Game Grumps (aka Egoraptor plays some games)

Dan is a busy man. Just be glad they have a whole group of people to provide content instead of skipping days like they did in the Jon era before they figured out what they were doing with the show. (God. Remember when there was a time we would go for days without a single episode. Those were dark days.)

Also, I wish Steam Train would revisit Hotline Miami and play the second one too. They have to fix their FPS problems, but it shouldn't be impossible. That was their first episode ever and I think they only did 2 episodes before they gave up due to the framerate issues.

And please go back to StarTropics. Please. Please please.

If Danny was not there, I would not watch the show. Jon and Arin were terrible at the games.

I agree with this. To be honest, I skip most videos with Ross, unless it's with Danny playing a point-and-click. Every once in a while they have a really good episode with him, (FTL, Super Wagon Adventure, Guns of Icarus,) but they are few and far between.
Amazing World was pretty much the perfect Ross episode. But yeah, I agree with you for the most part. Barry and Danny are the best.

I'd love for them to revisit some of the games they gave up on in the Jon era.

I'm still sad they never finished DKC2. They got to the haunted woods and did a double length "Finale?" episode where they rage quit. So I guess that's good enough.

At least it looks like they'll (Even though it's not Arin) finish DKC3. Maybe Ross can redo 2 with Barry or Danny or something since I think it was Arin who didn't like 2. I forget.

And for fun they should attempt DK64. Just for the heck of it. Also revisit the Returns series. (They did the original in the Jon era and stopped at episode 3)

More Conky Dong for everyone please!

Yeah. I've been trying to be fair and mentally remind myself that I just know Mario 64 in and out so I don't get frustrated at him missing stuff terribly... but geeze, that missing of the flag, when Danny pointed it out way early in the episode and he blew it off. Hm...

I actually am realizing now that to me, Danny is kind of the star of Game Grumps. Arin and Danny are great. Ross and Danny are pretty good. Arin, Ross, and Danny are (usually) great. Take Danny out of the equation, and the episode usually sucks.

It especially sucks because it feels like Danny isn't in much other than the mainline GG videos lately.

Ross I get annoyed with easily because he really quickly goes into high pitched squeal mode and doesn't really have anything interesting to add. It doesn't help that him and Arin don't really have comedy chemistry when it's just them.

It's definitely the people who have played the games before to a extent who seem to be bothered the most. While I played SM64 numerous times, I never actually beat it myself. My experience with it was a melting pot of playing at friends houses and watching them play. So some of the stuff Arin does is a bit annoying, but in a away I could see some people today easily having the same issues.

Probably on their discussions.

Or he's just intensely staring at Danny.

It's like he's peering into my soul.

DKC3 is getting sort of frustrating.... so is Mario 64 to a degree, it's pretty much the same thing being repated every episode, because Arin/Ross and Arin are just awful at platform games.

Enjoying Ninja Gaiden though.

I really can't blame Arin for missing the flag so much, the game really wasn't meeting him halfway on that one. The camera was actually turning away from the flag as he got closer to it

This. I know the first time I got that star it was after I had already beaten the game a couple times all the way through... That entire world was my least favorite by far.

Agreed. I had to rewatch it to see and yeah, the camera didn't help at all. You'd think the game would want to swing the camera to the flagpole when you get close. I guess it doesn't. He just happened to have it at a terrible angle.

Nah. I'm enjoying DKC3 plenty.

And Ninja Gaiden was great when the cartridge got tilted.

Minute 2

"This is kind of interesting... but there is no way I'm going to sit here for the length of a full freaking movie..."

Minute 70

"....... they aren't really going to do this again tomorrow are they? Now I'm sad..."

This was the best April Fool's day ever.

I thought that Arin was contracting out other animators to do Game Grumps Animated because he was too lazy to do them himself, but it turns out that he was doing it to help other animators that can't make good money on Youtube due to their dumb new monetization system. That's actually really cool of him.

Yeah. Ross talked about it before how Youtube screwed animators over with 'more $$$=More time watched' instead of views. After that is when the animated episodes started showing up on their own channel. It's an awesome way to give back to the artists community. Arins a cool guy because of it.

Yeah, he's definitely given less credit than he should on that front. Man is quirky as fuck and often times hard to read because of it, but there's no doubt he's a good guy.

I am so glad the anti-Jon days are over. I'm so glad they can talk about him like he's a friend again. I missed that.

BTW, what kind of bird is Jaques? (I know I can probably find it via Google.)

Also, Barry and Suzy are.... very weird together. But whatever.

Jacques is a green-cheeked conure! They're very cute, kinda pricy, though.

Thanks. He really is though. I love that Jon makes him a big part of his videos.

Also, I wonder why the Whack and Zikky episodes are so much longer. Maybe they want to finish it up faster? It's strange. I wish all their videos were at least 15 minutes instead of 10.

If I were to get a bird, it would definitely be one.

Look at that face.

Also, Zach and Wiki might be set up like wind waker was in the beginning, and deescalate to shorter episodes.

I really enjoyed it a lot. It was really fun to just hear them geek out about animation.

Am I the only one that really enjoys GameGrumps in general sucking at videogames?

I think it depends on the game, really. This is what I've noticed in myself and others:

-People get annoyed if they suck at a really well known and beloved game, like Mario 64 or Wind Waker. (I think the expectation is that Arin, at least, should be more well-versed in these classic games.)

-People do not get annoyed if they suck at a notoriously difficult game, even if the game is still beloved. (Ninja Gaiden, as a beloved example. Battle Kid still applies, even though it was less well-known.)

-People find it hilarious when they suck at a trash shovelware game that is obviously poorly designed. (Action Girlz Racing)

This isn't true in the least. How good the game is doesn't matter. It's not how good the game is, it depends on its difficulty and how it explains itself to you. Most Nintendo game are fairly straight forward so getting sick for three episodes on something obvious isn't enjoyable. Getting your ass kicked by stupidly hard or cheap games isn't frustrating to watch. It's more frustrating if you know him from sequelitis because you would assume he understand basic concepts in a game but instead and stands there and whines for multiple episodes and some things are as simple as he didn't even try other buttons on the controller. He literally just sits there completely beside himself. I don't know if it's on purpose or not but he stems to lack even the most basic critical thinking skills and instead just does his annoying whiny voice and bitch that fans will bitch about his bad play. It's gotten worse because now he literally whines about fans, what fan wants to listen to that?

Also, even Dan pointed out yet again that Arin beat SM64 for all those complaining he only played the first level. He's played the game plenty of times.

I have no problem with them sucking at games and I don't enjoy them being good or bad at them, I just don't enjoy it when they aren't having fun. If they aren't being entertained, it's not very entertaining for me.

Does anybody know when they first started doing the "ah shit dude" voice?

I feel like I'm missing part of the joke every time they do it.

I first heard it in one of the early episodes of Zelda 2, when they are going through Death Mountain. I don't know it that's where it started, though.

Dan told him where it was in the beginning on the episode, so there you go..

Oh man. I hope they actually make Bloodborne a long series and actually finish it. Between walkthroughs and summoning help they could definitely do it.
