They can't put every Pokemon game in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It pisses me off that my favorite Pokemon are cut from this game.

Why do gamers keep throwing around the word "lazy" to describe game developers. Nobody is too lazy to do anything, scope is limited to be pratical and meet deadlines. People don't want to do things that are not that benenficial in the end. Money is limited and so is time. You don't put more time/money unless you get more value out of it.

Except this hasn't been status quo for a few years. Hell, this was done back in Gen 3 as well. Couldn't carry over *any* Pokémon to Ruby and Sapphire and there were a number that were impossible to get, unless you waited until they announced Fire REd/LEaf Green and bought another game to complete the deX. Nothing here is particularly new and people still crying over it are silly.

343i did this shit with Halo Infinite and that game fucking sucks. The Halo franchise is shit.
GameFreak is doing the same with Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. Fuck Pokemon added to that game like Milotic isn't even in the game yet the assets are there.
GameFreak is too fucking lazy to add in reusable assets from a previous game.

I stopped with Pokemon after they stopped doing stuff like Crystal, Emerald, Yellow, Platinum etc. I dunno, being forced into buying specific versions of a game and not just one complete experience feels scummy and they know people are willing to do it since they started selling dual packs.
Never got around to anything past Black and White. Probably a good thing I aged out of it I guess.

When they said they couldn't do it in Sword and Shield because they wanted to put those resources into higher quality animations and gameplay, I was more than okay with that... Until it turned out that was a complete fucking lie. This game is a visual disaster, and the open world is sloppy and uninteresting. However, there is actually quite a bit I do like here, and it just makes it that much more frustrating that ever since the switch to 3D they've become a one step forward, 3 steps backwards company. It's genuinely painful to watch them continue to fuck up the series over and over, and for fands to blindly defend it and buy it up every year. Especially since it's not like they don't have the resources to fix any of these problems, and they are all problems that could so easily be fixed. Like I said I'm more then okay with sacrificing some things tbh, but the end result has to be a good, and clear improvement. And this just isn't that.
They are definitely some of the worst 'aaa devs' out there along with sonic team, 343i, and Mojang. I would really love for all 4 of these companies, and the fans who continue to blindly support them to be launched into the sun and removed from existence. For them to be replaced by devs who actually have talent and know what they are doing.

There are almost 1k Pokemon already and they have to make a game every 2 years or so, it's not reasonable to keep putting every Pokemon there and make the game scalable, it's currently already a scope mess for them lol
If anything, they should be putting just a handful of Pokemon per game, like 200 or 300 max and call it a day... That way animations and graphics can keep a reasonable quality....

Good time to stop, I think B/W was the peak. Or at least it was the last time they really tried to improve on the core experience instead of just tacking on some new gimmick (plus an entirely new roster for the first and only time since the original games). X/Y onwards has felt like a huge step down in most areas.

Since Pokemon with each entry is primarily more of the same I don't think I'm missing out on much.
Pokemon is a large franchise so even if a minority of jaded players don't buy their games there will be millions that will.
And if a company knows they have a product that millions of customers will buy anyway there is no incentive to not be lazy.
A product doesn't necessarily have to be good you just have to convince your demographic that it is. And Pokemon does that on it's own by existing.

i think i'm done with pokémon. game freak is doing the bare minimum. can't really blame them because the games are selling... but pokémon deserves so much better than this. i had Violet preordered but the more i saw the less interested i became.
honestly the only pokémon game i've really enjoyed on Switch is Let's Go Pikachu!

Honestly, if you want to play older games like those, just use an emulator.
And if you want a dedicated handheld, get one of those cheap Android ones. Up to GBA I would say get a Gameboy Micro, but they sell for silly money.
3rd gen is the best, btw.
