of Georgia right now.

One of my main issues is the emphasis of the number 10.

It's always been "Big Ten" and not "Big 10." This muddles it quite a bit, kind of like how the Big 12 put a giant "XII" in their logo while promoting the official name as the "Big 12." It confuses people, especially those concerned about getting the branding correct.

The primary logo is fine; I think we'll get used to it after half a season or so. I'll be shocked if the uniform patches aren't color-coordinated for each team.

Well, shit.

According to a West Virginia newspaper, Dana Holgorsen has agreed to be WVU's new OC, and will take over as head coach in 2012.

http://www.wvgazette.com/latest/201012140659

This rumor has been swirling on the internets since the night before last. The Pittsburgh post Gazette broke the story yesterday and the cat kinda got let out of the bag. I think Luck (Andrew's father and WVU's AD) had his hand forced by that article. This probably wasn't supposed to happen until after the bowl.

Hope it does though. Stewart was never a long term hire....he did his job in keeping the program from sinking below that 9 win threshold but we need to get some glitz back on O. The plan seems to be to keep the (excellent) D staff in place. Sounds great in theory but you never know how these things will play out.

He'll be a great hire if this is true, no reason they shouldn't torch the Big East year-in and year-out with that offense.

Don't blame him for leaving, but I really wanted to see what Weeden and Blackmon could do under another year of his tutelage.

The solo mark is growing on me. The problem is that Delany considers the full "B1GTEN" mark to be the primary one, so that's the one we'll get. And that one is unquestionably awful.

It's an incomplete and lazy solution-someone likely suggested that nobody would "get" the B1G mark, so Pentagram slapped the "Ten" underneath, destroying what cleverness the single mark has.

Looks like Applewhite is staying. Shame, I would have preferred the Gators get him.

He's that bad?

Also, I wonder if the Smart rumors were more wishful thinking on the part of some Florida power players. Muschamp has told recruits he would act as his own DC. I'm fine with that as long as it works. Spurrier does a damn good job of being the HC and OC (almost always has, too). He will need a "co-DC" to handle some of the duties a head coach can't take the time for.

I just imagine the offense would be very vanilla under Applewhite which I'd prefer since the Gators still have some dynamite playmakers. I am THRILLED that Holgorsen isn't going there. I know Stooge mentioned UT may go after Boise's guy.. hope he doesn't end up at UF.

Texas is definitely targetting Boise St's guy, though I doubt we are the only ones and there may be some schools willing to throw a HC job his way.

He has been their primary target for a while now. I think it becomes easier for Texas to nab him with Muschamp gone because it could be a position that turns into a HC job at Texas in the next few years.

Sounds like Texas is after Austin (Florida's DC) right now. Looks like he put up solid numbers, but who knows how well he recruits. I'd strongly prefer Shannon.

you're doing it wrong... you need to find some GAs (or admins) who don't make any money, raise a bunch of cash, and pay THEM to leak you shit.

duh.

Austin was a great DC for us. What he's not is a talent developer. Our guys were constantly out of place and never got great pressure on any QB. Austin had the right plays called, but it seemed like he was still used to being able to get a player to fit his system, rather than retraining existing talent.

Yeah, it's like they came up with the logo, then panicked and decided it just wasn't clear enough. No courage of their convictions.

Fuckin' A.

Cal picked up two 4-star DE commits today, Barr and Gibson. This class is shaping up nicely for us.
Avery Walls (4-star safety) committed today, too. Hope Tedford can pick up some help on offense, as well.

So, Joe Pa is apparently telling recruits he has 5-6 years left in him. I wonder if this is just bs so recruiting won't be hurt. Whats the record for oldest age to coach?

Dude is literally going to die on the sidelines. Literally.
