And ? You need to point me out that i am wrong or something ? No i am not wrong. It is frankly hilarious that you even argue such fucking dumb argument that if there is sunny day then this is poor cyberpunk or something.
I was arguing that when people hear cyberpunk, they expect blade Runner and film noir. That's just the way it is.And ? You need to point me out that i am wrong or something ? No i am not wrong. Yeah, but when there is so much people saying something doesn't look like they expected, even renowned authors of the genre, don't you think that maybe there is a possibility that they kinda have a point?William Gibson then can eat a dick then. While his work is great he isn't the one who says what something is or isn't cyberpunk. Probably he never ever heard of Cyberpunk PnP in first place.
I expected forum moderation to at least warn users who disrespect others.Ok then what did you expect ?
As someone who considers a few people who were sporting a mohawk at some point in the past as friends, I agree with the last statement. Mohawks are a bit too tryhard these days.As regards Cyberpunk PnP. I'll be honest, Pondsmiths approach to cyberpunk has always been 'these dials go up to 11' which isn't to everyone's taste. I'm just happy to be getting an open world Cyberpunk game. Less thrilled about the endless mohawks aspects though.
Just joking. I get that the two trailers taking together without a background reading and fan-forum deep-dive do give a confusing or misleading impression. I feel that too.

And who is Mike Pondsmith ? some random dude ? He made one of the most popular PnP setting which shitload of people played and even wrote books about.
Because calling someone dense after repeadly asking him to check source is now some great slur
Be polite, please
In general when posting in threads, don't be a dick. Be respectful of other fellow members, and learn to argue against the points in a discussion without making it personal or insulting the other party. Present your points well and others will respect your opinion more. Using proper grammar and avoiding typos will also make it easier for others to understand your message.
I don't know, but even by RPG standards Cyberpunk 2020 was always a bit niche. Even at RPG conventions it was never easy to find many who played it (and believe me I've tried). Most popular are probably DnD, World of Darkness and Pathfinder, respectively local heroes like The Dark Eye/Das Schwarze Auge in Germany. According to the sales stats over at DrivethruRPG, Genesys seems to be the hot new kid in town. And who is Mike Pondsmith ? some random dude ? Where do they find these idiots?
What makes this setting cool and different is that there is no moral battle here. It is not Blade Runner or other from genre where authors try to look at fight between small and big, wealthy and poor.
This setting (at least 2020) is literally one big soup of people who want to trample one another in rising to the top and they will make everything they can to show everyone else they are the fucking most "gangsta" of them all, trample on everyone, poor, rich as long as it gets them to the top.
There is an interview with Mike Pondsmith in what looks to be Cyberpunk 2077's official youtube channel, and the images they use while describing the game are night time in a big city, with city lights, billboards, dark alleys... what you normally would expect for the genre. And who is Mike Pondsmith ? some random dude ? I don't know why they chose to do the trailer the way they did it.
Yeah, I'm still not thrilled with the trailer, but I think they intentionally wanted to break from convention which is fine. The part that bothers me is not that this doesn't feel like the Night City I would have imagined (again OK), but that you have the PC in the trailer saying how Night City is considered the worst place to live, but then proceed show a clean and bright future city-scape. Just didn't seem to fit.I don't know why they chose to do the trailer the way they did it.
Word on the street is this is a FPS RPG? That's not what I was expecting.
Here's some live footage right now too:
CDPR got their Netrunners working overtime.Tweet was deleted with a quickness.

I looked up more information about the game and watched the trailer a couple more times and am starting to enjoy the setting. But, given the city is called night city, I can help but think that at one point during development they might have considered making the city permanently at night or mostly night time with some excuse. And game will feature those. At night.
Well since it's going to have melee I am glad that it's going to be in first person(while in third person during cutscnes) as Witcher 3 did not have good 3rd person gameplay(from what I have heard). I do hope that their gameplay is good in first personTBH I was expecting 1st person and custom character (actually, I was totally sure of custom character), because one of the main (DUMB) complaints people had about Witcher 3 was it wasn't like Skyrim.
GOD I'm so happy it's first person.
It's called Night City due the name of the founder.I looked up more information about the game and watched the trailer a couple more times and am starting to enjoy the setting. - First person perspective RPG (Described as a a first and foremost a role playing game with shooter elements)
I took some notes from the IGN interview: -
- Emphasis is on Noir as the game itself in terms of story, missions, tone etc and not just look.
behind closed doors today.Strange way of showing it, given the trailer's vibe. Anyway, were's the damn gameplay footage.
