Something that was funny for about two pages in a thread.

And yet that picture still cracks me up:lol
And what's wrong with Halo 2? It had some pretty sweet graphics. Of course this game looks better than Halo 2, but there ain't nothnig wrong with H2.

Halo 2 graphics must blow you away.

This looks better than Halo 2, to me. I'm not a graphic whore and really didn't see the big rush into the next gen. I'm still happy with this gens visuals and since nothing from the "next gen" machines, IE PS2 or Xbox 2, do anything to expand gaming, I'm happy.

Apparently you weren't around for all the PDZ/20%/50%/75% of the 360's power stuff. Good times.

You know, I was, and I could actually buy *some* of that. Here's why: Xbox 360 uses a combination of multicore architecture + unified shader technology. The early dev kits weren't really representative of the system's power because, quite frankly, the hardware in the dev kits couldn't even do some of the stuff that the final system could do. There were some real drastic differences in regards to hardware comparisons.

I don't know if the same can be said about the Revolution.

Your right on final hardware it will probably look better than Halo2. Given the current sub Halo2 graphics though, saying these graphics are impressive means Halo2 graphics should blow you away still.

It can.

The success of DS and the impending Revolution is really causing some folks to come apart at the seams.

These forums too. There is a little less control around here than I am used to, especially with that monkey and his trolling thread. I don't like it. Methinks no. I don't.

The first PD0 screens were very early - taken way before they were released. Hell some of them were from the Xbox 1 version I think. It was a big screw-up by M$ and noone should be comparing wallguy et al to Red Steel.

But fancy technology isn't everything. To me Kameo was the worst looking game at the Xbox 360 launch despite clearly having the most advanced renderer. I think what people (who like the Red Steel screens) are responding to are things like art direction and polish as opposed to fancy shaders and whatnot.

Wow, we're back to the graphics discussion? Come on.

Obviously the graphics aren't "OMG AMAZING". They are good though, and they do their job.

I'm not truly interested in how the graphics look. After reading the article, it's clear that this game is going to be super fun. The controller is used for so many cool things. It's a shame that some people are so shallow that they can't see anything beyond graphics.

Bingo, finally saw.

Ok, so its not mind blowing - but who ever said any of the pics were?

The detail is higher than GC can produce now, and frankly, the game just SOUNDS fun - hell, even the pics LOOK fun.

So, no complaints.
I'll be playing it in under a month, and we'll check back and see how it stands, haha

Edit:

The biggest thing TO note, I think, is that its said to be extremely violent, bloody game - yet there are pictures of people BEING shot, and not a single splot of blood to be found.

So, violence, but toned-down? No blood/gore/excessive violence?
I'd say that's Nintendo's influence directly. But hey, I don't play games for blood, so....

Well said! :) I love my games to have a stable framerate, but overall art direction is more imporant than technicalities. Shenmue is still the most beautiful game to me. Wonderful use of colours and sky.

Ohhh, sword pic looks cool.

Two hands gripping the blade, its brought back over the shoulder, swung downward... looks like the screen tilts back a bit as if your actually bringing it back over your shoulder and leaning backwards....

looks fun

Edit:

Learning motion-based combos will be the key to winning swordfights.

If you look at a certain picture of the game (the one with the master dude standing over the enemies), I think it's important to note that the lighting still looks really good. I think lighting will add to this game to make it look much much better than current generation games.

Aren't the pictures from some shooting range? Anyway, don't blame Nintendo... they don't censor stuff anymore.

It probably can't render the blood.

I keed, I keed.

a.) Graphics = Gameplay
b.) Graphics > Gameplay
c.) Graphics < Gameplay

Everyone guess one he thinks.

Halo 2 blew me away (and by this I mean away from Xbox). I finished it in under a week and skipped all the super tedious parts to try and find a real game somewheres, but I couldn't.

You blow me away too. Do you want to hook up?

I have to agree, I was in a little discussion about Oblivion, about how the game looks absolutely great, but the art direction for the characters was just plain horrible. I don't get all this hate on the Rev and Red Steel either. From what I can tell the game is going to look great, and the info PhoenixDark posted had me wanting to play this game, figure out the entire controlscheme.

I also agree with his remark about some people being shallow about graphics. And will someone please stop the frequent trolling in here? Makes this place look like some rancid kindergarten, it's quite annoying right now.

Eh? The Nintendo-published Geist had a crapload of blood and gruesome deaths...This isn't the Nintendo of the SNES era...

No matter the trolls, this game is turning heads. I am still deciding between Playstation 3 and Revolution, but this game has sparked incredible excitement from me. I know a couple peeps in the industry, and their office's head was turned at this game as well. There are so many possibilities, and so many of those possibilities have been filled by UBISOFT (as seen in the PhoenixDark details). For a launch title, this sounds great honestly.

Thats crazy, wasnt the thread where Nintendo revealed the actual revmote controller only 50 pages long? I remember a shitstorm response from that too. Can't believe this has exceeded it.

Art direction? There's a perfectly average looking arm firing at some generic looking thugs with a generic looking gun. There's nothing special about it.

Details plz

I know you can't give out company names and such, but could you give out more information on this?

Believe.

even though the scans are meh, you can tell that it's not looking as good as the first pics showed. some of the pics still look really great though.

the scans totally make it seem like we can expect a lot of interactivity with the levels though. atleast as much as crisis zone.

Yeah, creating a game with the Rev-mote is inspiring to say the least. As soon as the first details about the controller were released, my head started to spin. The options are virtually limitless, and now that it's a certainty you can have another function just by tilting the controller to the left or to the right, well, let's just say I have to take another look at some of my own ideas.

The game looks good, and now that we all know we can expect X360-like graphics (bar the HDTV setting) judging by those screens, I'm pretty interested in it too at the moment. Oh and for the recored, I decided already what consoles I was gonna get.. Ehm, all of them... :p

I dunno, I dont see anything wrong with the new scans- if anything, they clarify that this is way beyond GC. The shot with the cash flying all over the place, you can see cigarette smoke in the middle, as well as sparks, and crap flying from the couch. The faces also have good detail and show solid expressions. If the animation is solid, then I like what Im seeing.

Seeing these screens makes wonder what guys like

Yu susuki
Kojima
Mikami
Bioware
Factor 5
EAD

Could do with with rev and the controller...I either want the rev to dominate or Sony to copy some aspects of the controller.

I don't understand your complain guys!!!!
Nintendo have always downplay the graphic. Those new scans are correct (better then NGC/PS2/XBX but not better then X360 and PS3*) and respect what Nintendo have always say : the graphic will be near X360/PS3 at SD resultion.

*I really like the backgrond :) and all those flying thing... it look really cool. The biggest problem come from some characters which look not so nextgen but thats it.

We get it from your previous 50 posts in this thread. You're not interested in the game. Give it a rest.

The dpi and contrast of those new scans are terrible. I don't know if that is a fair depiction of how the game actually looks even at this stage. Turn the brightness and contrast up of any scan like that and imperfections will become increasingly noticeable. I can still see the incredible detail put into the game with lighting and shadows even with the crappy resolution of these new scans. I would wait until official shots are release because I assure u that these new scans make the game look hideous and the person who scanned them are at fault.

Well to be fair, crappy scans can actually make a game look better than it really is, too. It can disguise things nicely.

I still think it looks good, but I sincerely doubt it will look like the earlier stuff we've seen. We'll see...I could be eating crow on the 20th.
