i will agree with forbes on this one
Same.
I think it will take a whole generation and then some before people see them on an even footing when they are able to get out Avowed, Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI etc. It will take time, but I think this is the route MS should have been on for generations now competing against Sony cause for a long time, it as like Sony was basically competing with themselves.
Literally, their own fucking studios are competing with GOTY with each other more so then even MS. So I think MS needs many factors here, they need that real freedom for those teams to move the fuck on, we don't need 100x Halo games watching that series flop, shit like this is why I'm happy Sony just lets those teams move on, sure a Killzone 5 would be awesome, but if the team wants to fucking move on, why force them in a IP they don't want to be in anymore?
The team would have just left Sony and went on to publish Horizon Zero Dawn else where and it would have been Ubisoft or Activision etc with some GOTY, 20 million seller or something, same with Ghost Of Tsushima, The Last Of Us and many more.
So like EA, I get that MS as of late has made statements about giving their teams more freedom, but when you have generations of bad practices and teams forced to work on IPs to death with flop after flop, its hard for many of us to believe that and we need to see real results and that put in to practice.
So I think its going to be a while before we see those acquisitions and new creative freedom bare fruit for them.
