Games everyone hated but you?

I really enjoyed BTB in Halo 4. That shit was fun and they had some of the best maps for that mode in the franchise. I wasn't too crazy about the rest of the game but BTB was awesome.

CyberPunk 2077: I've played it on PC with a 3070 after the patch 1.2. Don't care about what people expected or the trans drama or the crunch or .. What I played was very enjoyable.

MGS4: love the series, but the 4th one is my favorite. The different settings of each chapter, the music, the wtf FMVs, the designs, "Snake had a hard life"... so good.

Crackdown 3 (it's easily the best in the series)
Chaos Legion
Final fantasy XV
Anthem
Assassin's Creed Unity
DmC: devil may cry
Resident evil 6 (it's pretty much re5 but overstays it's welcome, by being nearly 30 hours long)

It seems like everyone in gaming forums hates TLOU2. But I think the game is so awesome.
Fixed that for you.

The game is awesome, but some people are acting like the game is some religious icon needed to be fought over to see which side is right and/or wrong. It's ridiculous.

On topic: Cyberpunk 2077.

I love the game for what it is, and I enjoyed my 140 hours with it. I just hate everything surrounding the game and how frustrating it is that such a waste of an opportunity to create something truly ground breaking.

But the moments spent with the characters, and the great voice acting and dialogue, that was a beautiful gaming experience. I loved that game for that.

I'm a Sonic fan, so a lot of Sonic games, one of the most prominent examples probably being Sonic Forces (it's great!). But I like most of them.

Zelda Skyward Sword is my favourite Zelda game.

Assassin's Creed Unity is my favourite AC game (and I like it quite a lot).

I think Vexx is a great game.

I also like Croc a lot.

Killzone: Shadowfall - I thought it was fucking aces back when the PS4 launched. I loved the multiplayer in it too, very solid. When I finished it I was shocked to head over to the Penny-Arcade forums and here at the time and seeing that so many people either found it simply mediocre or straight up shitty.

Evolve on the PC. It had some obvious balance issues at launch, and the microtransactions were out of control - but at its core, with a good group of friends, it was actually quite fun. And they improved many aspects of the game fairly quickly. Sadly the population on it went straight through the core of the earth, jettisoned out the other side, and flew off into space never to be seen again, so it took upwards of an hour to find a game even just a few months after launch. Ah well, I had a good month with it.

Don't know about everyone but a lot of people hate Dragon Age 2. I like it a lot. It's not as good as its predecessor but it is way better than Inquisition.

I enjoyed Infamous Second Son much more than the first two, although the story around Cole was better.

Yakuza games before they became "cool".

The Order
LAIR, but only after fixing the controls

Seeing the sales number, Returnal.

Pikmin games.

Visual novels like Steins;Gate or Aegis Rim 13 Sentinels.

Parasite Eve.

The Clock Tower series

Probably a lot more which I can't remember.

Don't know that folks hated it when it released, but I know it gets shat upon regularly now.

It's literally my favorite in the series. I just loved (and still do) controlling link with the stylus. Played the hell out of it.

Recently? Biomutant i guess.

Altought the majority of people who tried the game in here were satisfied so hated by everyone could be an exageration.

As a kid I probably played more Simpsons Skateboarding than I should've. I never made it that far into the game as it was really difficult. I realise now that that was probably due to awful controls making it practically unplayable. However it's still a Simpsons game and that was good enough for me.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon - no other AC comes close to its gameplay dynamics
Syndicate (2012) - the best FPS aesthetically and gameplay wise
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City - the best RE shooter

Umbrella Corps.

Amazing MP experience that checked off all the marks yet everyone wanted the game to rot in hell.

Fantastic gameplay.
Great maps.
Sweet weapons and balance.
Quick matchmaking and great netcode.

Idk what else people needed, but folks reviewed the game with blatant lies. It was just the game to dunk on like Law Breakers.

This game was awesome. I remember looking forward to it for so long. Some of the earliest N64 screen shots I remember. I didn't look like those screens when it came out, but that game really went for it. Held back by the tech obviously but it really tried a lot of cool things with varying degrees of success.

Anyway, here's mine:

Castlevania 64, not LoD, is my third favorite game of all time.

Metroid: Other M is my 2nd favorite Metroid game.

LoZ: Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game.

I freaking adore Starfox Zero and it's my favorite Starfox game and possibly a top 10 game of last gen for me.

I prefer KoF XII over XIII.

DMC Devil May Cry by Ninja Theory, combat is so fucking good.
FFXIII, blows away even early ps4 games in terms of presentation.
Wolfenstein 2, played on hard, finished on hard. Git gud haters.

Darksiders 3: Many were disappointed with 3 since it abandoned the Zelda-like gameplay of the first two - including me. Was so disappointed the first time didn't touch it again until a year later after getting an OLED tv and wanting something to really show it off. Ended up loving the combat and the game overall.

Why people are posting ultra popular mainstream stuff like TLOU2 and say it's hated is beyond me. That's like saying cheeseburger is hated.

Anyway, on topic: Civilization Beyond Earth is considered the bastard child of the Civ series and yet I absolutely love it, the atmosphere, the map variety, the early game, the tech threes... and of course the absolute greatest OST ever made with legend Grant Kirkhope.
