Ever met a celebrity? What were they like?

I partied with Weezer once. Rivers was quiet and reserved, Patrick and Scott were awesome, Brian was a little stuck up.

Met Susan Sarandon in a drugstore when I was 11. My mom had let me dye my hair blue, and Susan Sarandon waved me down an aisle, asked me about my hair, touched it and told me it was cool. Completely in love with her ever since. I've been like near a couple other famous people, but that was the only time I interacted with one.

Jonathan Frakes - I actually had pizza with him while I was in college at Penn State. He grew up in the area and he was behind me in line at Gumby's Pizza, this was like 20 years ago. We started chatting and ended up sitting down together at the only empty table in the place, about noontime on a Saturday. Very down to Earth guy, had lots to say about Next Generation but we talked more about my time at PSU to be honest. Oh, and he had the beard at the time...

Dat beard

I met him when he was in Australia for Oz Comic-Con and he was a great guy. There were a few people who did photos and signings like zombies, just kind of mumbling and fake smiling, but Frakes was really in to it. He even noticed the tattoo on my girlfriend's shoulder and commented on how good it was, which turned in to a converstaion about tattoos.

Another good one was Richard Dean Anderson. For both the signings and photos he was very talkative and thankful, and his Q&A session was amazing. He had long hair at the time and was jokingly using the giant flat screen above him to play with his hair.

Sean Astin was amazing. His agent was coming along and telling everyone to try and be brief with him, as he often ran over time talking with people about just about anything. When we finally got to the front he was still bubbly and talkative and very happy to meet someone with the same spelling of Sean.

Karl Ubran was great too. Saw him at a convention and our group had a bit of a chat, with him giving me a hard time for being the only person not in a costume. I promised to do better next time.

Not really celebrities but I've spoken with Jello Biafra, Chali 2na, and Sage Francis. I also shook Hillary Clinton's hand during the 2008 primaries when she had a rally here.

Cary Elwes - Was shooting some indie movie out in my podunk town. Despite filming right along the highway, there was really no one around. I was content to sit on the sidelines and just watch the goings-on for awhile, but he noticed and came out and introduced himself and talked for awhile. He seemed like an incredibly nice guy. I'm pretty sure he was also using an American accent. I didn't think anything of it at the time, it wasn't until later that I remembered he's English.

Other than that, just some metal bands, the noteworthy ones being:

August Burns Red - All really cool guys. Matt and Jake always (in my experience) make an effort to hang out with fans when they can. I also caught Dustin coming out of a shop and walked with him back to the venue. Just small talk but he was a nice guy.

Insomnium - They seemed a little stand-offish, but to be fair I just walked up and wanted to shake their hands, didn't really have anything to say. So that could easily have been my fault.

Andre Agassi...complete a-hole.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar...shot free throws with him and he was a total gentleman.

Sam Perkins...Big Smooth was big and smooth. Really chill dude.

Well I sat across from Kris Humphries in one of my classes in college.

He wasn't famous yet but he was still fairly known at the time as a good college player.

He never really said a word though, but certainly wasn't an a-hole or anything.

I have a pretty long list but by far the nicest celeb I've met was Harrison Ford. For a guy who is as famous as you can possibly be, he was ridiculously humble and engaging.

i met the guys in Thrice a bunch of times at various shows over the years. Even debated the existence of god w/ Dustin Kensrue after a set one time. my tattoo artist was w/ me and she was literally in tears lol.

Seen Brother Ali a few times since I live in Minneapolis.

He's a really really nice guy. But the weird thing was that no one knew who he was, even in Minneapolis, and that was in 2004 when he was like the best rapper out during that time.

I met Edward Furlong late one night when he stayed at the Rica Talk Hotel in Stockholm for some sci-fi event. We hanged out in the bar and had some beers. We talked about his movies and he loved the fact that I like Brainscan because "no one else likes it".

