Used to love GOW, but am really kind of burned out on it. I just recently rented The Origins Collection from Gamefly because I never got the chance to play the games on PSP, but found myself hating the fixed camera and just getting bored with it. I'll still end up playing GOW 4, but am honestly not excited about yet another entry in this series.

inb4 Norse mythology, who else is he going to kill, Jesus Christ and God........... ehh who am I kidding?

I really wish there's a SF game in development. I want a proper modern stealth game this gen or at least the next. I also wouldn't mind another epic GOW. I thought GOW3 was awesome.

God of War 4 = God of War 0. Kratos as a teen killing minor gods.

Or:

Starts with a flashback where we discover he's actually Norwegian and took the name from some late Spartan called Sir Kratos when he was a little boy. Then flashforward to after the whole of Greece has fallen (
is this still fiction?!
) and he returns to his roots.

Whatever happens, I just hope that it does not involve Zeus surviving and Kratos crawling out of Hades yet again in order to try and finish the job. Talk about the never ending story, lol.

I don't care if they keep Kratos or the combat system. Just give me a new mythology. If its still in Ancient Greece I will be extremely disappointed. I mean who is stronger than Zues?

Hasn't Kratos killed everyone yet? Only person i can think of that's still alive is Aphrodite. Is it going to be a whole game of fucking her?

Bloody love GoW, can't wait

There are still the Hekatonkheires to kill. And Charybdis.

Just announce this Sony, I need my injection of over the top violence and gore. Also, Norse mythology Kratos would be nice.

Can't imagine SSM's God of War team has ever gone this long without saying a thing. It will be two years in March that God of War release and there was zero DLC and only one minor patch. I hope it's worth the wait.

Can we have someone other than Kratos this time? I like him an all, but time for some new faces!

Can we get a GoW in which we have a like-able character? If so, I am down. Co-op intrigues me though.

So once they get to number three or so in a series, is anyone ever really surprised that there's another sequel in development? Just curious... when I see something "hinted at and removed" for a ver.4, I'm like, "Why does it matter? We all know you're making another one eventually."

Complete reboot (no Kratos, new combat system, etc) or I'm skipping it.

This, I played through the first 2 HD editions and started the 3rd but have not gone back since defeating the first boss. I think I am already fatigued on the series. The graphics are nice but the combat is not engaging enough for me. I prefer aspects of Castlevania Lord of Shadows more even, like how I am forced to aggressively attack enemies when I am left with an inch of life because that is the only way to regain HP.

Everyone knows that it's coming, so it's now just a matter of when. This removal would suggest that it was announced or will be announced at Destination Playstation.

I recently finished both games in the Origins Collection and I'm totally ready for God of War IV.

Great news. Cant wait to see how much they improved the engine.

Also, I never really had much of a problem with the combat. Easy enough to pickup and play and challenging enough to whoop your ass on the harder difficulties.

Whats close to Greece? Italy, right? Looks like its time to kill a country with alternatively similiar gods, dudes.

Kratos Vs. Mars? I'd dig it.

A different mythology is a cool idea, but instead of norse (which has been already covered by Too Human  ) i'd love a game with a Mayan/Aztec setting and pantheon.

I'd want to see Kratos gone wild in Italy. Just for laughs.

But its still fucked up we didnt get to fight King Midas. That wouldve been dope, brohemes. Imagine you fighting this motherfucker that everything he touches, turns to gold.

Fucking wasted opportunity, is what that is.

No No No, I want them to base the next game on Norse Mythology, this way we are guaranteed to have 9 more sequels, each one focusing on butchering each realm,,

Kratos would be so historically misplaced in Norse or other foreign mythology. It would be just awkward seeing this greek brute, fighting something so different.

I'd think its best they stick to something similiarly recognisable. Roman mythology has many counter parts to greek mythology which makes more sense.

It better be a new character/world.

If it stars Kratos, will officially not care. That storyline is DONE, and it's incredibly lazy to go back to it.

Motherfuckers put the best part of greek mythology on a handheld?? Curse you Santa Monica!

It's on PS3 now.

Anyway, I'm replaying GoW3 right now and am always up for GoW as long as they still have ideas. It's one of the rare series where I don't really need the formula to change, the spectacle and satisfying combat are enough for me.

I don't want to see Kratos in Norse Mythology. We need a Norse god or new character and perhaps more open world style gameplay involving exploration of Asgard. It would still be linear, just more room to explore a bit.

If you want Norse mythology, or any non-Greek mythology, then you want a new IP. I'm not saying it'd be a bad thing! It just wouldn't be a God of War game.

Egyptian mythology would be the best choice they could go with.

Come on, fighting badasses like Anubis, Horus, Set, Isis, Amen-Ra, etc? Loads of potential.

Why not? If it's a game about fighting mythological creatures, it'll be a GoW to me. Just because the mythology isn't the same doesn't make it a different IP.

I hope this means a spin-off on Vita. I've enjoyed those more than the main entries aside from 2.

I, for one, would love to engage in an epic Kratos VS JC battle. Moses can referee.

Roman mythology is pretty much the same as greek. Romans basically went all Gameloft on the Greeks, IIRC.

+1 for Norse/Egyptian mythology, but with a new character. More badass, less emo plz.
