I refuse to get hype for this season, but the cast looks very good. Definitely wondering where Mance is. They can't just cock tease new viewers and not introduce him this season..

I still don't know why they bothered to cast Shireen...maybe she gets important later on.
ASOS spoiler
I bet she'll teach Davos how to read

Casting confirms season 3 will be great. I love that video, Tormund is especially like I imagined.

And Jojen. Wow! "Little grandfather" indeed haha.

I always imagined Thoros to look like Dhalsim from Street Fighter for some reason..

Cast is great. Jojen and Meera are adorable.[SERIES]
So now we're just waiting on Mance, Edmure, Ramsay, and Vargo Hoat, based on the character lists they've provided? I wonder who they got for Mance. If there's any character for them to go big on, he's it. I guess there could be more surprise characters like Orell and Anguy, too. I figured we would get the Orell/Varamyr character now. His prologue could never translate to TV, so best to have him show up in the Wildling camp to teach Jon the warging basics he delivers through internal monologue in the book.

Also, I always imagined Thoros kind of chubby, but this guy nails the personality.

The cast looks great, especially the Reed's. I imagined Beric Dondarrion to be a bit younger though.

I'm surprised they are introducing Orell since Jon ACoK
already killed him by this point in the book.

ASOS
Having a dude with an eagle on his arm or shoulder is a whole lot easier than having 3 trained wolves, panther, etc on set. They both can fill the same role.

Well, two of those characters you mention there are already cast...

Edmure is Tobias Menzies (of ROME fame) and Anguy will be played by Philip McGinley (from... Coronation Street).

March 31, 2013. Wow. From everything I had heard we were supposed to get it later than this season but we're getting it earlier. Just barely, but still awesome.

I freaking love all the casting for S3.

The TV show is just so much better than the books it's actually not that funny.

No. Arya's storyline alone is argument against that.

I'm still waiting on an acknowledgement of Strong Belwas's existence

That's one day ahead of season 2's premiere.

Wow, some of the casting is just spot-on. I'm glad the Reeds haven't been forgotten and they look great for the roles.

I'll always remember the kid who's playing Jojen for his role in Doctor Who. Love that speech.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Do we know if Arstan is going to be in Season 3?
and whether ian mcelhinney is returning?
I can't imagine they'd cut him out, but you never know.

WOW. that really is flawless casting. And if GRRM decides to pursue a romantic interest between Meera and Bran, it won't look so Creepy, because the girl they picked for meera is really youthful looking.

It's nice to finally get a huge amount of casting news. The casting for the show has been pretty spot on to date, so I have faith that these new actors will fit their roles well.

I'm kind of shocked by Orell's inclusion.
He was already dead by this point, and they've really played down the warg stuff so far. I guess that will change in Season 3.

I rather assume the Red Viper is being put off until Season 4, so we're just waiting on Ramsay and Mance.
My recollection of the book is faint though - I don't even remember when Oberyn actually showed up.

Fuck yes fuck yes fuck yes!

Edit: Ha, and the kid from Love Actually is Jojen? Perfect!

Edit 2: Meera...underwhelming, but that's okay.

Edit 3: MC is going to be ORELL!? Wait, who the fuck is Orell again...

Edit 4: Oh that's right...that's...an odd character for him to play...you'd think he'd be Varamyr instead...

Edit: 5: weird, I thought they'd take advantage and get a black or M'easterner to play Thoros, but this guy looks fucking cool, so I'm okay with that.

Edit 6: Diana Rigg is perfect...she brings a bit more grace and humor than I expected. I always forget the character is a high born lady and sardonically humorous - I picture her as more of a toady character and that's not correct. Awesome choice.

Wife is reading them now and keeping me up to date where she is.

He doesn't arrive until past the middle mark, so he'll be season 4.

Well, Vargo and Daario are confirmed to be in.

There are also some other characters who I imagine will make it in the season. Mace Tyrell seems pretty likely. Aside from him,
we're probably going to get at least a couple of other Freys. Maybe Lame Lothar, Black Walder and Merret? Steelshanks Walton or someone else to take his place (escorting Jaime and Brienne after Harrenhal). Grey Worm. Possibly Brown Ben Plumm and Strong Belwas (Dany needs some additional characters to interact with).

Plus, any number of minor characters who might be cast for a couple of scenes.

Seriously, though, Orell?

Are they combining him with Varamyr?

Clash of King spoilers/light SOS spoilers:
I mean, Jon KILLS Orell before this season even starts...technically one of the guys Jon and Halfhand killed in, what, episode 6 (?) was supposed to Orell. I think they'll combine him and Varamyr since Var gets Orell's eagle after he dies and is a thorn in Jon's side from the beginning of Book 3....

Since they completely dropped the ball on warging stuff in Season 2, I guess they're planning to use him to introduce some of the concepts that had already been in place in the book. It is weird that they aren't just calling him Varamyr, though.

Oh shit, Brutus is Edmure?! Not red enough, but he's actually perfect. That's great.

Anton Lesser looks good and creepy, but I always pictured Qyburn as more fat and short, basically Kenneth Cranham.

Yeah, I suppose Orell is easier to say than Varamyr.

Well, there was some kind of Bran stuff...
