Even knowing what he recently said about Uncharted, isn't it possible he's at their studio to do the voice work for TLOU DLC? They mentioned they were going to begin voice work this week.
I'll put my money on the TLoU DLC.

You haven't seen the game yet. I don't know why "everyone" thinks ND isn't capable of bringing new things to the Uncharted formula.

I would rather see new game but I would imagine them doing rich environments and doing different things with game play. At this point Uncharted is as much about the characters/settings as it is about graphics and game play. They could in some new mechanics and improve gun play and all the mechanics but who knows.

As much as I would prefer a new IP from ND up first (the people saying that U4 is somehow "decending back into mediocrity... what?) but from a Sony perspective they kinda need this. Uncharted I would guess is probably Sony's best selling franchise last gen next to Gran Turismo, and this is the game that a lot of people are waiting for to pick up a PS4 (I know a few personally), they'd be leaving serious money on the table not doing it.
Would I prefer a new IP? Of course. Do I think they could have farmed this off to another fantastic dev and got away with it? Probably. Do I think this game is important to the overall PS4 narrative? I think so (also its really easy eye porn to show off some of THE PS4's tech, its really a no brainer)

They can have Uncharted sequel, and still do a new IP, like they've done TLOU. I doubt TLOU would be getting the sequel anytime soon, so that team should be free to come up with something new.

I don't want to listen to it (skimmed it a bit and looks like they talk about details of TLOU. Haven't played it yet so don't want to hear much about the game yet) but did they actually confirm this? Could you if possible give a time stamp as to when he said this?

I really hope Dominic Monaghan simply mispoke about a new Uncharted, Amy Hennig can't stick to that series forever
And as much as I loved The Last of Us, a new IP from them is greatly appreciated, The Last of Us doesn't need to be a trilogy.

Uncharted 4 would be the worst case scenario for me really.
New platformer IP > Jak 4 > New cinematic IP > TLoU 2 > Uncharted 4

Uncharted is like...the best case.
As much as I liked TLoU, it's bleak and depressing. Uncharted edges the series out thanks to its setting and cast. Personal preference I suppose.

I honestly don't think they need to change it up that much. The visuals alone will be enough. They can keep it safe for the first on the new platform.
I'm sure they're capable of bringing new things to the table. But I can reasonably assume they're going to keep a lot of things on the table too, which rules me out for round four.
I can still tell they are masters of their craft, which is why I would like to see them move into completely new territory.

It would seem likely, especially knowing that The Last of Us started as a comic project with a few pictures here and there and that Neil wants to create a new and more resonant non sexualized female character so his own daughter can have a game character to relate to/ to look after.

Yep, I think Sony or even Naughty Dog aren't finished with Nathan Drake. Uncharted 3 left a ton of questions left unanswered, too.
Can't even imagine what ND can do with the PS4. That's going to be one hell of a set-piece moment there I'm sure.

So sounds like the TLOU team isn't sure yet on what they will do next and it could be a new IP.
See this is the thing...Sony isn't going to make these guys work on something they don't want to do themselves. They are one of their most important factors going into next gen and ND will be given a lot of freedom I think.
That said I want Uncharted 4. Brand new much more powerful hardware + I love the characters in the UC universe.
Monaghan has mentioned before his love for Uncharted (both on Twitter and on Up At Noon), but I doubt that's why he's there. I'm hard pressed to see the Jak statue as a red herring (why not stand next to something from current gen, especially when he's already expressed his love for Nathan Drake's exploits?), but that's probably just because I want another great platformer from the dog house.
