Fire Emblem If to feature Base Building mode and head rubbing mode

She's a gold-digging bitch.

And I am going to waifu her on my 2nd Nohr playthrough.

A mercenary. Yeah, right.

This is completely optional and I need not bother with it at all in singelplayer, right? Sounds awful :(.

These characters aren't five years old. :lol bringing in family members as a valid argument. Infantilizing adults or late teenagers is weird you people.

Its a videogame. This is like saying "man you guys are weird for killing people and raping hookers in gta"

Horde battles for me took longer than Super Training. Super Training was nice and It didn't take that long but, I still would like the ability just to set the stats in game using a damn slider or something. I am just being picky to be honest.
Also this.

Wait what? Horde training should take no more than 3 minutes for one stat if you have the proper setup.

You can get reset bags in the overworld, cant you

True but it's still apart of the super training app./ needless semantics

It seems to be replacing the Barracks from Awakening. Just enter it once awhile to get some bonuses and go back to wrecking easy chapter after easy chapter. Gotta spend money for those buildings + items anyway.

Yeah I never dove too deep into doing it Horde Battle style looking at it now, it seems I have been wasting my damn time for years lol.

Anyway back on topic, IS is just adding stuff that they think will stick and some of this stuff will obviously.

What was up with Lilith!? I bet it evolves into the bishoujo/bishounen of your choice at a certain level. Or maybe Dragonair.

Waifu/Husbando Raising Sim, Gatcha, Castle Creation and Siege Mode. Now all it needs is IAP and Plot-Free™ narrative. And maybe the daycare center from Pokemon. Game of the century.

Honestly really excited though, it looks interesting.

"Fire Emblem if |OT| All about that base"

Though I'm sure someone will think of a better title than that.

I'm actually really excited for base building, looks like a lot of fun. The FE-amie is a little weird. Still really excited for this game.

I rather like the chick who looks like she breaks trees with her abs design.

Hmmm..i see a potential waifu. She's looks like Sully x10. I doubt id use the rubbing stuff that much but we'll see. You got to admire the work they're putting into this. From near death to throwing the kitchen sink at us.

both side will have this feature, not Hoshido only as there's exclusive item sold for each side. one thing i wonder is how this will affect the 'non-grindy, hard mode' of Nohr side like they'll claiming before...

They could block experience gains on the Nohr side (I think someone said it has been confirmed, but I haven't seen a source). The extra battles and characters are mostly from streetpass features too, so you could turn that off and might not even be able to use it depending on where you live it if there isn't an online alternative...

Awakening was full on anime, I know, but the characters were unique and memorable and funny and colorful. The characters in this one seem far less amusing, and more generic. The relationship aspect was cute in Awakening, but it seems like this one caters to the otaku demographic that gets reallllly into it. I hate designs like this which many of the females look like. This little girl is not a warrior:

That's a custom character though.

Its a problem for you, not for me. I enjoy collecting amiibo so more excuses to use my amiibo is a good thing to me. But you don´t see me complaining that more games should have even more amiibo compatibility.

But yeah, sorry for calling you out, to each its own I guess.

I love the idea of Amiibo since I have been collecting Nintendo merchandise for years, but I dislike the idea of locking content behind rare figures. If I could walk into a store and buy a Marth on store shelves, you wouldn't hear a peep from me.

Some more info from a poster on SF.

When you visit another player's My Castle, you can converse with their party members and shop at their stores. The characters will often give you items, just as your own do. The stores sell different weapons depending on which route you take. For example, while the focal Kamui throughout this trailer is from Hoshido, the visitor is from Nohr.

Once you complete a battle against another player, they will leave your My Castle. During battles held at your My Castle, you (or your opponent) can destroy buildings. However, once the battle ends, the buildings will be restored to their former state. Lilith (リリス) serves as an ally during My Castle skirmishes and can heal your characters.

You can recruit one member of another player's team.

From the same poster.

Nohr's path will not reward experience for its My Castle battles; the values shown reflect Hoshido alone. The narration does not address differences between the actual battles (If there are different victory conditions or map layouts, etc.), nor do we seem be shown multiple, so I can't answer much more than that. I'm sorry.

i can't wait until Kozaki leaves the team after this one tbh. in my opinion, he falls flat a lot when designing medieval characters, especially if they're women. he's better off designing for more modern-ish games like No More Heroes. Senri Kita is da bes and I hope she comes back to IS some day to give us more gorgeous art.

wait, so yeah this is reminding me that Nohr-side is the more harder game. I can not re-discover this piece of info that i might be making up in my head but: wasn't there news that Nohr-side has no overworld map (no extra battles and the like)?

So I understand that the Nohr path will be more difficult. But I'm reading conflicting info on whether it won't or will have a map traversal mode. Is there confirmation?

edit: oh hey somebody else curious haha

I like his general style, and I really liked a lot of his Awakening designs, but I agree his weaknesses are really starting to show here.

May be an unpopular opinion but I agree completely. Especially the desire for Kita to come back, but that wouldn't happen, or at least we probably wouldn't get designs like in PoR/RD since that doesn't really fit what the series is going for anymore.

Ah, yeah. I see now that I look at the official site, that that's one of the avatar's designs. I still don't really like the designs though. It seems like it has what I don't like about a lot of anime designs. Making them "unique" by adding more weird or crazy, over-the-top hair/accessories instead of making them have distinct faces/figures and hair or clothes that look like they fit their character personality and role they have in the story. Take the Nohr wyvern lady with purple hair. Sure, she stands out, but nothing about her design evokes anything about being a wyvern rider. Awakening had that issue far less. They were distinct, but still simpler and fit the character. Donny looked like a farmer kid, Kellam looked like a meek knight, Gaius like a thief etc. and they are distinct because of this without needing crazy hairstyles or over designed fantasy armor.

A lot of these characters look like they have same-face-syndrome and look identifiable by crazy hair or clothes.

Yikes. All we can do is pray for a new artist for the next game.
Yusuke Kozaki is actually a pretty talented artist. Kozaki's style just seems to gel better with a modern setting, at least to my eyes.
Why are people afraid of breasts
Who is afraid of breasts? The issue is we're ostensibly playing with medieval warriors and armies, and many of the outfits look goofy for someone to wear into battle, and they're clearly over the top.

I agree completely. He is talented, but not the right artist for Fire Emblem. People were complaining about Masamune Shirow for the DS games. He only did a couple of pieces of art for the DS remakes.

First one is pretty amazing tbh

Hope FE team makes a mecha game one day.

Looks good.

Nohr continues to show a return-to-form for difficulty, so that is keeping me excited.

The sexualization is a starting to go a little far, but some of these discussions over playing dolls with the roster seem a bit weird to me. You've been playing "Barbie and Ken Match Making" with units for years now, they've simply moved the roleplay into the first-person for the avatar rather than living vicariously through other units.

She has a new class, actually, "Revenant Knight", so there might be something there aside from a glorified Wyvern Knight.

Her design with the battle panties is stupid, but Wyvern Knights did seem to wear leotards in Awakening anyway.

Bleh, these character designs. Female unit designs in FE games have never been as good as the male units (IMO), but a belt coming through her boobs? Really?

Even the guys don't look as interesting as past games. :(

Why are people afraid of breasts
The way I see it, the need to shoehorn breasts in multiple designs tend to make character designers to become less creative in their work. As a woman, I find it tacky and dumb, but I'm just one person and I don't speak for women everywhere. Just accept that people are going to find this problematic one way or another. Some people in this thread are still going to buy this game, myself included. Nothing wrong with criticism or letting out personal feelings in the mean time.
