The level in the first link looks amazing. If they keep up that quality of level design throughout the whole game, it's really going to be something special. And in the third one, you can see that the roll-jump is still in.

I like how they collect a Jiggy from beating that bonus stage.

LOVE IT thanks for posting it.

Maybe this has been asked before but anyone know, if anyone asked them there if you can use a classic/gamecube controller for this game?
I like the motion stuff so far but I would like the option for it!

Classic controller can be used :D (Edit: Misunderstanding, Classic Controller is not confirmed)

Also add another wow at the level design in those youtube videos. The game is gonna be fucking amazing!

That second clip where Diddy jumps on Donkey's back and uses his jet-pack shows that co-op is definitely going to have some interesting play.

I gotta say, even though I'm pumped for this and know Retro will do an amazing job, a part of me is disappointed it still doesn't stick entirely with the Pirate and Kremlin theme of DKC2.

That being said, that minecart level is authentic DKC. The little out of reach pick-ups, the bonus barrels, the frantic pace of gameplay. It looks like Donkey Kong Country, and not just a side scroller with Donkey Kong.

God damn, this game is going to be so good.

I doubt it's from the game.....they put music over this Skyward Sword footage too. Surely that's not from Zelda?
The music in the DKC:R trailer sounds like something that really fits with the franchise, which can't be said of that 'epic' crap they threw over Zelda.

It's unlikely that the music is actually from the game, but damnit...I want to believe.

So they're going to support both Wiimote+Nunchuck and Wiimote sideways? I'm relieved. I'm okay with the Nunchuck for side scrolling, but the d-pad is way better.

You mean the music used in some TP trailer? That was awesome.

any classic controller pro support?
They only mentioned nunchuck and sideways when asked about control schemes, and there's that motion control with the ground slap.

Edit: Wait, shit, really? Well fuck guess I'm gonna use that.

Argh fuck it, I misunderstood the interview(read through it too fast, and damn it IGN stop saying classic control when referring to sideway Wiimote control). No classic controller confirmed

So far Wii Remote + Nunchuk and Wiimote sideway NES style is confirmed.

Sorry, but sideway wiimote style is good enough for me, I'll most likely play with the nunchuck if it adds to the gameplay as much as Retro claims.

Haven't seen it posted, buy maybe I missed it:

IGN: I was interviewing them earlier, and even though you weren't directly involved you were definitely very inspirational in making sure certain things were done in that game correctly. I'm wondering, which parts of Donkey Kong Country did you like versus not like? And what did you address with them?

Miyamoto: The first point that I want to make is that I actually worked very closely with Rare on the original Donkey Kong Country. And apparently recently some rumor got out that I didn't really like that game? I just want to clarify that that's not the case, because I was very involved in that. And even emailing almost daily with Tim Stamper right up until the end.

So do we always have to shake the controller to get the giant bananas or that's only for the nunchuk+wiimote combo?

That's the only thing that bugged me in the video. Seems unnecessary to me

I can just imagine using that to fuck with the other player.

"Hey jump over there, I'll use my jetpack to hover us to that secret."
DK jumps. Diddy jumps off DK's back and hovers himself over, leaving DK to fall to his death.
"lol"

The minecart doesn't jump with DK and Diddy.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo

It'll probably change depending on the level, like in the original trilogy.

Watch the E3 reveal trailer again. The first minecart level, it jumps with them. The second, it doesn't. Just like DKC. :D

While we're reveling in awesome Donkey Kong music I've been enjoying the water theme from DKC3.

I'm pretty mad that DKC3 isn't on the Australia VC. I was planning to buy a Wii so I could play all 3 until DKCR comes out.
wow, dkc3 is the only one i never played and this sounds great...

Well they are giving us a different kind of pirate, one they have more experience with....

Yah... i Heard this too. I think they are making a big mistake. IMO, kremlings are part of what the dkc games were.

Tell me about it. As excited as I am its a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge downer to not see any Kremlins. For them to appear in all three Donkey Kong Country games and not be the main villian here is a stupid, stupid design choice.

Mario has the Koopas, Donkey Kong has the Kremlins. You silly Retro. Fix this atrocity and get rid of this goofy tribal shit.

They had email back then?

Just that I've got this right, difference between the CC and CCPro is that the Pro has two grips for easier... well, grip.

No additional buttons or anything?

Heh, they shouldn't really have put Country in the name

Still can't get over Diddy riding DK, ugh

I am so fucking SOLD on this game. At first, I really didn't know what to think with Retro making this and all. I saw the 3 gameplay videos and this looks awesome. The level design looks even better than DKC2.

The Z1 and Z2 buttons are proper shoulder buttons now instead of tiny little circles, the D-Pad is far better, the buttons are better, the cord comes out the top instead of the bottom, and the analog sticks are spaced farther apart.

The GBA soundtrack is excellent. Eveline Novakovic's SNES score doesn't quite get the balance between melody and ambience that Wise nails, so it's nice to have an alternative.

What? They only showed the first levels, we don't know if there gonna be harder mine-cart levels (if that's what you mean).

Edit: Oh... now I get it :D

Speaking of DKC music. This track reminds me a lot of Phendrana drifts from Metroid Prime. I'm more than sure that the music will be in good hands of Kenji Yamamoto.

IMO, This one from the GBA version (David Wise) is better... I still hope he gets on this :(

Im being facetious, the post is about the two people whining that the minecart doesnt jump with DK and Diddy in some DKCR footage

What, no Kremlins? :(

I should have known. I don't really like those goofy big-bellied animals like the boss we can see in the trailer.

BUT there's the old banana sound effect :D.

I was wondering, has there been any sort of confirmation that rideable animals actually Are in the game?

After the awful decision of replacing K. Rool and Kremlings with those unappealing Kitis (tribal dudes), I wouldn't want them to have removed another iconic element of the Donkey Kong Country series...

I want my Rambi!

I will eat my face if there are no animal buddies. They wouldn't revive DKC without Rambi, Enguarde, and Squawks.

I also wouldn't rule out Kremlings being in. Maybe they're not the primary protagonists this time around, but surely they're in there one way or another.
