It's not really needed unless you want an extra scene with Maria/Ezio's mom over Petturico/Ezio's youngest brother's death on PC since there's no achievement for it IIRC. On 360/PS3 there is. And IIRC there's no benefit for it doing it on any of them (unless there's a cape, I forget... I'm going to check).

Really, getting the cape with no notoriety is nice but you get it so late in the game it's pretty "worthless" in the big picture.

Edit: Ah, yeah, you get a warhammer at 50 and the Auditore Cape for 100. You use it for "Show your Colors" achievement/trophy on PS3/360 because it ups your notoriety in all areas automatically. So not too useful unless you like a challenge. :p

I suspected all it did was get the mother to talk which was why I was leaning towards ignoring it.

That's cool that you can change your cape - I haven't found any of those yet. Removing notoriety doesn't seem that amazing considering how easy it is to just rip down posters. Generally, I try to avoid gaining notoriety in the first place though.

However, those damn musicians are probably going to spur me to homicidal rampages. Who knew they would include someone just as annoying as those damnable beggars from the first game!

Yeah, the scene isn't really illuminating but it's nice.

Hah, you can simply pickpocket the musician's and they'll leave (after dropping their guitar) in disappointment. But it ups your notoriety. Hence why having the capes that don't raise it is nice. :p

Sorry to hear about your issues, Scott, must be hard to not be able too be "yourselves" even in your homes, I can relate to the PDA thing though, partly because I'm not out and partly because it's not really my thing. Once he comes out, maybe out will be easier for him. I hope it works out for you. :)

Well, the reason I knew he liked guys prior to him telling me was because we used to share a cell phone. He specifically said he was "gay" to his ex-boyfriend back then (I swear he would always forget to delete his texts). He might have just started liking women in those few years since, but I just think he's saying he's bi as a step to see if I'm okay with it. Considering he's never had a girlfriend and has never shown an interest in girls it doesn't seem like an impossible situation. It doesn't really matter anyway.

Boyfriend has been out of town for five weeks, five more until he gets back... I've watched an unhealthy amount of porn in his abscence. How do you guys deal with being away from your boo for a significant amount of time? I haven't had the slightest urge to sleep with anyone else, but good lord I have never been this horny in my life.

I did go see him for the first time in five weeks this weekend. Best sex ever. However, he's staying in DC right now (we live in NYC) and I have never feared for my safety as a gay man. Everyone there was telling me the most awful stories of gays being beaten to death regularly there and you could see the racial and social segregation all over the city. I couldn't walk down the street holding my bf's hand and we DEFINITELY did not kiss in public except in the parts of town where it's "okay." such a strange place.

That he never expected anything sexual and just wanted to make a new friend. He cusses up a storm, completely blowing his lid -- seemingly taken offense. Then he proceeds to insult the state I'm in and rubs in the fact that he'll be in Cali while I'll be stuck in nowheresville (which is funny, because I actually do intend to move there in 4-5 years -- nvm the fact that I don't think I'm in nowheresville and I love my hometown).

I feel a little hurt, but at the same time wonder if I should take this seriously. Am I right to just ignore this? Or should I really listen to what he has to say? I told him before he blew up that maybe I was reading between the lines, and still... that happened. Was it warranted?

Sorry for the huge post in advance, but I felt like maybe you guys could help me out. Am I just jumping to conclusions and being a dick? : \

Sounds like the guy definitely DID want just a hook up and is offended that you didn't go for it. If you were polite about it and he blew up over it then why would you even let this bother you? No.. if someone says they don't intend to stay in town and their profile says they want casual sex then you should jump to the obvious conclusion.

Seriously man? It's DC not the deep south. There were TONS of gays when I went there and I didn't feel unsafe in the slightest. Also it's only a 4h bus ride away, why can't you just go every (or every other) weekend?

A little late for this, but it honestly sounds like you need to bail out :/ he sounds very insecure and you just started dating.. neither of you are going to be comfortable like that and it seems he wants another different type of person from you.

Basically, if you cannot be yourself while being with another person then the relationship is not worth it.
