All this discussion about SSJ forms reminds me of how much I like Toyble's explanation of them in his Dragonball AF doujin:

(This is pre-Battle of Gods mind you, hence lack of SSJ God).

Basically the bulky Ascended SSJ form from Android arc becomes Broly's LSSJ at Max power, a max power SSJ3 is the final stage of the hair growing stages, and SSJ4 is like a mastery of the Oozaru form itself. LSSJ is POWER, SSJ3 is SPEED, and SSJ4 is BALANCE between the two.

I mean, it's a doujin so I don't put much (any) stock into it, and this is a movie only transformation, but LSSJ is a completely different thing from bulky SSJ, in that Broly is still fast. Also, LSSJ literally RIPS out of Broly's skin.

Broly isn't as fast as SSJ2 though, and I don't ever recall LSSJ ripping out of Broly's skin, lol.

In fact all LSSJ did for Broly is pretty much increase his ki beyond normal levels, enough to possibly overwhelm him which is stated in movie 8. It gave him POWER basically, while something like SSJ2 and SSJ3 was more about getting faster AND more powerful.

Interaction between Goku and Beerus is really fun, headbutting thing was hilarious. As for the rest of the episode: that energy thing was way too long (chuckled at how Piccolo just stared at the light while everyone else braced for impact) and Satan was annoying as always. Just get rid of him.

Whis saying "Please let go of my hand" was the best part. I'm waiting for the part where everyone realizes that he's actually the strongest in the universe.

Broly didn't lose speed along with his giant muscle mass, that's what made him unique from USSJ and thus something new

As for the skin ripping thing:

While currently Broly isn't canon to the anime and manga series, Broly's case isn't that he's unique IMO, but more than his body build is 'normal' allowing him to move real fast and still punch like a meteor.

I do agree Broly is pretty damn fast, I'm just saying his power seems like it does focus more on power (aka ki) than anything else. Of course it's going to still make him pretty damn fast if he's mastered it or attained it somehow (likely natural ability). I really don't think it's all that different from the bulky forms in Android arc as you're suggesting, especially since Toriyama himself designed Broly and the form around that era of the anime. Of course Broly > Ultra Vegeta obviously cause Broly is about as strong as Perfect Cell so he SHOULD be stronger and faster than anything that competed with Semi-Perfect Cell.

broly's the shit ya'll

they need to bring him to the anime and have him kick everyone's ass and reclaim his birth earned right of the most badass saiyan

Broly was clearly portrayed as something different than the USSJ forms, especially in contrast to Trunks, who nearly had the power of a SSJ2 but was clearly shown to be sluggish in how he moved.

It's the "legendary" transformation, it's what it's always called, its meant to be its own thing unique to him.

Pretty good episode. Beerus is starting to become one of my favoite Dragonball characters. Love when he gets angry. Nice to see the battle finally conclude next episode. Want to see a battle or villian that's a bit more evil.

Btw, new ending theme sucks compared to the previous one. New ending animation is nice though.

Beerus and Whis are great. I think Whis is the most interesting new Dragon Ball character since... I don't know, Vegeta?

Beerus, Whis and Jaco are all awesome additions to the DB universe. Hope whatever characters Toriyama is cooking up for the new material keep up the quality.

I don't even know Jaco. I may or may not get to reading the manga with him but I hope he's actually interesting in Super by itself. He seemed pretty superfluous in RoF.

This was a great episode. Loved the way Vegeta interfered to stop Piccolo's stupidity and Beerus patronizing Goku. The fight scenes were very well done too. Can't wait for the episodes bridging BoG and RoF.

Broly would walk right through Super Perfect Cell. If Broly was scaled to the series he would be a bit weaker than SSJ3 Goku.
Sure maybe in Movie 10, but in Movie 8 he was about the same. Somewhat weaker.

Broly isn't that powerful. I guess he is in the new Dragonball Heroes stuff with his SSJ4 form but regardless.

Any debate about Broly will always run in people disagreeing about the benchmarks, like how powerful Goku and Gohan are supposed to be in the first movie (they use their post-RoSaT designs, but aren't using SSJ all the time, Gohan is weaker than Goku and they don't seem to be significantly stronger than Vegeta and Trunks) and whether Gohan was using SSJ2 through the battle or not in the 2nd one.

There's also is Gohan in Movie 10 weaker than when he fought Cell like in the main series?

Super Perfect Cell would destroy Movie 10 Broly.

If you have to ask, it's super saiyan 1.

I loved that, its like he was just "well i guess that's that."

I like how they scaled back the rich from destroying the universe to destroying "earth and several nearby star systems". I wonder if they heard the complaints about the jump from star busters or solar system busters to universe busters.

EDIT: Then again the sentence later they said "that power is capable of destroying the universe"...So forget series consistency, it's jumping from worlds to universe in the same 5 minutes in one episode!

Amazing episode, in every sense. The fight is more exciting than in the movie, I'm happy to know that it will really end next week.

It's weird that they kept Bulma's design from the ROF movie, she is as young as she was in DB.

Jaco needs to be a good addition in Super by itself. I don't like the idea that we need to engage in some other outside media to get to know a character who will just show up to be a part of the main pie.

I guess he was fine in the movie, but he just seemed so random.

jaco is super elite tho

Ha, I loved Jaco in the movie. I need to read that manga.

All these new characters have been great actually. Whis, Beerus, Jaco. Let's see how Champa and his companion turn out.

searching by its japanese title" ginga patrol jako" on google will help you find it
