"Eurogamer: What native resolution is Dead Rising 3?

Josh Bridge, executive producer, Capcom Vancouver: 720p. And I'm really happy with that, with the sheer amount of stuff we have in an open world game locked at 30fps, that's just brilliant. Of course our UI (user interface) runs at 1080 native on top, but no, we're a 720p game locked at 30fps."

It's called a lie.

If they have any common sense they'll be lamenting that they just spent $560 for this shit.

Some of the best games of this gen have had framerate issues, the amount of gameplay in the game is what will count for the people who buy this game.

Looks very much like artificial sharpening is in play here again too.

EURGH.

look at the outline of the weapon. if this really is part of the internal scaling hardware and gamers have no control over whether it happens or not... I will not be a happy kitty.

I expect better than a middle of the road current generation game.

(Ignoring zombie numbers.)

oh im sure we will see shitty games on both console...expecially the first couple of years...

this is not a problem of hw..but just sw (also puttin in the zombie numbers)

Someone need to do a comparison shot/video between E3 build and final build,
Look like a huge downgrade.

Yeah it looks significantly worse than E3..

I remember buying borderlands on PS3 and traded it in because the low fps when lots of enemies on screen just bugged me to death. So I bought the 360 version, and it played a bit better.

Next gen I want all this crap to go away, these games are supposed to be running on mid range Pc's for goodness sake.

Dead Rising 3's big issue is that despite the upgrades, the feeling in terms of refresh and response often feels very much like a poorly optimised current-gen title.

Launch title or not, that can't be good to read as someone who made the game.
What is the point of the 1080p UI? Besides deception

Personally I find UIs really should be native even if the games aren't. The UI doesn't move around and so you can focus on it easily so it needs to be crisp and sharp. The game behind it in motion can get away with a lower res provided suitable steps are taken to blur the fact that it's lower.

A bare faced lie is what it is. Developers are quite fond of them.

I'm pretty sure when the people playing this game are mowing down Zombies whilst dressed in a funny outfit, whilst driving a car, then those people won't care about the graphics.

20fps can get bad for the eyes. GTA5 strains mine with it's bad frame rate.

Lowered expectations is the only way I can get comments like this. If I had this game pre-ordered I would cancel. Resolution aside, not being a locked 30 is ridiculous.

The game is a launch title that was obviously developed for the 360 before being ported to the XBO. Expectations for graphics have to be kept minimum. The game looks to be pure fun and nothing else.

I remember when games used to be about fun - not how many pixels or FPS any particular title can push around the screen.

25fps or 30fps - still looks like a lot of fun to me!

Because bad framerate can ruin the game for alot of people? If you don't care about sub 30 FPS then more power to you but that is not the case for everybody.

Man hope capcom/ MS eventually ports this over to PC.
The game looks fun, but man not having 30 locked is such a shame. And that pop in uugh.

Would have said pre-order cancelled .... but tier 2/3 here.

Do you think the competition is going to have games that are 720p and 20fps? It's weird you think this is acceptable for a console being released in 2013....

Locked only means it will never go above 30.

Not in game speak. What you're referring to is a capped frame rate. Locked 60fps, or locked 30fps means the frame rate never drops from 60fps/30fps respectively.

I would agree to this argument when we were talking about poor textures and poor models which have been designed with X360 in mind. But we are talking about performance. I would expect a nextgen console to run a game which was created with current gen in mind with 1080p / 60fps.

The shit in this is this Xbone exclusive game.

If you want to talk about that then there's Octodad on PS4 which is still in dev and is an indie. And it's super fun.

But right now, this is disappointing but it's not surprising given the HW the game is on.

Well, that's what I clearly said then seeing this videos: It's not 30FPS locked and it will be a mess. Still, 85% went mad stating "whaaat it's locked 30FPS", "there is no stutter" etc. - always the same shit.

However thought that this game would be high quality regarding the tech was a bit naive, to be honest. The history of the series is "troubled", to put it kindly.

GTAV running at 720P sub30fps was a masterful achievement on seven year old hardware.

GTAV, the same game with the same content, running at 720P sub 30fps on these new machines would be an inexcusable failure.

DR3 doesn't get a pass, no game should get a pass for running like dogshit on brand new hardware.

Feel a little sorry for Josh Bridge, he was sent out by Microsoft to defend to power of the Xbox One. Its not often you see lies exposed so quickly.

I could enjoy (and have done) a game at 720P but sub 30fps is a total train crash for a game.

ok ...still ryse forza5 and titanfall..are good enough also just forza5 and ryse..and maybe just only ryse would be enouugh.....

what im saying ..the xb1 lineup is better than ps4..but also being better..is pretty much...meh.
1 year waiting is smart for most of ppl ...before buy a console

at launch ppl will get most of the time not optimized/rushed games...

DDR3 too slow for nextgen?
This is actually a real question, I'm not an expert on the matter.

Also, they said the game would be "locked" at 30fps. Wtf?

DDR3 is way to slow for next gen, its a massive bottleneck on the already weaker GPU which only goes on to limit the system further, you can improve things with the faster edram but not by much due to it's limited size.

Car vault - the next gen sequel.

Looks assy, which would be excusable if the framerate was stable. It isn't, so... Eh.

Granted, I'm not getting a XBone, and I'm not a fan of the franchise, but to me as an outsider it seems cutting away some Zombies for a better framerate and more effects would have been a very good idea...

Well, the Xbone isn't exactly the most powerful of consoles. Laying some blame at the hardware seems reasonable, with all the other launch games exhibiting performance issues.

Ememy counts are very CPU intentsive so it would probably run worse on the PS4.

Im going to be honest. Dead rising should be a franchise that leads on PC and gets ported to consoles. Its always been too ambitious for its own good on that front.

The Dead Rising franchise has an history of poor framerate, at this point, the fanbase will be used to it.

Excuse after excuse

You X1 buyers must be getting tired by now.

The looks like garbage. This should not be acceptable in 2013.
