I watched a mirana leap a chaos bolt and still get stunned. That's not supposed to happen anymore, no?
I had a great game as Dazzle just now. I hit some pretty epic shallow graves I must say. It did make me realize I have no idea what most of the moves are called. Dazzle's ult is called Weave and not Super Armor Break Move? I'm trying to think of a hero whose moves I know all the names for. I know Axe, and maybe Lich (Frost Nova? Or is that Maiden's move).
Invoker has pretty easy names for all of his stuff![]()
Claws of Tornallus!
But aside from professional casting he's a decent player, to say the least. I've never doubted in Milk's skills, hell, I'm pretty much sure he's the best Dota 2 player I've yet had a chance to play with. Yet, I genuinely believe that Purge if not better but at least on par with Milk, no question about that.
Who's ready forMedusanothing this week?![]()
I played with him once a while back, I would agree he isn't anything too special as a player. He has just been a Dota caster for years and got some windfall with Dota 2.
It's now (since 6.76) a normal projectile, you can't dodge it anymore.
Chaos Bolt's stun is no longer partially undodgeable (now a normal projectile with 1000 speed)
From partially undodgeable to a normal projectile with 1000 speed to me implies that it should be disjointed by a mirana leap, no? I mean if it's a normal projectile it should be disjointed like all other normal projectiles. If it were not a normal projectile, like a storm hammer or a shackle shot then you'd expect it to not be disjointed.

What can you dodge with miranas leap?
It is dodgeable; I dodged one last week playing as Mirana vs CK.

I've got time for a quick tutorial game. If anyone would like to guide me through the basics over voice chat.
Hm, I'd be down for that. Lets do a pure bot game, in case I have to leave early
I'm in game now. Add me @RbBrdMan..
additionally is there a way to change my Steam Name to match my forum name? I'm sick of the BrdMan moniker.
If you're online in a few hours I can act as a dummy opponent if anyone wants to teach you. My name is BHK3
If you wanna change your name, either go to Edit my profile on your steam page or click the little arrow next to your name in the friends list.
They're too busy preparing for the Christmas event.
I don't remember him casting any Dota before Dota 2, I thought he just got big because he for a while filled the void of "streamers somewhat helpful to new players," which Merlini is doing much better right now.
Luminous, LD, Tobi all casted Dota 1 a lot, but I don't ever remember seeing Purge before Dota 2. Oh well, he's definitely nothing special. I'd put any of the higher skill GAF players above him.
Thanks Guys, add me on steam RbBrdMan. I doubt that I'm better than anyone I've played 2 co-op bot games. Didn't get a single kill. I seriously do not even know the basics of the game. I'll need some voice coaching.![]()
I have been playing since Summer but very sporadicly. Would like to play better.
I have some spare time in the weekends and will try to join.
No, he cast Dota cash and did his whole play a hero series in dota 1.
Watch streams or the recordings of those on twitch or own3d.I've been watching Purge because he's always at the top of my YouTube searches. n0b you said that Merlini is a better caster for new players, but I can't seem to find his YT account. Do you know what his account name is?
Who else is a really good high level player to watch? I like to see how they control their hero and the camera and stuff, since that's what I struggle with the most.

I'm pretty sure Merlini doesn't upload his stuff on youtube, but he streams quite a often.

You said it with such a tone that sounds like you're almost saying that you're better than Purge. Almost.
One thing I've never got yet is how item attributes stack, i.e. if I get 2x hyper stones do I get twice the attack speed bonus?
Ok I'll look on twitch. Thanks.
Thanks for the tip about changing my screen name. I will add you as a friend. I might be available around 8pm EST tonight. I have a paper to write so whenever I'm done with it tonight we can hook up.
You don't pick AM to finish matches quickly.
Did you dodge it at the last possible moment? I'm wondering if I should file a bug report or not.

We reached a point where Silencer had so much int stolen, that he was hitting really really hard with pure damage. We could have won at the 50min mark easy, but we fucked up and everything got delayed
Thanks that really helped!Unless it has a percentage attached to it, it just adds to it
For instance, hyperstone is 50 AS. Two hyperstones are 100 AS. It takes your BAT (which for most heroes is 1.7 I believe) and does a calculation with a simple formula (its on the playdota website).
Trolls gives 180 as. The only spell I can think of off the top of my head that multiplies your AS is Lone Druid's rabid.
edit: More info is that the cap is 500 AS. Ursa's active use to just give him 500 AS for 6 attacks but I think its works differently now.
Pulled from playdota;
To determine how fast a unit attacks, the formula below is used:
Attacks per second = (1 + IAS)/BAT
Note: IAS in this formula is a percentage, so you must divide your actual IAS by 100 before using it in this formula.
Example of formula:
Vengeful Spirit has a BAT of 1.7
If Vengeful Spirit has a total of 160 IAS, the formula will be as follows:
Attacks per second = (1 + 1.60)/1.7 = 1.53 times per second.
What is the best way to deal with Keeper of the Light? Every time I go up against him I either just eat his nuke trying to farm or get zoned out and fall really behind. I feel like it should be easy to avoid since it is such a long charge and easy to see, but I still get hit >.<
