Finally caught up and they need to hurry up with Ressurection F's Saga cause I'm so excited for that 5v5 tournament with Champa's Universe. Literally Dragonball Multiverse on a smaller scale. If Whis decides to train Gohan, Piccolo, and Goten/Trunks (probably as Gotenks) in prep for the tournament, it could finally be their chance to catch up with the OP Super Sayain Gods.
I finally watched Resurrection F myself the other night and was a little confused by Frieza's mention of having been in "Earth's Hell," and that destroying the Earth would also destroy Hell too.
I know the hell we've seen before the anime isn't canon, but does that mean in Toriyama's view, hell isn't one catch-all dimension for bad people (like the rest of Otherworld) but that each planet has its own individual hell?

We already know Goten and Trunks slacked off at the end of Z so it's better not to waste time on them. If Gohan gets another power up again he will inevitably stop training again and lose it like twice before so he would also be a waste of space.
It would be cool if Beerus could find some new blood and enter them in the tournament or keep Freeza alive in Super and force him to compete in exchange for not sending him to hell.
He's really the strongest in this universe along with Goku and Vegeta. He just needs to do some cardio to compete.

If DB Online is at all canon then Trunks and Goten start a swordsmanship school and learned how to imbed ki energy into their sword attacks at some point.
That would be cool as hell to see realized in older versions of them (End of Z era) which is why it won't happen

More Ki questions. When Goku got punched in the junk, was he consciously directing his Ki to his junk for it not to be pulverized? Or is it inherently durable?

I like how Super emphasises each hit rather than how like how DB did unlike how DBZ just shows a blur effect.

At this point I wouldn't be shocked if the end of DB gets retconned.
Yeah, some of those exchanges between beerus and goku did give me little flashbacks to how fights were handled in DB. A much bigger emphasis on technique, fight choreography, and close combat. There's still beam struggles, punch rushes, and high speed blurry movement out the ass, but equal emphasis has been given to both styles of fights so far.

There were blurry moments in Super too. DBZ fights weren't all blur.

The original Dragon Ball anime followed the look of the manga more by using speed lines on the the punches and kicks and messing with the background more.
This was done away with in z presumably because the character designs were more detailed. Only the more talented animators kept the lines, and other guys like ushiyama just warped the character designs to look simple and ugly just so they could move.

Making the arms just a bunch of speed lines doesn't seem to be how Super does things now though. Way less common.

I would be surprised actually. The biggest reason they'd have to completely scrap the end of Z (rather than, say, just redesigning Bulma and Kuririn to make them look younger) would be Goten and Trunks turning out to be so useless as older teens, but Toriyama seems to have shown little interest in them recently.
They're still heavily promoted by Bandai and Toei, but nowadays it seems like Toei follows Toriyama's direction for the series itself. Ever since the RoF build up started in Super, Goten has only gotten one or two lines per episode while Trunks doesn't even appear. I think that says a lot.
Last episode was kind of meh for me. Looking forward to the Resurrection of F arc starting this week though. There are a lot of ways the TV show could improve on the movie so I hope they take those opportunities.
Good choreography is really important for good fight scenes. Many DBZ fights are unimpressive in this regards and the ones that people tend to remember (like both Goku vs. Vegeta fights) they do so because of the strength of the choreography.
