Famitsu PS3 - Special DKS3713 Report!

- FFXIII will definitely have a party battle system, where you control each character as they switch turns, like in a normal FF. It will not be like FFXII.

There's nothing really surprising. The main programmer of FFXIII is Yoshiki Kashitani, who was the Battle Logic Programmer for VS and the Main Programmer for DoCFFVII. The Planning Directors for VersusXIII feature Yuuichi Kanemori, the Battle Director of PE2 and the KH games, and Takayoshi Nakazato, the Map/Field Director of FFX and FFX-2 and the Director of DoCFFVII. The majority of the VersusXIII team are pretty much all KH veterens, no surprise.

What is surprising is that in this week's Weekly Famitsu article they ran the same staff list for VersusXIII, but added an additional credit to Tomohiro Kayano's other roles. He's the Character Model Director of VersusXIII, but in the past he's worked as Character Model Director on PE1, FF7-9, KH1-2. In the Famitsu article, it also specifies that he's working on both Dissidia and The 3rd Birthday. This is the first new confirmation of a 3rd Birthday staff member since they unveiled the main staff last year.

Who's the art director for Versus?

Those shots are amazingly good. The character designs look great too. What is the guy and 2nd girl's name though?
 
Holy fucking sheit at the "new" pics.
 
All of the games looks amazing. Agito, however, needs prerendered backgrounds. Awesome character models,b ut I can already tell the backgrounds will be a bit bland.

I've seen most of these before in scans, but I still have to comment on how amazing the character models are. The hair in particular is a generation ahead of everything else. </hair rendering fetish>

In the bigger version, it looks a normal 3D field screen. It even reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus' ruins.