He was very nice and we talked for over an hour. He signed the backside of my phone and we took some crazy, crazy photos, or should I say he did. Good times.

That's awesome. How long ago was this?

Met Phylicia Rashad outside of a pizza place in the Bronx as a kid. Couldn't be nicer, her motherly aura was amazing. Met a lot of others but nothing beats the Cosby wife in my eyes. Also met Hayley from Paramore when they were still a young up and coming band, very cute in person.

Back when I worked at EB in Santa Barbara, I sold games to Dennis Miller and David Arquette.

Dennis Miller just seems unfriendly. He ends up buying some shitty knockoff skating game, only to come back an hour later trading it in for Aggressive Inline Skating. It was for his nephews birthday and they said the game sucked and to exchange it for the better one. I think he came around at least twice during my time there.

David Arquette came in with a buddy of his, and just started chatting up a storm with me and the other associate. He seemed like a really chill dude. He wandered around the store and found a action figure of the Character he voiced in SSX. He comes up to us saying he had no clue they created a figure for that guy and he had to have it. He asked for suggestion for PS2 games, and seeing how Vice City had come out the week before, we got him to buy that as well. I remember having to ask for his ID because of a credit card purchase (company policy) and he gives us a funny look, like "you know who I am". His address was on Beverly Hills Boulevard.

During my time in Santa Barbara i also worked for Santa Barbara Downtown Parking and saw a few stars roll through. Pierce Brosnan, Rob Lowe, Kathy Ireland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dennis Miller again, Kevin Costner, kirk Douglass to name a few.

My sisters boyfriend at the time worked for a nice tile laying company down there. He worked at a couple high end houses, notably Oprah's ridiculously expensive house and Michael Douglass & Catherine Zeta Jone's house. He also got a chance to meet them.

My sister trumps most people I know. She worked for a couple years as a front desk clerk at a super high end resort in Montecito called San Ysidro Ranch. She met so many stars its crazy. The whole cast of Seinfeld, billy crystal, Robin Williams, Mariah Carey. There is a lot more, but I would have to ask her. That was back when Mariah Carey was having her breakdown, and the story goes that Mariah would not sleep in the bed room and instead calls up the desk late at night demanding a bunch of humidifiers. She slept in the closet with a ton of humidifiers and ended up causing thousands in damage because she ruined the wall paper.

Santa Barbara was a fun place to live. SOOOOO many hot women everywhere.

Hmmm.. Not too many. My family is friends with Ty Burrell and he was my babysitter when I was little. He's pretty much like he is on Modern Family. He plays himself on that show.

Met Jimmy Velvet, who had a few hit songs and wrote songs for Elvis. SUPER nice guy.

My mom worked for a music venue so she knows a lot more than I do.

Most famous? Keanu.
he was pretty much how you would imagine, polite/quiet/fairly friendly, had a beard and was walking around with his mum.

Have met a fair few musicians.
most notably on a global scale, probably Gotye, super friendly dude.

i met Ronnie James Dio after a show in Palo Alto,CA at the Edge. A bunch of people waited a while after the show and he came out and signed autographs for a long time. I've heard stories about him staying hours just signing and talking to people after the shows.

He would talk to everyone and was just an amazing guy. I was so nervous but he was so cool, it was very easy to talk to him.

James Kottak was there(He was filling in for a few shows on that tour), but i saw him get into the cab after the show and left quick.

I also got to meet Tracy G. He was really cool.

I played shows with Hayley Williams before she was in Paramore. Nice girl, but can't say I remember a lot about her.

The guitarists from Protest the Hero were awesome (and high as hell). Talked to them for a bit at Warped Tour, told them Arif got me into wanting to be more technical on the bass. Coolest moment for me of all time.

The Hannah Montana movie shot a few scenes in my town, and I went with my mom and two sisters to watch them film just for shits and giggles. At the end of the shoot, Miley dashed in her car and all of the little girls standing around me started tearing up. It was Emily Osment who came over to sign photographs to a few of them, thanking them for being fans of the show and coming out to watch how it was all done.

