Fire Emblem If to feature Base Building mode and head rubbing mode

The way I see it, the need to shoehorn breasts in multiple designs tend to make character designers to become less creative in their work. As a woman, I find it tacky and dumb, but I'm just one person and I don't speak for women everywhere. Just accept that people are going to find this problematic one way or another. Some people in this thread are still going to buy this game, myself included. Nothing wrong with criticism or letting out personal feelings in the mean time.
Pretty much this.

Anyways, base building seems cool, at least.

She has a new class, actually, "Revenant Knight", so there might be something there aside from a glorified Wyvern Knight.

Her design with the battle panties is stupid, but Wyvern Knights did seem to wear leotards in Awakening anyway.
I didn't know about the new class. But yeah, the battle panties is pretty stupid.

I think Kozaki is a talented artist. His characters are well drawn and detailed. There are some character designs I like. The muscular chick with the abs. Marx, the samurai dude in the red armor. I even like Ryoma.

You've been playing "Barbie and Ken Match Making" with units for years now, they've simply moved the roleplay into the first-person for the avatar rather than living vicariously through other units.

Not really. I've been playing finding out the backstories and relationships between characters. Some of those relationships ended up being romantic, but they didn't seem like a central focus like they do now.

Hmmm..i see a potential waifu. She's looks like Sully x10. I doubt id use the rubbing stuff that much but we'll see. You got to admire the work they're putting into this. From near death to throwing the kitchen sink at us.

You're absolutely right!!

She's a gold-digging bitch.

And I am going to waifu her on my 2nd Nohr playthrough.
Yeah, fuck this game. If I wanted to play this kind of bullshit I'd buy a Vita.

Can't wait for the inevitable Fire Emblem x Love Plus crossover

For mobile only.

That we won't get in America.

I remember Path of Radiance having a lot of supports that emphasized strong platonic friendships between units. Romance was really sparse, and I kind of preferred it that way. It felt more resonating to me. but i haven't played the game in years so i'm probably spouting bullshit

Basically my point is is that I would like it a lot if there was more focus on platonic supports between characters over romantic ones in this installment, or at least as much. I felt like that was always a strong point throughout the whole FE series since supports ever became a thing. Together we ride, and all that.

A lot of the romance in Awakening felt so forced and fake, imo. Female!Robin/Chrom was particularly bad. But yeah, if every character is marriageable in the game you're making, well.... you gotta hurry up and make those scripts before the game comes out.

I'm honestly more annoyed by the recycling of Sumia and Severa's character designs. Especially Severa's. They look exactly alike :/

At this point I think I'm just desensitized to the boobs in your face design aesthetic.

First one is pretty amazing tbh

Hope FE team makes a mecha game one day.

Or Monolith Soft taps into their mutual Nintendo connection and gets him to do character design for the next Xenoblade :P

Not just Wyvern Knights! Look closely at Sully's design.

So does anyone know if we can marry the older big boob sister on the nohr side? She's the only one ima eyeing right now unless some other beauty comes lol

Base building sounds awesome. Fire Emblem amie sounds hilarious.

I hope there's a bald dude and you can polish his head to give him a stat boost and shit like that

Yeah, I really appreciate the regular friendships that formed. I like the one with Canas and Nino in Rekka no ken, this older gentlemanly scholar and this young up and coming sage forming a bond and by the end you find out that they're relatives. It's sweet that Nino finds out she still has family after her parents and brothers murders.

The Chrom and Robin one is particularly groan worthy with the whole shower and seeing her naked thing. Like something out of a bad anime.

Wow so apparently the game is about to be able to pre-load already for Japan. Means game is pretty much done. SO CLOSE YET SO FAR AWAYYYYYY

Nah there were only 2 pairings in that game and only one was kept in the narrative of the sequel.

Base building mode sounds really cool. Looks like they're going even more all out for this game to make it something unique. I'm looking forward to putting in so many hours into this game!

lol this is like a prime example of how Japan's market is moving

the regular people aren't buying stuff anymore so the creators have to focus more and more on the extreme otaku segment

Base building is great though, love that kind of stuff

You're absolutely right!!

Yep she's up there, any word on her class?, but we must wait and see the rest of the units before making any crucial strategic decisions.

Saying that, i think the axe mercenary blonde is a little much, but to each their own. I have enjoyed the series too much to let a few outfits change my opinion of it. All those new changes will determine that.

I'm really looking forward to the base building, multiple campaigns, new unit types, more varied battlefields and the mild changes to the weapon balance. Its a strategy game, that stuff is what matters to me.

Can't say that touching my troops interests me, but hey, that stuff is usually optional unless you need maximum stats on nightmare difficulty or something. I don't see how people get so worked up over something that's optional and gets more people to buy it, ensuring a future for the franchise. I wasn't overly keen on the marriage/time-travelling children in Awakening, but seeing as it was optional and it led to more FE games, I'm glad they did it. Same with the no-permadeath mode. I wouldn't touch it, but if it got more people over something that was stopping them supporting one of my favourite series, it's all good.

For as long as there's a solid SRPG where the balance between units, weapons and battlefields is it's heart and all the support stuff is optional for those who like it, I'm cool with it.

I keep seeing that her starting class is "Oni". Apparently a translation of this image here.

Rinka Profile:

The Aloof Flame
Starting Class: Oni

She is from the Tribe of Flames, which is an independent group from the Kingdom. Following her father (the chief)’s orders, she moved to assist the Kingdom of Hoshido. In accordance with her tribe’s custom of honoring solitude, she does not interact with her comrades more than is necessary.

Base building seems really cool and it seems like a far less intrusive and annoying Streetpass implementation.

I replayed Awakening recently and had a ton of streetpass teams clogging up the map making me have to dismiss them in order to get to shops. Sometimes it would be like 2-3 in a row before it was clear. I know I could have disabled streetpass but that would suck :(

I also got tons of tags for FE:A on relays in my area. After a streetpass weekend I was routinely full of FE tags.

Finally, a game for face-rubbing fetishists like myself. I always end up spending the day in jail when I go around rubbing strangers' faces in real life. Thanks IntSys!

Central focus of... what? The only semblance of relevance they have to the game is the pair-up boosts, which has been a mechanic for a long, long time, it was just based on adjacency rather than pair-up. The other option being 'kid' units, but we've yet to see confirmation on that end.

The supports haven't changed their "role" aside from being more streamlined and more robust, you can form a support crew of only best-friends in Awakening if you wanted to. And in the past, they had the ridiculous limit on "supports" which made the whole thing a spreadsheet nightmare for finding the best combinations.

Guess I'm a filthy Fire Emblem casual (though I've beaten the majority of them) because all of this stuff looks amazing to me! This is going to be the weirdest Fire Emblem and I'm so excited.

They just guaranteed the future of the Fire Emblem franchise

But is it a future we're going to want?

I dunno. Maybe freaking out over the facerubbing minigame is premature, but... as a rule? I don't like games that do that kind of stuff. I don't like seeing it injected into series I do like. Makes me worried.

Might as well cut out the middleman and just make the next game Rance IX with FE characters at the rate they're going.

you poor sort, haven't you heard we're not allowed to be excited for these things anymore?

Were on the same boat jackal. I'm really interested in seeing how these things will play out and can't wait to try them for myself.
