Is that a Netflix type of deal but for magazines?
Zinio, where you can buy the newest Edge later today, has a desktop reader. I'll update the OP with info for all digital platforms.
'Bland combat, wayward camera, stodgy missions'
I loved the first Gravity Rush and to date is the only game I've platinumed. Just finished GR2 today too and can perfectly understand why it would get a 6.
I understand (I can agree with the bad camera and some bad missions), it's just weird that they give the first one an 8 when it has even worse combat and camera. I know different reviewers but still I think mags should check these things.
Sure is. For the UK at least it's got Edge, OXM, OPM, Gamesmaster, GamesTM, etc. as well as their European counterparts.

(And if you've ever wanted to be horrified at the number of gun magazines the the US produces then it's great.)
I think the first one got a pass because, well, it was the first one. EDGE expects sequels to provide meaningful improvements to the previous game's flaws. The review reads as though they prefer the original, and they refer to the original often.
Was waiting for RDR2. Disappointed.
Brief synopsis?
- Launch day lineup is slim pickings
- Third party support worse than at Wii U launch
- Splatoon 2 and MK8 should have been launch games but being used to pad out barren post-launch schedule
- Led to believe that combining home console and portable businesses would get more games and that they'd come quicker but not the case
- Console priced higher than hoped and no pack-in to soften the blow
- Games and accessories are too expensive
- Paid online service with one free rotating game among the bad decisions
- Switch + Zelda is around same price as PS4 Pro and PSVR and significantly more expensive than PS4 Slim or Xbox One S with game
- As a portable, up against smart devices and their free games
Gravity Rush 2 got a 6?
Interesting, I thought the demo was crappy and I guess I was right.

My fave gaming mag! Great cover like almost always. Will be buying like I've done every month for about 15 years, even though its almost 15 euros here in the Netherlands lol.

So the entirety of their coverage is negative?
There is magic in this console: the witchcraft of changing displays, the playful, flexible functionality of the joy-cons, the intriguing new twist of HD Rumble.
...
...while it may disappoint as a home console, it's a brilliant handheld... a fully portable Wii U that supports multi-player and motion controls out of the box.
...
Perhaps there are better ways to spend your money in 2017, but nothing else on shelves may offer quite so much potential to surprise.

Absolute feckin shite.6 for Gravity Rush 2...seems like Edge's usual attempt at edginess...
Yoshi a 6? Is it bad on 3DS? It was a damn masterpiece on Wii U...6 seems harsh...

I guess the last few people reading magazines want to read negative gaming news?
Hard to argue with any of these.
Switch definitely has potential, but it also has some big, big hurdles to overcome.

Kind of mirroring what i think about the Switch.

I played the first game on Vita and it was poor, I played the demo on PS4 and it was poor. The 6 doesn't surprise me at all.
Collecting gems scratched the same itch as Crackdown for me. Loved the world, even if the combat was a mixed bag and some of the quests were a bit banal. There was a lot to appreciate in ways that many super hero games fail. I find it hard to call that poor but I haven't read the sequel's review yet.I played the first game on Vita and it was poor, I played the demo on PS4 and it was poor. The 6 doesn't surprise me at all.
The main plus was that Nathan felt no other hardware has the same potential to surprise this year. I still think VR has a good amount of surprises in store for us.Kind of mirroring what i think about the Switch.
As a non hardcore Nintendo guy with a Wii U it seems i should wait until Switch is a lot cheaper.
No it's not. This is as bad as the people ITT being salty about the score. Don't do this.

No it's not.
He's giving his opinion. He's not antagonizing anyone.

Standalone yes. But he's replying to someone else. For starters, a Edge 6 is not poor. Second, plain stating something is 'poor' without any further elaboration will never lead to an interesting discussion. It's empty hyperbole. Third, it comes across as nothing more than bait.
But that's just my opinion.

Hell yeah at that 9 for Resident Evil 7!
But WTF at that 6 for Gravity Rush 2?
Wow, is Telltale's Batman really that bad?
So they are critical about launch lineup and price. Are they enthusiastic about other things? All these are fair points in my opinion.

As usual, that's a moot market, of course Switch does portable gaming the best, it's a simple purpose device. Your $700 smartphone does a ton of daily life activities much more important than gaming, oh, it just so happens to double as a competent gaming device with like a gazillion titles on the app store. Whole lot of garbage, but now a ton of gems are on mobile as well. What kind of smart device can I buy for $300 with anywhere near Tegra X1 power that includes a game controller, HDMI dock and a 6" screen? I agree on the slim release schedule though.
Eager to see what type of scores they give Nioh, Nier, and Horizon.

Yeah my first thought, not the most flattering angle.Switch controller already looks retro
