Far Cry Primal announced: Trailer, PC/PS4/XB1, February 2016, $59.99

Love the setting. I don't think there has been a high profile game with this setting since BC for XBOX 1, and that one obvisouly never came out.

The reactions to this game not having guns is why AAA games don't change:

"I want games to change, too many guns in AAA."

"What no guns!? What am I supposed to do all game with nothing to shoot!? BORING!"

I didn't ask for this.

I wanted dinosaurs. I wanted Blood Dragon 2.

This seems to be just a cheap coat of paint on last years game. I doubt there will be any meaningful survival mechanics.

Completely different then?

Yeah, so different. Looks like they just bolted on a Dying Light style melee system. Get ready to capture those tribal camps and climb some prehistoric towers.

Man, it's sad that I saw a 59.99 pricetag and went "not a bad price" like it was some kind of a discount. Damn Canadian dollar.

I'm not as hyped as I am for Horizon: Zero Dawn, but this has potential. Now show me some gameplay to rope me in.

2016 is starting to look like an epic year for gaming.

I knew asscreed was on a conveyor belt but now far cry?

I wonder if this is what they are going for or if they want to test the water of spin off titles being interspersed with the numbered entries. Maybe they'd get those into the regular rotation of the games while spacing them out the same way after this...who knows. Could be that we'll see a new Far Cry every 18 months or something.

I find it baffling you are complaining about same old far cry shit while crying for same old far cry shit

And you are posting it without realizing how silly you sound.

Doesn't look half-bad. Certainly more interesting than any of the other Far Cry games IMO. Then again, it is Ubisoft. That's enough reason to be wary. Also, it's ridiculous that they're apparently covering up female breasts in a game set in the stone age. Prude much?

I knew they were going to be going this direction after Shangri La from Far Cry 4. Quick development cycle, though, hopefully it will turn out ok.

Man, they probably went with the Ice Age route because Sabertooths/Mammoths is pretty much the same as Tigers/Elephants. Kind of a shame though, because dinosaurs would have been a lot more novel.

I'm interested, but $59.99? I still have to get FarCry4 and I'll probably buy that one for cheap before considering to get Primal.

Sounds interesting but no guns worry's me a bit. I'm hoping the other elements can make up for the lack of guns.

So how do you get from A to B? Run for hours.. or can you craft a flintstone looking car? =)

Maybe you can mount the tiger? Would be cool.

Interesting.

MP/Co-op announced? I'd be interested in seeing how they handle the former. With the latter, taking down Mammoths as part of a 3 man squad would be pretty fucking cool.

Shame it's Ubisoft.

I'm not convinced. It's cool that AAA games are moving away from guns and explosions though. I can't wait for Call of Duty: Ancient Warfare

Hope there's magic. I loved the magic during the Far Cry 4 Shangri-La missions.

That sabertooth also looks like an ally to the player character. Hopefully it's similar to the white Tiger in the Shangri-la missions as well. Loved that tiger.

That is exactly what I did with Far Cry 4. Bought the Gold Edition for 35 euros packed with every single DLC.

Never do these games warrant the full price in my opinion. This one might be different, but I am definitely going to take this one with a pinch of salt because it is always going to be Ubisoft.
