Final Fantasy XI 2014 |OT| Kumhau, The Blackthorne Coven, and the Mog Wardrobe.

Does anyone know any guides to get a Dualshock 4 working with the game? I can get it working once, but when I shut down either the game or DS4Windows, I have to try to setup the whole thing all over again.

Try unistalling DS4Windows and see if that helps. The only problem I ran into so far is when I unplug my controller while everything is running and plug it back in, the controller stops working causing me to shutdown FFXI and DS4Windower.

I keep getting turned into a chocobo...

If anyone has porxie wings they've been holding onto, I'll gladly take them off your hands. Just 0.9 skill to go on clothcraft, and the new fletchings recipe seems like the best option.

Gotta start working on Abyssea now that Trusts are available. Mighty Guard is ridiculous: +25% Defense, +25 MDB, (probably) +30 HP/tick Regen, +15% Haste in a unique buff that stacks with other sources of each individual buff. And then combine it with Diffusion.

I suspect Trusts won't be nearly as helpful in Aby as in other places due to the fact Aby is all about procs.

This however was the Update of the Forever as it had the RUN/GEO jobemotes and storing guild items. Like the two things I've personally gone after on the OF. Well that and letting us cancel Eco-Warrior. They botched that one.

I should figure out how abyssea works; there appear to be still some viable accessory items in there and I still need the base empyrian gear for my main classes. My two trips there ended shortly after some confusion and unintuitive mechanics.

Is Shiryu soloable nowadays, considering trusts?

It's still annoying how most new BLU spells seem to come from higher end NMs, makes it trickier to hunt them on your own, and I'm not really sure how welcome BLUs are on that sort of fights...

Definitely soloable on BLU, and BLU is one of the most powerful jobs in the game, so people who wouldn't invite them are weird.

Is there a good guide for learning blue magic at 99 and which spells are best to use?

This topic has a decent list to start with:
http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/46623/important-blu-spells/

Also you can go into the BLU guide on that forum and check the first post for different spell sets for more spells to try to get. And people occasionally post their sets in discussion on the main guide, so look around the later pages and you might get some more ideas.

Did they change the targeting system?

All the sudden I'm targeting my trusts or pet over mobs when I press F8

And Apururu is such a hot mess now

What an awful update :/
Only thing I can do right at this moment is deciding between, the now pointless, JP farm for bst
Or setting up cor/Geo/blm that I don't really want to play

Yes, they changed it, and yes, its awful.

This along with support trusts prioritizing running out of range over healing you makes me wonder if SE tested this new patch out at all.

Honestly, I haven't really had a problem with the trusts running out of range. Apururu is still very effective for me.

The targeting thing is technically a change back to the way it used to be, but I'm not really sure why anyone would WANT it to be this way.

It blows my mind that so many players have no idea how to handle wyrm NMs these days. I guess its been so long since Nidhogg was relevant that hardly anyone knows proper wyrm etiquette anymore. So many people sitting on the sides or back... even directly in front. As I write this I am dead on the ground waiting for the new Unity wyrm to depop, after my group wiped from being dummies who don't know where to stand.

The feet! Stand on the damn feet!

Always stand behind the wyrm :3

Big thanks to all who sent me wings bit by bit, it has definitely been appreciated - took 97 synths from 109 to 110 alone!

Whoa, congrats on finally dinging 110!

Sorry I couldn't send you some wings (got a few), stuck on FFXI hiatus myself. :(

Alter-ego campaign announced. Finally they put back Amchuchu, Koru-Moru, and Qultada. Pretty sure those are the only high-profile limited time Trusts I'm missing.

They even put out diet Koru-Moru, the King of Hearts.

I have heard people going on and on about how good for Qultada is for awhile now, I will be interested to finally try him.

The game really doesn't want me to have a Defending Ring. I just used Shanks from all of my mules trying to get one. I don't know if I'll use log in points next month. I think I'll probably just use points for stones to sell, since it's probably the last log in campaign.

Do high tier bosses drop gear on very easy? I've fought Tenzen four or five times tonight and he never dropped a single piece of gear.

You probably will never see gear on VE. Void watch pulse gear drop rates. You need normal to see gear and even then it is still pretty low.
I've soloed the Promathia BC on N close to 50 times and still haven't gotten the COR sword. Getting real tired of it. Real tired.

Double plasm and double accolades starting Saturday. Nice. I still need a few Delve pieces- Isa Belt, PDT head from ice lion, and the wife needs Umuthi gloves and other stuff. And I'm missing a couple of key Unity pieces as well.

If it's any consolation, I've been trying to get a D-ring for my wife, and she's close to 0/50. And it's the last piece she needs for her rune fencer, to be able to use 4/5 AF3 119 in her tanking set.

Keep trying!

Shout for people and do it on Difficult. Gear drop rates are pretty good on D, and that's an easy fight.

Just finished up Chains of Promathia tonight and with the exception of the last couple missions it was a hell of a good expansion; I can only imagine how cool it seemed back when it originally released.

Is there a list of Unity warp points anywhere? I can't seem to find a list of the exact spot you get warped to in the zone so there has been a lot of trial and error on my part.

Getting al'taieu access back in the day was legitimately epic.

And then the escort mission started. And someone died. Or got lost.

FUCK.
