It's a tough call. They're entirely different films, both in tone and in what they try to represent, but their similar subject matter means they are destined to be compared to each other I suppose.

I'm going to give the edge to Goodfellas - I think it's the best film I've seen - because I think that it's more cohesive and simply more enjoyable to watch. But I love them both.

I have never really loved Goodfellas. It's a solid 8/10 but there are better Scorsese films (and better crime films). It's still a lot better than the mediocre mess that is Casino.

Personally, Goodfellas. So fun and great pacing. Then again, I have never been able to finish The Godfather, one time I was extremely tired and it put me to sleep. The second time I tried to watch it some family decided to randomly pop by and got their blah blah blah on so I got distracted and couldn't properly finish the movie. I have the Blu-rays so I will finish it someday.
