Dark Souls III [unmarked Spoilers Thread]

I don't think there's a spoiler or area I've seen yet that I don't like.

I can't wait to play for myself.

Do we know if the "final" boss (not counting secret endings) changes based on our playthrough / play style?

So Firelink Shrine is an illusion just like Hunter's dream was in Bloodborne, the real Firelink Shrine is in ruin,in dark, everyone is dead, even Andre, there's only the ds2 woman selling Artorias set.

woah where can I see this?

so the DS2 woman is the old lady?

How viable is a Dex based build this time around with a weapon like the Uchihatana for instance? Also does someone have a video showing off its weapon/battle art?

Is artorias' armor set in game?

I'm about 6 bosses in, and so far I've seen a lot of bonfires, and not many shortcuts. Individual areas are still sprawling and fairly well designed, but I'm aching for some of the interconnected metroidvania feelings I got from Dark Souls 1, or at least some more shortcut porn. Does it get better in that regard?

I haven't seen any Lightning weaponry yet. I've seen some healing miracles and pine resin, but no Lightning Spears, Sunlight Blades, or Boss Soul weapons with inherent lightning damage.

Does anyone have any video, gifs, webms, pics?

Has anyone tried to save their LoC remains until they get to the Untended Graves and see if they can set the remains there? Maybe that'll trigger the third ending?

Also, speaking of the Untended Graves, the real Gundyr is a helluva more brutal boss fight than the tutorial one.

Is there any videos of the Untended Graves, or how you even get there?

It's accessed through an illusory wall behind the door that is in the Oceiros boss room once you beat him. It leads to the Champion Gundyr fight (who is a reskin, but a far more brutal and unforgiving one is his second phase, as he becomes super aggressive instead of turning into that weird dark thing) that sends you to Firelink. Only the hag is there, and she sells Artorias' set. Also, as this vid shows, for anyone who doesn't know, Lautrec's set is in the game.

Gundyr fight and the real Firelink.

Nice Dark Souls 2 reference with the Dead Giant tree and a seed of giants.

"Nary a peep of the bell" she says. What. Is there some time fuckery going on?

Wait, Lautrec's armor is in the game? :O

Would have been quite mindblowing if DSIII had pulled an 'A Link To The Past' and had a whole another Dark World that was just as big as the real one with all sorts of brutal enemies and slightly altered locations. "The real Dark Souls starts here"

It just keeps getting better and better.

So.... anyone from DS2 make it into this game?

And does it have a shitty swamp area like the other games? It kind of has to I guess. Tradition.

Gilligan's body is found, there is a Nashandra painting and i'm 95% sure the old lady in FS is either one of the firekeepers from Things Betwixt or maybe Shanalotte herself.

Btw is there a set that looks similar to Vendrick's? Other than the Llewellyn set I mean.

I don't know, to be honest.

Is there really a 'secret' final boss?

Don't think so.

Soul of Cinder

It's interesting, the Japanese name is 王たちの化身 (ou tachi no keshin), which literally translates to something like "The Lords Incarnate".
I really like the English name, as it encompasses all that - every lord that's linked the flame - while also giving a nod to old G himself.

Man, the rate this thread is going is crazy. I really hope people don't stumble in here by accident...
