God what a terrible forum.

I think most of the core whining has settled down, and the issue most are pissed about now is that Valve gave dotabuff 0 communication with no heads up, and then shut down their method of data collecting and suddenly brought up the webAPI a day before dotabuff plus and all the extra features launched. It's disrespectful at best, especially when dotabuff has been communicating with you for months and even warned you about several leaks in your client. The least you can do is send the most popular dota 2 third party site a warning or a heads up that they must soon switch to the webAPI.

Think many want the default option to be public as well, which I agree with. With all this "right to privacy" bullshit you'd think Valve is heading up the legal counsel on abortion. Make it default public so the people that want to hide their shitty stats can hide them, while the rest of the population that doesn't care doesn't have to go through a bunch of loops or have to tell every new friend/account how to enable stat tracking.

played three game with troll won all. really a good hero only thing i miss is his level 2 from dota which causes the hero to miss.
also played with whisp . i was just feeding fooder for opposite team

The melee form of Whirling Axes makes heroes miss 60% of the time. If that is what you are referring to.

Dotabuff's idea of communication was a couple of emails in the last few weeks with one employee at Valve.

I don't think there's much you can take their word on from their tantrum rant.

Aye it's fairly clear they are unprofessional and full of shit. I'd be more than happy to see the company go under and have someone else fill the void who are willing to paint within the lines.

Correct me if I'm wrong but they run some lol stats site right? Maybe they were trying to strong arm valve and win support from fans or something? I have no clue what they were doing. Maybe that works on riot I don't know. The twitter response is hilarious though.

I still don't get the big stink over everyone wanting public stats. If they're private, in any games you see that person, you'll see something like this:

Private Profile Queen of Pain 0/10/3

You still see how they did in that game, and if they didn't care enough to make their stats public, then they probably aren't worth looking up. You and your friends that frequently play? Probably all going to have yours public. Want to look up that random on your team when it's his second game? Probably going to be private, because he doesn't know, and that's probably for the better. I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

Your rate changes after a match depending on the rating of all the other players, if you don't know their precious rating, you can't calculate any rating coming out from that match, including yours.

This means if there are a lot of private stats, you cannot have rating, which the people complaining want.

Wouldn't your rating be calculated regardless of their private/public stats?

No, as you need the rating of everyone in the game to determine how everyones rank would change.
I thought you would still get the stats just not the name as it would spit out a gibberish steam id. If that id stayed the same through games then they would never know who you were (private) but they could still calculate a rating for that over time.

Someone wants to trade my unusual wardog courier for a genuine reef recluse (Tidehunter's offhand shark that replaces the anchor) how much is the reef recluse valued at in the market? Doesn't seem worth it to me

Depends on what your War Dog's effect is, as far as market value goes.

It's burning animus i think is the term they use, basically firey eyes. Didn't realize that the reef recluse is no longer sold out so I'll let that one go but so many unusual offers as soon as I said no, love my war dog tho so I'm not so keen. Not my only unusual but my first, sentimental value n all that.

Wish there was a spreadsheet on the values like TF2 has, I'm not the biggest trader but I do get these unsolicited friend adds from people who want my stuff and I never know whether it's really worth it. Frostivus effect is really cool though.

dota2prices.com

Might be easier to buy one of them:
Recluse Reef Denizen Genuine Mythical Tidehunter Valve store unlock 15 - 17 keys

vs your wardog
Enduring War Dog Unusual Mythical Burning Animus Chest 20 - 24 keys

Ask for 5-7 keys/10-14$

HOLY SHIT I'M THE BEST SPECTRE IN THE WORLD

FUCK DIFFUSAL

edit: i dont even know if that says a lot, just heard that pillow is #17 on spectre...

Time to get a team together for scrims against Milk's team Ksan.

And regarding that dota2prices website - it's very biased and skewed in favour of the owners. Be careful and don't use it as anything more than a quick reference. For actual price checks you'd want to hit up tf2outpost/r/dota2trade/dota2traders.com/dota2lounge and dota-trade.

Actually for the traders here, bazaar.tf just added a bunch of features in for Dota 2, so give it a look. They've got some additional features that tf2outpost doesn't have, and are just lacking in userbase, really.

Are you really #1? I told you my spectre was hot shit. My spectre's solo queue spectre though, eat shit.

Playing Luna is really fun, but sometimes I have trouble getting farm early with her because her range is shit, is it worth trying to skip a couple level of lucent beam early for the glaive so I can farm better? because doing the max lucent beam first build I feel like the ulti still isn't really that useful at level 1. I feel aiming for level 2 ulti at 11 before teamfighting would give me a smoother build, cause that's also right around the time it takes me to farm up boots+bkb.

Does anyone else do this?

The other passive should be more than enough to help you last hit. Getting points in glaives early will just push your lane. The only upside to doing so would be to easily harass someone, particularly if you are mid, but even then, it's a questionable strategy. And you shouldn't really be jungling or farming ancients that early.

The level one ult with maxed Lucent Beam is easily enough to solo kill someone if there are no creeps around to absorb the hits, and that can be such a huge boon to your farm that I think it's worth it.

I think it's just because at shit tier level all the solo queue supports(if there are any) never stack and pull and tend to try to last hit. It just makes it really annoying with Luna's short range. I end up having to go into jungle occasionally when the lane is pushed and jungling without glaives is awful.

Work on that last hitting she's fast. Glaive doesn't make you last hit better early on - that just means you are getting random farm from spamming autoattack.

That feel when you are Keeper and three people barely do any damage to you.

Also Dotabuff stops tracking stats when I go on a four game win streak I see how it is.

It's more of a range thing than actually getting the last hit that's the issue, if I wanted to go for last hits in the back they had plenty of time to harrass me a lot and luna is squishy as hell, had to buy a poor man's shield and aquilia to survive and be able to actually farm.

Like I said, it's mostly just a lack of proper supports at this level of play, if the lane was being pulled instead of pushed it probably wouldn't be an issue as much.

I'm undefeated with her so far and I always end up with around 300 LH, but early levels I have a hard time finding safe places to farm..
