For Honor Open Beta Feb 9 - Feb 12

Crushing the mobs is great fun... but it's just making me think that what I really want is a Dynasty Warriors game that looks like for honour (Charlemagne era knights).

Honour being spelt wrong is going to shit me for the entire time I'm playing it.

But its spelled right :)

I am loving the fast assassin characters. Coming up behind an unsuspecting enemy who is engaged with my teammate is so satisfying.

I'm going to have to give this a try this time around - got into the closed beta but never got the time to actually jump in. Like the look of it though, and want to support something relatively different.

Pure damage nerf, does a lot less damage.

I'm glad. I abused the hell out of that when fighting people, it was definitely absurd. It felt like every fight came down to if they knew how to counter me. If they didn't i'd stab, back off and play defensive, then go in for another stab. Having it be such a powerful tactic made it so I didn't learn many other tactics with Peacekeeper.

Played it for a bit, it's a very well made game and looks amazing but I'm not feeling it. It's also a bit shit when you get stabbed in the back while you try to duel someone since the game's combat is simply not suitable for anything other than 1v1 fights.

It definitely is, but it certainly takes more skill and experience.

How does this run on Xbox one? I'm looking to pick up digitally and download it now since I'll be in a hotel for the next 3 weeks and I'm not sure how the download speeds are

100% untrue. The game takes time. There is a lot of skill involved. It's really rewarding.

check out this 1v2

The game has a great way of handling 2v1. It just takes practice of being able to block. When someone you aren't engage in tried to attack it'll show which direction they are coming from. All you have to do is block in the direction and the attacker will be pushed back. You will also increase your revenge meter which gives more health.

I've won a few 1v2s just this morning. I've got a lot of experience with the game but I'm certainly not great at the game. There's a lot of depth that new players will not understand so 1v2s will seem impossible at first.

I stand corrected then.
However, still I feel like I'd get bored of the game quite quickly. I might get it later on when the price drops but not sure about launch. Especially considering I have NioH, Siege and Overwatch taking most of my time so not sure if I can fit in another multiplayer game.

Or, if you've been in a lot of the alphas/betas and at least know how to play, you're gonna have a window of a week or two where 1v2s are the easiest they're ever gonna be :P

End of the last couple of alphas, I was actively seeking 1v2s and 1v3s out, because there's nothing like coming out of one on top. Gonna have to pass on this OB though. don't want to burn myself out on the game and have all my progress wiped for like the third time.

None shall survive my blade.

I am so glad that image posting was still relatively rare on the Internet when I was a stupid teenager.

Played it for an hour+, minus the long match making times it was fun.

There is a lot of things I am doing wrong even, though the main tricky part is just memorization. I have a hard time remembering stuff. The combat is basic but that what gets you and paying attention.

Also, which character is...faster? Everything seems so slow.

Can't log into Uplay. I'm on PC, downloaded the beta via steam.Anybody else experiencing this problem?

Yes. When I did manage to log in once or twice through the steam launcher it told me I needed an activation key for the game, which of course Steam didn't provide. Apparently uPlay isn't mature enough to handle beta traffic on a game yet.

They really did a number on the Warlord...
He was way too powerful on Dominion and meh in any other mode, now he's "just great" on Dominion and pretty much worthless in the other modes.
I feel they're missing the point.

It's not a coincidence that I'm seeing so many more Conquerors compared to the last beta.

I like this game a lot more than i thought i would when it was first announced.

but unfortunately i'll never actually be sufficiently good for it to be more fun than rage inducing :)

I played about an hour this morning and it almost wasn't fun. There are so many new players running around that it was pretty much just freekills and I wasn't really learning anything and I'm pretty sure they were not enjoying having someone who's been in every beta rolling over them. I'll probably still play a lot to spar with friends or do parry drills against level 3 Bots but I think I'll wait until launch to dive back into the large game pool. Last thing I want to do is scare other players off and it's a lot more fun to play this game when you are up against people as good or better than you

This game is releasing on PC in five days. Is it really possible that they haven't fixed the fact that if you can't connect to the servers the only way to exit the game is via the OS (task manager, alt-f4, etc). How can that possibly still be the case, surely I'm missing some interface option or keybind?
