How do you explain to yourself how well the series S performs (comparatively speaking).
That last sentence did not age well.Albert Penello said this back in 2013 before the consoles launched. Thought it was funny to repost it.
Adam Sessler & Albert Penello on the Xbox One (Interview)
He meant graphics. Did you see Infamous:Second Son? I have seen Infamous... it looks next gen, but so does Ryse visually, and to some people even more so than Infamous which looks good, but at no point does anyone feel like Infamous makes Ryse look a league apart, both are serious eye candy...www.neogaf.com
I'm merely saying that anyone who wants to die on their sword over this 30%+ power advantage are going to be fighting an uphill battle over the next 10 years
Xbox 360 won the first head to heads and maintained that over the course of the gen
PS4 won the first head to heads and maintained that
One X won the first head to heads and maintained that
I mean you probably haven’t read shit in the past few days if you typed this up.It's well known third party studio's had access to Sony specs a year before Microsoft.
Microsoft also claimed there the only console with a Full RDNA2 GPU? Sony GPU not full RDNA2? Then the devs have less familiarising to do here if Sony chipset not a full custom RDNA2 chip.
MS held out for the latest gpu from AMD, alleged Sony did not and they had a year head start. Sony having a slight head start at the beginning not surprising here. It's very unrealistic to believe Sony can maintain this lead with a 2 teraflop difference on the series.
PS5 would be breaking all known rules about hardware for it to outperform the Series X going forward.
Unfortunately Series X uses RDNA1 CUs
Series X might have all the features of RDNA2, but its powered by last gen CU tech. Its a Ferrari body with a Ford Focus engine
And now we are seeing that play out in the real world comparisons
"Better". It's not even possible perceive such difference. If at the end of the generation the difference will be just that or even wider but remotely perceivable, all that discussion about the better multiplat are simply comical.Untrue
DMC5 on Xbox was better on 75% of modes.
The other mode DF said the average framerate was the same 100fps.
Could you explain why Series S isn't the same version as Series X but at a lower resolution, as MS advertised? It's 30fps.

Plenty of evidence suggests Xbox was finalized before the PS5. I mean even the full RDNA2 doesn‘t hold up when there are key features missing on Xbox.

I feel sorry for the people who bought the series X on the promise of better performing multiplatform games.
Especially if they got both consoles and then bought games like this on the Series X under the assumption that it would perform better.
As for the people who have been chatting shit for months and will now defend this - I don't feel sorry for you.
But but the Xbox SeX was 40-50% more powerfull according to XboxfansOk, 15% performance difference is not negligible anymore.
I wouldn't count too much on that. Could happen but not for the most of the times. Again I continue to persist such difference will ended to be not that big gulf as so many continue to prophesy, so who cares.Yep I think the PS5 will lead in multiplats the entire gen. What will happen is Series X will offer more performance in a minority of games as the gen matures.
Another Greenberg blunder

There’s no missing piece. They could’ve made it run at 4K/60, but it’d look worse. There’s no certain power threshold where 4k60 is a guarantee. Power can always be used somewhere elseSomeone could ask why the ps5 can't stay at 4k and 60fps...what's the missing piece of the puzzle?
It has to be Dx12 vs whatever PS uses at this point.
How can same arch RDNA 2 gpu, but with only measly 36 CU outperform 52 CU gpu + higher memory bandwidth to boot? CPU is same in both [Zen 2], but even lower clocked on ps5. This must be so embarrassing for Xbox software team.
No it hasn'tWhy is this BS allowed to be posted on here? This has been proven false many times over.
Yes it has. Where is you evidence that it is not full RDNA2?No it hasn't

Yeah Mark cerny was right afterall, now lets see if he was right about the GPU CU countSo TFs are not everything, what a surprise....
I just posted it. Their leaks have been spot on for everything AMD relatedYes it has. Where is you evidence that it is not full RDNA2?
A single Tweet is your proof? GTFOI just posted it. Their leaks have been spot on for everything AMD related
And that doesn't stop it from having the full RDNA2 feature set and additions like ray tracing. Its just the CUs that are based on RDNA1 - probably because MS chose to use more CUs at a lower frequency
Could you explain why Series S isn't the same version as Series X but at a lower resolution, as MS advertised?
Why so many compromises?
The frame-rate is halved, lower quality shadows, lower quality LODs + lower rendering resolution on top.

That is not at all the case on PC for some reason? If we compare GPU from same architecture. Higher CU gpu ALWAYS outperforms lower CU count part significantly even if bigger part runs at lower clocks, especially at higher resolution.Well, it's quite deep but Teraflops are not a measure of gaming performance because Teraflops are the theoretical maximum floating point compute performance of a GPU, games are not all FP16/FP32 instructions, some of the code will be compute heavy, but ultimately what appears on screen will often be down to what GPU can draw triangles the fastest, we still have gameworlds made of polygons, which are triangles, PS5 is significantly faster at raster performance, so it can draw more triangles, infact in 5 out of 7 performance metrics the PS5 beats the Series X GPU, PS5's GPU is very fast and narrow, the CU's will be full of tasks constantly getting nearer to it's maximum theoretical performance, where as Series X is wide and slow, you wont fill 52 CU's and the one's that are full wont get anywhere close to that theoretical maximum 12.4teraflops, so you end up with a GPU that's got stalled CU's doing nothing, with split memory configuration, less raster performance, and not getting anywhere close to it's theoretical maximum compute performance.
Probably at least another $100 in MSRP. Even PC GPUs that cost more than the PS5/XSX struggle with 4K/60fps. Many people forget that 4K@60fps is something difficult to render, native at least.Someone could ask why the ps5 can't stay at 4k and 60fps...what's the missing piece of the puzzle?

Nobody should be dying on their sword for either consoles. It's just the start, PS5 owners will get a win, XsX will get wins, and when you have a "win" like this, it's not really much to be bragging about to begin with. People are literally argue over milliseconds of torn frames. If you think PS5 is gonna hold a dominant position on every multiplatform game, you'll just be setting yourself up for disappointment. It'll be interesting in say 2 years time when we get actual next-gen games instead of these cross-gen games from studios that are stretching out development across 7 different platforms.
This thread will not age well. Enjoy while it lasts though. Nobody serious expects the PS5 to outperform the series X into the middle of next year. If you think that's going to happen. you don't know anything about the industry.

None of you have any idea about GDK. If they aren't polished then it's Microsoft fault. Stop defending companies. They don't pay you.
Performance is close and I am sure Xbox will catch up with PlayStation. Hopefully Xbox shills on twitter will now shut the fuck up and concentrate on playing games rather gloating about useless words like "full RDNA 2" and explain English on what "and" and "at" means.
