Forza Horizon 6 |OT| Tōge Drift

I think Japan is the perfect setting for a game like this, but I get bored of racing games super easily so I'll pick this up at some point down the road when I need a game to play for a couple weeks where I'm in the state of mind to only want to play games where I shut my brain off, chill, and not have to think about anything.

When I'm in that kind of a brain mush mood, Forza Horizon games hit the spot. But once I'm out of that kinda mood, I can't play them anymore, I just get bored too easily.

Yes the game still gives you high end cars quickly, which was a complaint about the previous versions. However, the actual Horizon events you do are locked to specific car classes, unlike the previous series.

In the previous series, the event would basically work with any car you are currently driving. It would provide you with a suggested Car Class, but you could really make the event use whatever car class you wanted to progress. This would lock people in the best cars they have.

In the new game, the events are locked on car class and type. Only after completing the event can you then (I have not attempted this yet) change the class type and do whatever you want.

So yes, you can still get super fast, high end cars quickly, what you use to progress through the campaign is locked until you complete the race. It seems like they were going for a balanced approach here: you can right away drive around the map in your favorite car you have gotten, able to so the on map events like drift zones, danger signs, and more with whatever car you want; but for official races, you progressively use faster cars.

I like this approach over the previous years. Still not 100% perfect, but it is a good balance, IMO.

The game should be filled with minigames similar to Tokyo City Food Delivery. For example, Taxi Driving could offer a similarly endless number of possibilities, even in multiplayer!

If it were filled with such subgames, it would actually be just a stone's throw away from rivaling GTA6...

yeah! The food delivery has been fun for the little I have done with it. It reminds me of crazy taxi some.

I would prefer not having high end cars until later on. It kills the progression

Yeah, i like the locked on classes and car types for races as well. Makes you wanting to explore and tune all these beautiful cars before a race.

But pretty sure they had this in FH5 as well....at least these weekly festival races always had it like this.

Yeah, the weekly races did, but not the main story line events.

I played a bit over the weekend, 6-8 hours I think but I'm already on the 5th wristband? Is it possible that one is shorter than previous ones?

And lots of people want the fast cars quickly.

Sounds like they may have struck a balance this time in that career progression is locked to specific classes. In the meantime, use or don't use your fast car for arsing around in, speed zones etc.

If you're focusing solely on those, then yeah I can see that. There's so much more to do though, lots of those yellow marked story missions, some with 5, 6 chapters in themselves.

I'm peppering in all content between, game clock is currently around ~14 hours and just did that Mech race a little bit ago.

Does anyone know how to start from scratch? My premium cars are still showing up in my garage, but I own the standard version now.

I almost bricked my game following guides from Forza Horizon 5, but thankfully I was able to boot up the game again, and it found my profile.

If you have a 5090 and a 4K screen, I HIGHLY recommend running the game using DLDSR 1.78 (basically 5K) in model M Transformer 2, Performance SR mode. With no FG, you can maintain over 100fps and it looks STUNNING. Better than DLAA at 4K. The game DEF needs ray reconstruction STAT though.

I think I bricked my game 👀

I bought Premium last week and refunded it. Picked up Standard and all of the Premium stuff shows up in my garage but it says I don't own it (makes sense).

I wanted to start from scratch, so I moved the saves to my desktop in a backup folder, booted the game up offline, and now it says it can't find my profile whether I'm offline or online, even when I restore it to the folder.

I'm reinstalling to see if that fixes it.

I think I messed up, guys.

if it doesn't work, try clearing cache.

Thank you! That worked!

I'm trying to figure out how to start the game from scratch because I returned the premium edition. All of the cars are showing up in my garage, but I can't drive them.

For those that have the standard version, do the premium cars show up in your garage anyway?

Forza horizon is a big fucking deal!

I could never get into these games. Tried Horizon 3, 4, and 5, and the most time I spent was like an hour dicking around in the LEGO expansion of I forget which one,,,

…somehow that's changed for Horizon 6. I'm not sure what it is about this one but I'm absolutely loving it. It's so much fun and the setting is great and varied. Also like how events are locked into certain cars, as someone mentioned above, That was a huge change and it's been great.

So yeah, I finally enjoy a racing game. The last one I really got into was Motorstorm on PS3. Only took 20 years!

The race with the "Mech warrior" (for want of a better name) alone already makes it head and shoulders above the other Forza games! ...And I haven't even played it yet! (Still on the installation side from Gamepass)

The segment in that race when you speed out of a long tunnel and the mech is on your left and a bullet train to your right is ....

Also anyone unable to find liveries? It stay like this then an error message indicates that the Forza servers are inaccessible

The servers are being hammered

the servers are being absolutely hammered right now yeah.

btw, for the PC people, go into the Nvidia app and force anisotropic filtering... the game has very low quality texture filtering by default, which stood out like a sore thumb when I drove through a park in Tokyo where sakura leafs 10m in front of me looked like weird pink blobs.

I would also recommend using the highest SSGI option, anything below the max setting has noticeable artifacts around moving objects.

The game really is a carbon copy of the last - which is fine i guess. They raytraced lightning is glorious though

Havibg played the last ones I immediately I turned off all voices and removed subtitles - but you still cant skip cutscenes 🫠

What car is this? I need it for these fckn jumps. That AMG Mercedes isnt cutting it anymore.
Lotus Evija, electric shitbox but it's at the top of most speed traps. For off road and jumps I use the Tacoma FE, that shit is ridiculous. Even won some online races with it against FXXK 😂
