Does 50/60hz matter for handheld games? Or was that only ever for home consoles?
PAL regions may get shafted with 50hz again.
There's no PAL format for the GBA. Europe is safe!

While it's by far one of the best games on the system, it seems like an unusual game to begin with. I would have expected something from a more generally popular series.
It's because the 3DS is not physically capable of properly emulating the GBA games.
The way the ambassador programme worked had the GBA games load in GBA mode in DS mode, with no 3DS features; no save states, no reset, no virtual console controls, no online access. This is not acceptable and there were even emulation issues.
The 3DS can't handle SNES games, let alone GBA ones.

What are the chances that you can play this locally against a friend, TV vs. Gamepad?
I don't buy it. If a single hmebrewer can get GBA emulation to the state it is on PSP, surely Nintendo can do the same or better on 3DS.
Interesting that they're starting with Advance Wars.
Shame that the line up is one game (right? I'm not misreading?) when Japan is getting Super Mario World, WarioWare, Golden Sun, F-Zero and Advance Wars. Followed by the addition of The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, Mario & Luigi RPG, Wario Land 4, Mario Tennis Advance, and Metroid Fusion on the 30th.
Why is Nintendo so against releasing the older Pokemon games on the VC?
Makes no sense. Look at the popularity of TPP.
Explain. You do realise the team that deals with the Virtual Console has nothing to do with development of other games, right?

So THIS is what we get until Kart 8 inJuneMay as well be June.
Estimated Price ?
10/$
One game that we know of so far. There's bound to be more.
who asked for gba vc? is there still no n64 vc?

Oh, that's not the full line up? Good. One game is a paltry way to start.
You're going to flip when you find out they're bringing in DS games to the VC on Wii U.
Very this. No sense.

Might make sense in the long term.
If the next hand held will be based on the same tech as the WiiU.
And if Nintendo is making it so that any device you own from them in the future
can play any of the VC games you downloaded.
The very best GBA game (that isn't Mother 3)hope they release wario ware twisted (grand father of the waggle)

I still don't understand why they're doing GBA VC on Wii U
im finding this hard to believe. they have to find a way to fix one or the other.
Read my previous post. It explains the difference between emulating and accurately emulating. Nintendo want this to be accurate.
I still don't understand why they're doing Genesis games on the 3DS
no one cares, seriously.

So you'd rather have games with severe emulation issues? Reduced/unstable frame rates, glitchy graphics, things not loading correctly etc.
Ok, to each their own. I much prefer Nintendo's strive for perfection.

It's not something that can be fixed. It's like trying to put a square peg into a circular hole.

They should make more power available via eshop. Find a solution. Everything is better than something being available on Wii U, don't you know that already?
There's a place where it's good enough. At the very least this isn't a good reason but there are probably other better reasons.
Dear lord I hope you're being facetious
Yeah, and the 3DS isn't capable of doing it to a point where it's good enough. Same with SNES games.
It's likely going to take 3rd parties a few months to get up and going in the west (because they're all Japanese) whereas Japan will have them fairly immediately so they'll want to stretch what they have internally.

It likely is, but it's not low hanging fruit. It's likely more about effort and priorities. If they're working on N64, DS and GBA for Wii U I seriously doubt they would even have the bandwidth to bother with it not would it provide as much benefit.
