Okay Dad.
You're right of course, gamers all over the world can't wait for the digital only and streaming future.
I do quite like the 'plastic fucking boxes' though.....
Ignore xbots, they live in other reality. Ms ditched scalebound for this useless tech demo... what a mess.
I'm sure MS cares, they just don't know what they're doing.. Look at Windows 10, Windows Phone, Window Store, Surface etc. I'm expecting The Initiative(wtf) to be a train wreck as well.
NoIs it safe to say that Crackdown 3 is to X1 as No Man’s Sky is to PS4?
What I’ve already experienced of Crackdown 3 has been alarmingly sub-par. The world is boring, the humor is stale, the missions are repetitive, and the visuals are surprisingly poor on the Xbox One.

Sadly you are not playing a lot fun games this gen...Based on metacritic score? All they have to do is to create a walking simulator with a little girl or boy, emotions and feminism. That's a guaranteed 10/10 with the media.
But I'd rather play fun games.
The mainstream media reviewing games...
Oh.

Mainstream media lolEasy Allies review in progress:
And thus it starts. SoT was great, SoD2 was great, Crackdown too! It's a conspiracy I say.
Thank goodness for GP. The one thing that makes it valuable to me is letting me demo games so I don't buy them. It has kept me from buying 3-4 games now. Ironically it has not sold a game to me, which I think was their intent.
Looks like Crackdown to me...Original game style with massively improved visuals and a huge open world to collect Orbs in...who gives a shit about the reviews for this game...they never mattered on the original either.
Is it safe to say that Crackdown 3 is to X1 as No Man’s Sky is to PS4?
Not really surprised about the scores. I got a feeling Microsoft only released this because they had to, more or less.
For someone that doesn't care about the media's reviews, you sure post a lot in this thread. Go play your fun games.
Not from me. It had more potential than crackdownScalebound was universally ridiculed by everyone before its cancellation.
I don't believe it was ever touted as that. From the looks of it, it looks very similar to the first Crackdown, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But there is a severe lack of evolution that I think the series needed. At this point, however, I think Xbox is riding this generation out until Scarlet. This is suppose to be xbox's savior? The xbox's great comeback? As someone who's never owned an xbox but respected their attempt at a console with the 360 this is just sad.
I don't believe for a second that scalebound would not have turned out better than this.
Is it safe to say that Crackdown 3 is to X1 as No Man’s Sky is to PS4?
It indeed had potential but it dev state was worst than CD3 imo... the demo was a mess. Not from me. It had more potential than crackdown
I seriously don't get this mentality.
If people want Microsoft to do better, then their games need to get better, too. You're free to have your opinion, but if you believe MS is going to do great next gen, then you want them to start producing better quality titles to help bring people to their platform.

No, realistically, 5 is average, 6 is above average, 7 is good, 8 is great, 9 is almost perfect and 10 is fecking incredible.
So Crackdown 3 is coming to the PS4 next year?
So you won't play the game, but still want to talk shit about it. And ignored the fact that Crackdown 3 is a sequel Crackdown 1, recreating what was great about the first game.
It is ok not to like Crackdown, but your misinformed post seem to imply that somehow they didn't deliver. By the sounds of it, Crackdown 3 is exactly what Crackdown fans would want.
Scalebound died for this
Ok, so IGN and Gamespot are the ultimate authority on games now.
Haha
I want MS to do better, but this title has been in dev since MS started this gen with a Mattrick dud. It's based around unproven tech and has changed developer hands in the middle. I only expected the middle bar here and the overall gaming bar has been raised so high this gen that there is no way this title would compete. MS seems to have hit a major reset button the past 2 years, but this game is a casualty of bygone leadership and Sumo was not the right choice for developing it...pain to see.
The mentality is that my expectations are reasonable, not fanboy fueled like some. I think that the game will be fun, especially considering I played the first on for a couple hundred hours with a long time friend.
It was never supposed to be Xbox's saviour. It was a cheap way ro show "we care about our IP" from the starte of the gen. While showing off the power of rhe cloud. In my eyes at least, it was never intended to bw more than a marketing piece, and everygame from that era ended up meh. This is suppose to be xbox's savior? The xbox's great comeback? As someone who's never owned an xbox but respected their attempt at a console with the 360 this is just sad.

Lol so like anthem you mean- Original footage/promises/etc. does not align with what is eventually released
Blame it on Mattrick again. This was Phil's game.
Man some of these reviews are insane "crackdown 3 is no spider man, 3 out of 10"
Like lol when was this ever going to be a spider man level game

I'm not bothered by these numbers. Reviewers seem to heavily favor story driven games with cinematic presentation. Sadly games like Crackdown won't rate high in the current gaming media because it's not some indie title that hits above it's weight nor is it some drama laden experience in which they can marvel us with their astute understanding of it's deeper themes and feels. It's a fun game which simply isn't that interesting to write about. Though I'm tempted to look and see how Waypoint politicizes it just for a laugh.
The problem here is, you equate metacritic score to "get better". According to whom? There are several real ways measuring of performance of a game, like sales or engagement, metacritic count reviews from people who aren't gamers isn't one of them.
My goal is to expose your arguments for others who might read this. I don't care about the mainstream media, so much so I don't even visit the metacritic website. They aren't gamers nor particularly knowledgeable about the medium.
