So, basically, in the deepest, darkest depths of your soul you feel that this "console war" is important enough to put on record that this game won't save the PS3 (I like how you added that it doesnt need saving anyways), JUST so that the "xbots" will one day come back to this thread, looking for "ammo" (:lol jesus, stop me anytime folks), but instead find your post.

And there they run, those xbots. Look at them run from shame as there is no ammo here for them to...

Fuckin christ. Console wars? Seriously? GTFO of our awesome Trico thread of TUESDAY MEGATON.

EDIT: Just to make sure you come out of this post with a renewed sense of purpose: its a sequel to one of the most artistic, fun games ever created. Enjoy it. I wouldnt give a shit if this was on the 360.

Sorry.

I love Ico. It's one of my favorite games. The whole point was that I wanted this game to exist outside of the "console wars" bullshit, but alas, it was an epic backfire.

My apologies.

I'm just glad Sony is putting so much money in such a niche project.
Not many developers take such risks.

I agree and am incredibly thankful that they kept Team ICO going strong after ICO's sales weren't so great. Ueda's games are enough to get me to buy whatever system it's on. I promise you just knowing that Ueda would eventually make a PS3 game did heavily factor into my purchase of a 60 GB PS3 near launch despite knowing it was years away.

However, I actually think TRICO could be reasonably successful if marketed properly (a big "if" with Sony unfortunately...). Just the imagery of the boy and that giant griffin interacting is very striking and unlike anything else. It would be great if Sony found a way to get some exposure for this game to the mainstream so they could at least see it in motion.

the people that are hating on this may be spawns on the devil.

Seriously, this looks fantastic.

Even if this is just test footage, Im really impressed.

I get throw backs to Panzer Dragoon II Zweii's early chapters when your dragoon starts as a baby dragoon

(enter speculation mode) for sure that the Griffin is going to grow into a mother fuckin' bad ass kicking Griffin by the later stages of the game (exit speculation mode)

Nothing like waking up to a cup of delicious coffee and a HUGE TEAM ICO's induced BON*R !

A sense of melancholy, empathy, and joy coated in an already visually beautiful package...

Look.

I loved SotC as much as anyone.

But doesn't anyone else find it weird that on GAF, for certain games, it's somehow a mortal sin and an indicator of lack of intelligence to be skeptical of a game that hasn't even been released?!

Since when was having an opinion stupid?

I would be quite disaapointed if the real music dosnt sound like the music in this trailer. It has indeed spoiled me. :(

Anyone got a direct download link to this music track?
Judging from Ico and SOTC, the music is the last thing you need to worry about. I love this developer SO MUCH.

Even GAF has their Godheads.

When i watched the video this morning at first glance the creature just looked way too unsettling, but that's why it really works for me,that initial fear turning into adoration, that happens in all the best child finds a magical creature stories. I imagine it goes the same way for the character imagine seeing that thing coming out of the darkness, you'd shit yourself.

i honestly wouldn't care if the game came out looking like this test footage as long as the gameplay was as pure as it was in Ico and SOTC

But i have no doubt that this footage has been easily surpassed can't wait for the new reveal. :D

The idiotic negative comments about that footage in this thread are flawless examples of soulless myopic geeks on the Internet. Jesus F**King Christ.

I love how the stats work as you can see similar sized threads (post wise) with far less views. Come on guys, don't be afraid to admit this looks amazing. sprsk said it best when we need to let go of any kind of "allegiance" and just appreciate the moment. Very few times do games impact like this brief clip does. We are all stuck in the age of violent shooters and AAA franchises when this kind of game is what redefines what games are once again thanks to Fumito Ueda.

Well as many have said if it was a fake, someone should hire the one'S that made it as soon as possible, mostly due to the way these things animate. The rat/griffyn creature seems so real and has so much lifelike presence that it could be included in a documentary about some new species.

I really think this is for real the next UEDA project, Give me some exploration, not too much combat and I will be happy for quite some time in this setting.

Can't wait to E3 , nice way to begin my day tough.

I couldn't agree more with the person who said that they'd happily play the game if nothing changed from this video. The idea of working with the griffin, being dependent on one another, as a game mechanic but at the same time crafting a relationship through these actions is potentially very exciting. People spoke of the attachment they gained to the companion cube in Portal, this could be much greater than that due to the interactions you have with the griffin.

This is hilarious. I can't believe folks are bringing in sales and consoles brands into a discussion on an Ueda game. This is a release for our medium, and benefits everyone.

Seriously. I can't believe this is getting hate on here.

I'm not even a Ueda fan (enjoyed Ico but never played SotC) and I don't see what's so terrible.

It's Ico-ish in every possible way. It looks poetic, it has style, it has emotions, it's based on the interactions between two characters...

Really, I don't get it. What the hell are all those people crying for Trico on GAF expecting ?

I agree.

Their is definitely a gap in maturity on this board, thankfully it's not as bad as other boards, but it's still there.

Wow, I'm glad to see they use all of the experience gained with Shadow of the Colossus, taking extreme care with the feet and hands location to avoid clipping, and all the body inertia that is affected by the movement of the surface the character is on. They have the best technology for these thing in gaming industry, for sure. It's gonna suprise me again, just like SOC did.

Can't wait

I dare you to have the balls to post this in the next new Mario game thread. :lol :lol

It's just hype, but with this teams pedigree and the video I don't see any real reason to be skeptical unless your just a debbie downer.

looks totally fucking amazing.

you can always count on these guys to bring the goods conceptually. can't wait to see how much better it looks visually now.

Looks really great. But I hope the tombs aren't only setting in the game.
It might be placeholder or whatever, but the way the outside buildings were constructed made it seem like they were pre-disposed to be broken and ruined by having the pokemon run into them or whatever.

I think the issue here is that this trailer looks incredible. It seems to mash the companionship of Ico with the large size creatures of SOTC. If you are a fan of these games, I don't understand what's not to like.

If you don't like the Ico games, then Im not sure why you are posting in this thread to begin with...

I thought it looked unbelievable. Ueda is everything i wanted Nintendo to be (the Zelda team).

The guy is will be one of the greats.

Looks promising. I really hope there isn't some sappy, tear-jerking moment between the boy and the badger-cat-bird...like it ends up dying or something....

I still can't watch that episode of Futurama with Fry's dog....you know the one I'm referring to.

People are so fucking cynical and warped by basement-dweller game design and the rockin' cockin' size of giant rockin' cockin' COOL GUNZ AND OPEN WURLDS that we're at the point where a boy helping a griffin is somehow a bad thing.

I hate puppies! And cupcakes! Fuck cupcakes!

The first movie made that episode a lot less sad, lol

I wonder if the boy can tend to wounds on the kitty-griffon. Like take out arrows and things.

I don't want to know he's in pain :(

I'm sure the thing with meow-squawk at you if it wants something. Or eat you. It doesn't get to be that size without eating raw meat.

Maybe we're misreading the trailer, the whole time Cat-Weasel is playing with its' child-food.

Sony really are fools for letting their biggest gun of E3 get leaked.

There is nothing else Sony has that can top Ueda's next masterpiece. and it looks like it will be another legendary game just how SoTC and ICO were.