Quentin Tarantino, Johnny Knoxville, and David Koechner also shot something here. I didn't get to met any of them, but my friend met Koechner and said the guy was hilarious in real life. He has a photo of him giving him a huge hug on his fridge.

Has anyone here met Hugh Jackman? He strikes me as the kind of guy who would take the time to be nice and friendly with anyone even if his pants were ablaze...he competes with Keanu as seemingly nicest person in Hollywood.

He took his time with everyone at The Wolverine premiere and was trying to get to as many fans as he could before being ushered in to the cinema. I think I posted a more in detail post in this thread earlier...Here we go:

Hugh Jackman was right in front of me, was being ushered in, stopped, turned, pointed at the card thing I wanted signed while looking a little apologetic and saying something to me but I couldn't hear it.

I've met Lucio (the ex Bayern player) at the Frankfurt Airport;
Milton Nacimento (brazilian musician) since he had a beach house next to the one my uncle had rented, nice guy
Some politicians
I missed Romario because I couldnt go to a family beach reunion where they met him :(

Can't remember what election it was but Bush Sr was in Florida campaigning like a mofo for the elderly vote... My grandparents had a place down in the Keys and one night when we were out to dinner we noticed Bush making his way around the restaurant, shaking everyone's hand and chatting. Bush finally made his way to our table and the first person he approached was my grandfather. He extended his hand and said something about hoping he could count on my grandfather's vote... and my grandfather just sat there in silence, stared back at Bush for a few long moments before Bush finally recovered and quickly moved on to another table. Up until that point I had assumed my grandfather was a republican.

I met Danny Carey from Tool this summer when I saw his side-project play a small club. The band was hanging out in the bar area after the show.

Very nice and humble guy. I think he felt more nervous and awkward about the attention than his fans did about meeting him.

I was hanging out at Bar Marmont about a year ago and I was trying to get change for the meter where I parked my car. I went all over the place and nowhere had quarters. I ended up going to the hotel valet and they didn't have quarters. But a nice guy gave me a dollar in quarters and said no when I handed him a $1 bill. That nice guy turned out to be Keanu Reeves.

If I had a chance to sit down and have a conversation with any actor it would have to be this guy. Whenever anyone seems to meet or have any interaction with Keanu Reeves, they speak about him as if he's such a genuine person.

Did you guys actually get to stop and talk, or did you realise later on?

Before the band fun. was rich and popular, they played a show in Vancouver, BC. I went because I was a fan of lead singer Nate Ruess' former band The Format.

Before the show, I stopped at the bar to grab a drink, and Nate Ruess showed up to grab one as well. He ordered a rum and Coke, but found out the bar couldn't take plastic, and that he'd have to use the ATM to take out Canadian cash to pay for his drink. Seeing the hassle, I decided to pay for him. We spent a few minutes conversing and finishing up our drinks before he went on stage. In fact, during the show, he screwed up some of his own lyrics, and stopped mid-song and called himself out on it. I like to think I had something to do with that. :)

Very nice guy. He didn't want me to pay, but I insisted. Very friendly.

One day I'll run into him at another show, and force him to buy me a drink now that he's all rich and famous.

Athletes are the only celebrities I've ever met.

Mean Joe Green
Franco Harris
Lynn Swann
David DeCastro
Mike Adams
Ike Taylor
Jerome Bettis
Joakim Noah
Carlos Boozer
Brian Scalabrine
Ronnie Brewer

I used to 'meet' a lot of Dutch celebs when I was going to Techno raves. All of them really cool and relaxed, but I guess E will do that to you. Doutzen Kroes and 100% isis made the biggest impression, absolutely stunning woman.

Fatman scoop visited the club I worked for. Went backstage with him for pics and stuff. He was a total wreck. took 20 minutes to recover from a 15 minutes onstage show.

