From family (sigh) I wonder if Jesus would still be coming if Romney got elected? Pure stupidity.

We need education reform so very badly.

Why are you friends with these people?

Family, not friend. If I delete them from my facebook they'll question me and I don't feel like talking to them if I don't have to. Normally, they are hidden, but I just had to see what they said. Exactly as I expected. You really have no idea how hidden in ignorance these people are until you encounter them first hand on a daily basis. It's exhausting not being able to say anything.

I read that, and i keep thinking it's a joke, because it's very funny.

"Come quickly Lord Jesus!"

:lol
NaCl incoming... This is why religious people scare me. They sound like crazy people just repeating crazy phrases instead of sitting down and talking about things. BTW, none of those replies were me. I haven't posted anything political, partly because I feel like I am above that, but also I don't swing crazy hard either way.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Rush Limbaugh is fucking hilarious right now guys.

donald trump has a mini meltdown on twitter, sorry if it's already been posted and discussed / mocked.

Let's fight like hell and stop this great and disgusting injustice! The world is laughing at us.

This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!

Our nation is a once great nation divided!

Our country is now in serious and unprecedented trouble...like never before.

The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.

Just ask them next year how was their meeting with Lord Jesus. Might be worth a laugh.

Then try harder.
They simply do not listen. It's like talking to a wall and you end up getting frustrated and just give up.

They hate socialism, but get medicare. They simply can't be told or proven that they were wrong because they will then utilize mental gymnastics to remind them that they are not wrong. Or they go back into the bubble or the echo chamber. It takes experience for them to change their minds. There was an article a month or so ago about conflicted conservatives. This guys daughter was able to get medical help because she was under 26 and could still be on her father's insurance. He realized that if Obamacare was taken away, help for his daughter would be, too.

You are in the wrong thread if you think anyone who has the kind of radical conservative that is being posted about here in their family hasn't experienced a lot of crap from challenging or debating those beliefs. Kinda rude to say "try harder". You don't know what they've been through. I would wager for every single funny gif or image of someone breaking down and being ridiculous at best or extremely racist at worst, there are tons more undocumented moments of awkward family dinners, extremely embarrassing meet-the-family spousal moments and shameful memories of ignorance in their family that people aren't posting about.

Because this thread is to take a moment and laugh at the ridiculousness of all the breakdowns after a very trying election cycle.

Well, wasn't supposed to sound rude. Also I know the feeling to talk to a 70 year old woman, who lived through WW2 about russia for an example. It just strikes me that most americans are proud of bringing democracy to the world and then reading something like this about there own families.

But yeah ... enough about that in this thread, enjoy the tears ;).

I've seen 3 or 4 promises to move out of America already. I'm waiting for them to figure out that not a single first world country is further rightward politically than America.

Seriously. I keep having to show people that Canada is more of an example of a socialist country. So much ignorance.

This is pretty much all I got, from a mormon ex-coworker:

Silver linings...focus on the silver linings.

I have a lot of mormon family, so far, not a peep from them.

Rush is melting the fuck down. He honestly doesn't get why the GOP's handful of "some of my best candidates are black!" approach doesn't work.

lol the comments about moving to Canada are hilarious. Americans don't know what paying taxes is (compared to here).

A part of me says I don’t want to see these people in Canada. Please don’t come here and take away our healthcare with your racist and shakespearean ideologies. The other part of me wants them to come here so they can see what 13% tax is like. :p

bitch I'm taking calls.

That is a pretty big misconception you've got there. Most Americans aren't "proud of bringing democracy to the world". I could not care less about bringing democracy to the world. In fact I wish would we be a little more isolationist and not get involved with foreign wars as much as we do. But I lived in the UK for a few years so I know that is the common perception of Americans, that we are all super jingoist and proud of pushing "the American way" on everyone else.

I find the different ways of blocking out the names of posters on the Facebook post images to be interesting. Some people color in black squiggles, some people white. I wanted to do those black bars but couldn't figure out how to do it in paint so I just copied and pasted rectangular sections of the white background.

Limbaugh can't decide why they lost; whether it was the uppity women and minorities, or the lazy moochers, or media bias, or that darned hurricane Sandy that changed everything at the last minute.

The Cryptarch's Bane
Now Rush implies it's clear America isn't a racist nation at all, since we gave Obama another chance

Someone show him the map of the county breakdown

They are at their best when they vow to move to China, since America is going to turn into China anyway.
