Man you guys weren't kidding, it runs at a locked 60FPS for me now, I had 1 or 2 small dips to 56-57 in the big city (Surfer's Paradise?) but everything else has been a locked 60 on Ultra settings at 1080p on a i5-2500K/1070.
So uh, how's this running on roughly scorpio equivalent systems? I know it's a dumb question but I just can't help myself
Any impressions from people with 120/144hz monitors? Can we hit a stable 72FPS or more with the new update?
Kinda off topic but is the game still always online (PC)? I heard something about that months ago.

No, you can play offline if you want.
For anyone who has the patch installed, is the hitching gone with frame rate smoothing turned off? Or does it still need to be turned on?
Yeah, it's very tempting to pick a card for Forza. But I want to wait till Vega has been announced and released now that we're so close. To see what it delivers and how it effects the pricing of the currently available GPUs.Ah lol. the 580 seems like a real good card for the money, Forza games perform better with AMD cards too.
i dont think any cpu has 4x the single core IPC of jaguar. but no, no cpu can come close to sustaining 120
Everyone around me is getting performance increases, and here I am nearly giving up trying to reinstall this game because of Windows Store.
This program is so bad it's unbelievable. Been stuck at 2.04 GB for nearly half an hour on a 100+ Mbps connection.
It was like this for me too initially. Just kept flashing mapping download and ticking up in tiny increments. I left it on and eventually it ramped up to max out my 70mbit connection.Everyone around me is getting performance increases, and here I am nearly giving up trying to reinstall this game because of Windows Store.

I'm having the issue of the game simply not wanting to launch anymore. The forza horizon splash screen appears for a split second and then closes again. The things I've tried:
Redownload the game
Disabled microphone for windows apps
Changed the time to 2 am (which for some people weirdly worked)
Reset the application in the app menu.
Disabled windows defender
removed my video drivers and fresh installing them
making sure windows was up to date
I'm at a total loss what to do ):
Weird. You would think that would be the case these days.
I find that very strange that that may seemingly be the case, as you have lots of other CPU limited 30hz titles on consoles which can be pushed to 120hz and beyond on modern CPUs as DF or others have showcased - Alien Isolation, The Witcher 3 (a game which scales greatly with core count and memory speed), Assassins Creed, etc.
IMO, any DX12 game from an MS first party dev should have 0 stutters and 0 CPU related problems - as DX12 came into existence to eliminate stutters and CPU related problems in the first place. Heck DX12 is the place where you have nigh complete control over the ability of those areas where stutters come from - it is the dev's fault, not the (PC) hardware.
Ditto, really quite pathetic how they can't get this right. Took me 20 minutes to update the windows camera app, I have a 200mbit connection........
Ancedotal but do you have any hardware monitoring applications open? I used to have this issue for a long time until I closed the Aida64 utility.
Try Settings > Apps > Forza Horizon 3 > Advanced Settings > Reset
Took me five seconds to update the camera app... Really weird that people are having these problems.

Yes I do still observe micro stutters then. 1080Ti 1440p gsync 100+ fps
Oh, I also reinstalled the realtek audio drivers. Forgot to mention that.

i still see regular stutter. dont know if the drops below 60 are cpu or gpu but id guess cpu
I recorded this at 4k, with 2x msaa and ultra-settings. I never expected it to run at locked 60 fps to be honest. I was just curious and the results were surprising, at least to me. For gameplay, I settled at 3200x1800/ultra with 2x msaa (I'm on a 1440p screen) and I never noticed the fps counter dropping below 60. But I also wondered about CPU performance and downclocked my 7700k from 4.8GHz to 4.3GHz. Performance still stayed at 60 fps (1800p/ultra/2x msaa).
--> I was probably running into GPU bottlenecks at 4k and not into CPU ones.
Gameplay isn't 100% micro-stutter free, but it is a lot better then before. The stutter you see here is probably from me recording with Geforce Experience. Sadly, I have no external capture setup right now.
You could try creating a new user in windows. If you can't find FH3 in start menu, just search it on the store, it will take like 10 seconds to install again and play.

Fiddled around with the wheel settings, seems a lot better now. I think I was being a harsh critic on the handling since the last time I used the wheel was on Gran Turismo 6, and the physics/handling are fairly different in comparison to FH3.
All and all, the game is running 70-80fps for me, and I haven't gotten a crash back to desktop after playing over 30 minutes, so that's a definite plus for me. Fairly excited I can clear this game over the Summer and work on the dlc later. Feels good to play a racing game with a wheel again!
I just watched this and saw some stutter... Then like I did way back when the game initially launched and people where posting videos I rewound the same section and watched it over and over again. Sometimes I'd see the stutter and sometimes I wouldn't.
From my own experience before I got a refund right after the game launched I wouldn't even call the faux youtube stutter or hitching what people are talking about when they say they are dealing with stuttering problems. The stuttering was pretty consistent no matter where you where or what you where doing. This didn't at all look the same. That looked MUCH smoother to me. However, I really don't think that YouTube is the best way to discern how smooth a game is playing unless there is a frametime graph on the screen or something.

Are you a Windows Insider? The updates routinely break Forza Horizon.
did you check gpu usage during that 4k run by any chance? if so was it always above 95%?