Robert Geißen
Millionair, very known in germany
met him on ibiza, total asshole

Let's see.

Tom Morello - he shook my hand and thanked me for helping out in setting up his show at our theatre.

Crispin Glover - Very weird and "artistic" he ignored me when I tried to shake his hand. Before I showed up he supposedly almost pushed the stage we built for him onto our creative manager.

Mike Teevee and Veruca Salt. Asked if they needed anything Veruca who has the most awesome wicked British accent wanted another Mojito.

Keith Coogan who was Brad in adventures of Baby Sitting. Talked to him for just a bit nothing to really remember.

Doug Benson... Talked to him very briefly and did certain... things with him.

I used to go to Tom Berengers house every other week or so with my buddy. My friends parents were friends with him so we'd go over there and use his Jet Ski's or spend the night in the guest house. It was pretty cool, we'd just go get drunk and party with his daughters.

Tom was a bit of a burnout though.

Oh, also when I worked at the movie theatre, I had to deny a free movie pass from John Elway. He was dressed in very plain clothes, a cap, and sunglasses. I didn't even know it was him until I read the name on his credit card.

Michael and Kitty Dukakis came into the Target I was working at a couple Christmas' ago and I helped them pick out toys for their grandchildren. They were both really nice. He was shocked by how expensive everything was.

Nobou Uematsu, Akira Yamoka, Idr... eh, you know what? The only celebrity that has actually meant something was meeting EviLore :D Such a nice guy - not banning me despite ban betting (and losing) with him in real life! Was such an awesome time meeting up with lots of SWEGAFers and show EviL around Stockholm and my town.

Sycophant. :p

I get to go to the BAFTA's and IFTA's for the last 5 years so I've bumped into a few celebs. Have never met any really mean or bitchy celebs, unless you include people who work in Irish TV (but I don't count them). Though the weirdest/surrealist meeting would have been with Woody Allen, really nice guy, but super shy. didn't really want to chat about his films, but I mentioned that I had seen him in concert the last time I was in NYC and he smiled and said thanks.

Nicest:

Michael Fassbender - loves Guinness, nicest actor I've ever met. Have met up with him a good few times since in both London and Dublin.
Saorise Ronan - really down to earth and super nice
Jack Nicholson - personification of cool
Jennifer Lawerence - really nice
George Clooney - very nice and chatty about his films, even the bad ones.
Mark Kermode - chatted with him about his BBC Radio 5Live show and his latest book
Nigel Floyd - really nice guy, super knowledgeable about films
Paul Thomas Anderson - Kept to himself, but was nice when I said "hi" to him
Danial Day Lewis - very shy guy, very tall too. but very pleasent.
Hugh Jackman - really nice and chatted to everyone
Christoper Nolan - nice guy to talk to in general but when he talks about film he came across more intense.
Robin Wiliams - chatted more about games then his movies, was saying he was looking forward to BF3
James Cameron - said hi and we fist bumped, told him he was still "king of the world" (Avatar had just came out) and he smiled
Kathryn Bigalow - very nice lady
Russell Crowe - very cool dude, spent about 30 mins talking about Munster taking on the All Blacks in rugby and how he wanted to go the game in Limerick, but didn't know if his schedule would allow him.
Stephen Fry - he's exactly how you think he would be.

I don't usually take pics, but I do have a few on my PC.

I think we have a winner.

While I worked in fine dining;

Kevin Spacey. Super awesome nice guy.

Matt Dillon. Nice guy with the hottest date I've ever seen.

George Bush ( the dad ). Asshole and shit tipper.

Sting: he was actually wearing a Police shirt. Other than that pretty nice dude.

Ran into Flea at a bar in San Francisco. Pretty cool dude.

Was at a Girl talk concert and Ron Jeremy came and sat next to me and started blabbing his mouth off. Pretty sure he was on some sort of drug. I shook his hand. I regret it to this day. Weirdo
