Ferrari unveils the Luce, its first electric vehicle designed by Jony Ive

Almost the complete opposite of what I think, the tan and metal version of the interior is quite nice, not amazing (especially for the money) but nice, the exterior is embarrassing for a Ferrari, now some may say 'well don't think of it as a Ferrari, sure, don't charge Ferrari money for it then and remove the name Ferrari from it.

You can get the Ferrari 296 GTB for the same money if you want a Ferrari, or a Aston Martin DB12 Volante if you must have 4 seats (and half the price), heck, if you must have an EV you can get a Rolls Royce Spectre for that price.
I just wish the interior was more of an interesting understated approach rather than the more, to me anyways, duller retro minimalistic style. There's just nothing sexy about it like a flat karen's ass.

For real!!! Just give me a classic body with EV tech and Self driving features and I'm good.

Yeah a guy down the street from me here in Jupiter has several vehicles that no one would guess were all electric.

None of these pics are his but all are actual EVs and what they do look like

Has the old body style Mustang

Never understood why so many EV vehicles have to look so much different than the gas model. Understandable to an extent if the innards lead to needing to design the shell a big differently, but the car maker can still make the overall look still look the same or close to the gas car.

So if someone wants an EV version of a good looking car, it's a easy sell.

But when they make the EV car look totally different, now the customer has to take into account aesthetics too. Why complicate the sale?

They tend to be taller due to the batteries being in the base.

Hence why many have dark lines along the body, to break up the shape and make it look shorter.

It's also kne reason why the Tesla Model 3 looks ugly as sin from behind.

To be fair their Urus SUV looks underwhelming in real life, even in yellow color. There's no shock factor like when you see a Huracan or an Aventador.

Yep. Lambos are supposed to smack you in the face.

Ferraris are supposed to be elegant but sporty.

Aston Martins elegant and sophisticated.

Man, the Italians are up in arms. Every forum - even r/ItalyMotori - has been shitting/clowning on this project non-stop and even the news outlets are talking about it - It's THAT much of a cultural shock...

...and honestly, I kind of get it. Ferrari has been an icon for decades. It's one of Italy's biggest symbols of pride and part of the country's cultural identity, and then you have a fucking phone guy coming in to design this POS...

Which brings me to this: imagine people getting frustrated over that, and then imagine why people from other countries push back against that Nolan Odyssey movie bullshit. When it feels like outsiders are fucking with your heritage or culture, of course people are going to be up in arms. And the Odyssey is a tale that's thousands of years old, not just pieces of plastic and metal put together, eh?

The dumb thing about Luce too is even though you cant get away from the crappy design, at least showcase a red model everywhere. The car does look better in red which you can find on the net.

But some reason they promoted it in a range of colours like light blue, orange etc... So that gives ammo for the haters similar to everyone laughing at Jags.

Just stick to iconic red. A black one looks much better too. But they must had been really confident to go rainbow colours for the brand.

There's a theory that they did that to isolate the Luce from the other Ferraris in their product range.

If it fails, it fails alone
