You know, I was shitting on Kozaki throughout the whole thread and I apologize for that because I actually don't hate his designs in the least (except Nowi. fuck Nowi). I absolutely agree that he improved since Awakening. No toilet armor so far and no heart shaped belts. Along with Marx and Gunter, I especially love how Mikoto, Cyrus, Suzukaze, and Elfie look. Oh, and this guy:
Toilet armor is all on the art director and not on Kozaki (he has stated that it was mandate from the director in a couple of interviews).

FE4 I think is the only explicit (not that explicit) example. FE8 doesn't go past vague, noncommittal hintting
And it's not conveyed as a good thing in FE4.

FE4 has one case of brother sister incest where the two parties were not aware of this(and it is a very bad thing, the two of them were manipulated by a cult, as both siblings had the blood of a dark god in them, then the kid ends up murdering the mother). There are also some cousin pairs in second gen depending on who was paired in first gen. (like Awakening)
Sigh, no, Ephraim and Eirika do not get married in FE8. In any version of the game. (...S ranks don't even exist in GBA FE)
If I recall, Seliph/Julia was originally going to be a set pair, I think some dev notes said this? (In the final game they have like, 50 love points under the marriage threshold, too. Their love growth is negative, however. I always imagined it as them falling out of love after Seliph realizes that they're bro/sis lol)

Suzukaze, one of the ones there with a heart, is a dude though, and I doubt this game has same sex romance. Pretty sure that is just raising relationship in general.

Whoa, I'm having a hard time understanding this.
Have a FE4 family tree, while we're on that. No amazingly glaring issues like that one, but look at Diadora and Arvis' parents.

I don't mind if they drop relationships as a whole. That said if it did have them but don't have Same sex relationships I'd have to skip it because I can't stand when developers do this with an avatar character.

The "My Castle" (probably renamed in the localized version, since they didn't go with "My Unit" for the custom character) is for both routes. Some people just assumed that it was Hoshido only since some design elements seem specifically Eastern.
Characters so far are only showing up due to Amiibo, no other explanation. The developers said that this would be a different world from previous games. Awakening had a Otherworld Gate for the DLC content that might play some role here again, but nothing about that has been mentioned so far.
However, there's also a character very similar to Severa who appeared in the newest trailer called Luna. She has a quote about the avatar resembling someone she knows, which might indicate that she's really Severa in some way and knows about Awakening's avatar (like how characters from Shadow Dragon/New Mystery in Awakening's DLC often compared Robin with Kris, the previous avatar).
However, it might just be a coincidence/reference, and the person she's mentioning might just be the other player's avatar (since the scene with her in the trailer is with the avatar vising another castle) - however, the other characters don't seem to have similar quotes to the visiting avatar.
There are also (recruitable?) generic characters with the same (Japanese) names as the Deadlords/Dark Warlords from FE 4/5/13.
You got "companions" listed rather than married, but if you moved them to shinning tiles you'd still get lover's quotes.
You can accidentally walk into the onsen and see a female character in her bikini? No doubt this is getting censored in America lol. If they went and censored Tharja, they'll definitely patch up some stuff in the game. The build your own base thing looks awesome, instead of 100, I'll spend 200 hours on the game!

The face rubbing thing doesn't bother me, it seems like it's gonna be restricted to whoever you get S rank with. It'd be weird to just start piching everyone's cheek. Kinda funny though.
The hot spring thing wouldn't bother me if not for the whole accidental peeping bullshit that inevitably pops up. Otherwise I don't mind seeing conversations while the characters take a soak. But there will no doubt be peeping and girls groping each others' boobs and other dumb shit.
Some charcter designs look awesome, like that big buff dark skinned guy someone posted. But too many of the females look designed to have that "kawaii" petite cherubic face, teeny-tiny nose highpitched voice, bland look. The two little sisters, Suzuhana (the Sumia ripoff), the two maids, the Severa clone, Charlotte (bad Miriel/Tharja ripoff), etc.

Just elaborating, this was added by the localization. In Japanese they were still listed as husband wife.
(Also, 3rd gen Morgan marrying their aunt/uncle bugs out the labeling lol) (Example, Lucina mothered Morgan marrying Chrom fathered Brady, who is Lucina's brother)
Aren't there dlc characters from the card game as well?
As for Severa, she was named Selena in Japan, and both Selena/Luna have very obvious moon connections (and Severa could never get that red hair in Awakening even though it's her hair in the official art).

Yep, there's prince Marth, masked Lucina and Pegasus Knight Minerva from a tie in with the card game, so we're likely getting more DLC characters. We know nothing about how they're implemented/explained in game though, just like the Amiibo ones. Well, we at least know that the Amiibo ones actually talk even after joining the party this time, unlike the DLC characters from Awakening.
I would have to track down a Captain Falcon amiibo if this was the case. What class would he be anyway? "Captain Falcon" seems like a likely class. Fights unarmed, huge Speed and Strength growths. Out of ~114 possible support convo combinations, there are ~26 pairings that result in a romantic ending (including Pent/Louise who get a paired ending no matter what). If you want to add Lyn/Florina and Raven/Lucius (does anyone seriously ship Marcus/Merlinus?
) that pushes it up to ~28. So like... 25% of the support combinations in FE7 were romantic by nature.I thiiiiiink FE8 might have had more but I'm fairly sure FE9 had less.
Now Awakening gets complicated because of the Avatar and all the possible sibling stuff. Ignoring anything related to the Avatar and assuming all children characters are from different parent pairs, that would give us ~240 possible support convo combinations (including one generic parent/child convo for each child) with ~170 having romantic endings. That's like... 70%.
I'm fairly sure my numbers are reeeellllatively in the ballpark but if anyone wants to point out any dumb errors I might have made then feel free haha.

Interesting, really. The barehanded monk who can take on an army on his own is such a classic cliche that's it's amazing that Fire Emblem hasn't even had one yet. I suppose balance issues with a class totally sidestepping wepaon durability would have been an issue. But for If, it's no longer an issue.
Hm, I kind of want a barehanded fighter now. Captain Falcon or not.

They could always give knuckles to that class. Anyway, I think a class like that hasn't appeared because generally the only oriental influence in class design was the myrmidon/swordmaster class. So, there was no space for a martial artist archetype. IF is the first time we get an entire set of classes just designed for a Japanese inspired country.
I guess fits or knuckles could be considered hidden weapons for the new weapon triangle if they felt like adding something like that...
I always thought they didn't know where to put it in the triangle as well.
