JoePa is such a selfish ass.jakncoke said:So, Joe Pa is apparently telling recruits he has 5-6 years left in him. I wonder if this is just bs so recruiting won't be hurt. Whats the record for oldest age to coach?

Why are you complaining? Penn St stays another easy win on your schedule.BertramCooper said:JoePa is such a selfish ass.
You're holding your program back. Just die already.

for those who cant see it live, he's been yelling for 25 minutes straight. Talk about a fiery coach.
You'd be able to inject some much-needed energy into your program. I would think recruits might prefer an actual leader at Penn State instead of a wrinkled old scrotum who doesn't do anything.jakncoke said:Where exactly would we be going with another coach?
If you're content with having two decent seasons and then following it with three or four terrible ones, that's fine by me.It's not exactly like we've been in the dumps lately

We've got some good incoming RBs as usual (Bigelow, Lasco), but apparently OL recruits are on a downswing this year (though we did get Williams). We picked up another good QB in Boehm. Still could use some WR help, but we have a lot of young WRs, so I guess they're leaving that for now.Cornballer said:Avery Walls (4-star safety) committed today, too. Hope Tedford can pick up some help on offense, as well.

You're right. I have nothing but utmost respect for JoePa but I think his time has come.BertramCooper said:You'd be able to inject some much-needed energy into your program. I would think recruits might prefer an actual leader at Penn State instead of a wrinkled old scrotum who doesn't do anything.

There's got to be a better (i.e. none-classless) mute person he could have used.

StoOgE said:So, rumor around Texas right now is Muschamp might have been the reason we installed a "pro-style" offense.
Evidently Mack is looking at going right back to the spread.. and Muschamp is trying to install a Pro-style offense in Florida.
So, Coach Boom sabotages our last season and then flees. I see how it is![]()
"The University of Texas was very good to Will Muschamp and my family. "
"Mack was great, Mack was happy for Will Muschamp, and thats just the way Mack Brown is. He knew I was ready to be a head coach."

Gamecocks625 said:I'm not in G-Vegas, but I'm happy on the inside that Florida is going back to a pro-style offense. Every since Spurrier left, I just couldn't stomach watching the Gators. Of course, Spurrier has adapted his game here at South Carolina to a more spread style but it's not all crazy like Tebow-ville or anything.
I think the big story will be who the OC is going to be. Any word on that?
Um, for all the whining fans do about JoePa, I just think of what happened when Osborne moved on in Nebraska. And in that sense, I can't really think of anyone outside of Pat Fitzgerald who find the PSU job a step and that I confidently feel would have the program doing substantially better over the long term.Talon- said:Greg Schiano, mane.

Ok, so The U and Pony Excess were broadcast after the Heisman Trophy presentation, but The Best That Never Was did damn well standing on its own.
Good to hear. The competition for spots on offense at the skilled positions should be pretty interesting next year, particularly if Vereen leaves. Some of the younger guys need to step up.Cyan said:We've got some good incoming RBs as usual (Bigelow, Lasco), but apparently OL recruits are on a downswing this year (though we did get Williams). On the other hand, this is a killer defensive class. Jalil and Barr at DT, Gibson at OLB, now Walls at safety. If we can pick up a good corner (McClure?), this could be our best class in years.

An update for the ESPN app on Xbox Live is being released today that will add some new functionality, with the most noteworthy news being that 32 college football bowl games will be watchable live, including all five BCS games (knowledge of how the BCS actually works not required).
Provided your service provider offers ESPN3 support, the app will allow you to watch a good deal of college football between now and January 10, the day of the BCS National Championship Game between Oregon and Auburn. The first of the 32 games kicks off this Saturday at 2PM EST between BYU and UTEP. The full schedule can be viewed here.
Beginning today, you'll be able to take part in the College Bowl Showdown, which allows you to make picks for all of the games and compete against friends. Various prizes can be won by participants including a tour of ESPN's headquarters and a trip to the ESPYs. You have to first register in order to take part by downloading a gamer picture -- find the details about that on Xbox.com.
Today's ESPN update also adds a "Play All" option for video clips and highlights. Rather than have to manually select each clip, the entire process can now be automated, including the ability to select only certain sports/leagues you want to watch clips of.
This may not fully replicate having cable television for sports fans without TV, but it sure is a nice way for college football fans to take in the final month of the season.
DALLAS -- After two failed bids to buy a Major League Baseball team, billionaire Mark Cuban is seriously considering trying to use his money to create a playoff alternative to college football's Bowl Championship Series.
...
Cuban, who is reading the book "Death to the BCS," said he thinks it would take about three or four years of planning before enacting the playoff system. He believes it's a better business opportunity than owning a baseball team, and he admits he's intrigued by the idea of revolutionizing a major sport.
