Deadpool Test Footage Leaked

Holy crap

I actually laughed

I want this so bad

I don't trust Fox with Deadpool. They are too hit and miss.

Recent outings from Fox were:
- The Wolverine
- First Class
- Days of Future Past

Yeah, I have faith in them doing Deadpool right. Take the Riddick-approach; mid-budget, R-rated, all the DP-fans will flock to it, watch them moneys roll in.

Damn, that was good. I was worried I'd keep trying to hear Nolan North, but Reynolds pulled it off pretty well.

If no one's gonna make a full movie out of this then I could see a series of shorts being pretty awesome.

It's gone. Please, GAF, tell me. Tell me the tales of the fabled Deadpool movie.

Edit: Found it again. If that's what they're doing, then I'm okay with it. They've got the formula down and a lot of that looked like it could be pretty easily substituted with real actors/stuntmen.

IMO, even though it was only test footage, the clip just highlighted the problem of having the main character always wear a mask.

Looks solid, though I'm still not sure where I want a Deadpool movie happening. I almost feel it'd be best as a standalone film, outside of any Avengers/X-Men/etc "cinematic universe". I want Deadpool taking shots at the comic book movie genre as a whole, which is hard to do when you're married to the rules of it.

Edgar Wright would be a fun choice, though I wonder if he's even interested in another big studio blockbuster after what a mess Ant-Man became. Maybe get the Russo brothers (of Captain America : The Winter Soldier and Community fame), or Justin Lin (Fast & Furious 6).

What problem?

And he doesn't have to remain masked. He could take it of for a laugh as he does in the game.

Multiple people were convinced it was Nolan North doing the voice, not Reynolds. Most A-list stars aren't really interested in signing on for a film (and most studios uninterested in paying A-list prices) if people won't even realize who's playing the main character. (Though obviously all that's possible to adjust when you're doing this for real rather than in a CGI test).

Never watched/seen anything with this Deadpool but based on that video I would definitely go watch Deadpool film. That looked really fun.

Reynolds loves Deadpool. I don't thinkl he'd have a problem with it.

Yeah, he may end up being the exception. He seems to be the biggest reason this project isn't 100% dead, and would totally do the role just to do it.

But still - you don't see a ton of always-masked leads going to huge celebrities. I also imagine it's why in X-Men Origins : Wolverine, Deadpool never really wears the mask.

I'd be game for a Deadpool film like this, even if it's just a straight to video thing. Why aren't there more budget comic adaptions?

This look fantastic breaking that fourth wall Ryan is a perfect fit though as deadpool. Make it goddamn happen fox! I need my merc with a mouth!

Looked pretty good, although they made Deadpool more like his silly over the top version of himself rather than his classic run self. Though it's not like the whole movie would be like that.

Edit: Since posting this, I have learned that this is legitimate test footage, however, it is from 2011, when Tim Miller was developing the project.

did anyone notice this? if not well now you know it's old.

Not sure I'd consider Reynolds an A lister, but I do get the point you're trying to make.

I think Reynolds would be okay with wearing a mask throughout though, he seems to really love the character.

That it became that much harder to read his expression (and, dare I say it, emotion). Jim Carrey was so much fun to watch in The Mask (at least in part) because you can see him contort and exaggerate his facial expressions.

That's a good point, but Deadpool does do a good job conveying expression and emotion through exaggerated body language, which I think would translate well to the bit screen.

Yah Ryan Reynolds is a trooper and has done great voice work before as shown here in Zeroman where he played Leslie Nielsen's sidekick. http://youtu.be/5Zkvp3bZXxk

Leslie the GOAT.

"By KnightGambit - 6/18/2013"

During a panel at the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Convection artist Rob Liefeld told the audience all that happens in the Deadpool Movie Test footage shot last year.

The screen opens and it looks like a fully costumed Deadpool is sitting on a bench. His back is to you... he has earbuds on listening to music and turns to say, while waving, "Oh, hi there!"

He takes his earbuds out and says, "I need to get back to you... I have some business to take care of." Then the camera goes above him and he's now sitting on the edge of a highway overpass.

You see cars driving below him and Deadpool jumps off of the overpass. There's a black SUV going underneath and he crashes through the moon roof. He's then sitting in the backseat next to these two black-suited, Men In Black-like thugs. Deadpool says, "Hey guys, how you doin'?"

Deadpool stabs one while shooting the other. Two guys in front of Deadpool have machine guns and turn to fire at him. He goes low in the SUV and slides down to shoot the two goons. The driver turns in astonishment and Deadpool shoots him.

The driver goes flying out the window and tumbles onto the freeway. There's another SUV that sees this and turns around with more goons bringing out machine guns and start firing at Deadpool while it's driving toward the first SUV. (It is assumed that Deadpool has gotten out of the SUV he smashed into but this is not said clearly by Liefeld.)

Deadpool blocks some incoming bullets with his sword then jumps up high and throws some throwing stars through the windows of the other SUV at the new attackers. The driver of the second SUV doesn't pay attention and hits the first SUV causing the vehicle to flip up into the air.

With the SUV in the air, Deadpool is standing under it while it's still in the air and (apparently this part is a slo-mo sequence) Deadpool takes out a drawing of the driver and shows it to him while he's still in the airborne SUV. Deadpool points at the drawing of the driver and then at the driver. Deadpool then pulls out another drawing of the driver with his head cut off. The driver sees all of this and give Deadpool a "HUH?!" look and sound while the SUV is still in mid-air.

The SUV lands after being airborne and Deadpool approaches the driver, who is now half hanging out of the car. Deadpool reaches for his sword and... SLICE! Chops off the driver's head and it goes rolling off the body. Deadpool sheaths his sword and sees another guy coming toward him on a motorcycle. Deadpool jump kicks him off the bike and at the same time lands on the motorcycle. Now with Deadpool on the bike, he waves to the dude he just kicked off the bike and speeds away on the highway.

The footage was shot by upcoming director Tim Miller who is still attached and written by the Zombieland duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Settle down. This is test footage from 2011/2012. It was used as a reference to show what the tone of the movie would be, showcase the various traits that make Deadpool Deadpool. This is not happening. Not yet.

I want to believe.
It's better than the wiki stub that might as well read "development hell".

DO IT FOX!

This looks a little too polished and finished for internal test footage. I wonder if this is Fox (providing that this is the terms of their deal) 're-upping' the Deadpool rights by showing Marvel that they are developing the project.

If that sounds a little strange just look at Warren Beatty's attempts over the years to maintain the Dick Tracy rights. At one point Warren Beatty filmed himself, dressed as Dick Tracy, being interviewed and said this Q&A was proof he was still developing a Dick Tracy project and thus should be allowed to keep the rights.

Weird.

This has so much potential to be awesome. Hopefully Fox won't force them to make it PG 13.

There is literally no way Fox would ever make this an R rated film as A) it's a Marvel property and B) Fox don't make R rated films unless they get held hostage by a director aka Prometheus.

I want this badly but isn't Ryan Reynolds a box office stinker?

Doubt they will fund a major motion picture with an obscure character and a Ryan Reynolds at the helm (which will have to be rated R).

But who knows after GotG, anything is possible I guess.
