Holy shit, if we see Fenrir I will lose it.

That shot reminded me of 300.

During E3 live Cory stated that the trailer was running on the original PS4 not the Pro. That's pretty amazing if you ask me.
My thoughts as well. Would work with the story as well, if it is touching on masculinity like speculated. Kratos' rage ravaged the world, and other pantheons picked up the pieces. I don't think they will be pleased with a godkiller walking free among them.I think it's more Norse mythology has claim the ruins Kratos left of the Greek mythology. The world was completely fucked by the end of 3.
Do wonder how old Kratos will be if I'm right.
Who wants to place some bets? I say 7th of march 2018.

I will not say absolutely close , but this looks close to me.
Sorry for posting them again

Legitimately baffled that people thinks combat looks better than the previous games.
I don't really understand the stance towards the kid of some people. He is just a kid and will be important for Kratos, and vice versa. What's so annoying about him? Don't you like his voice, the way he is written? Really curious.
I dont like babysitting npc's.
And father/son hook doesnt really do anything for me.
I think the combat looks amazing, just look at the variety of attack moves Kratos did in like 1 minute of combat footage.
Kratos switch between shield, axe and bare hand seamlessly, the axe itself has a lot of moves, you can hold your attack for ground pound, there are also variety of way to throw your axe. I really like the wide throw Kratos did which circles around Kratos, basically it'll be the sweeping attack Kratos so often use for crowd control like the Triangle attack in previous GoW.
You don't like TLoU then, I assume?
It seems like the boy takes care of himself though, just like Ellie. And he brings some mad combos.
Carson is still alive tho

i think we deserve to know why they dumped him.
What does "early" means? Many games at other conferences also used this phrase. Is it Q1 or could be Q2 as well?
Much like Logan wouldn't really work without the rest of the series informing Logan's character and his relationship with Charles and the contrast between those X-Men superheroics in the past with the bleak world now, based on what we've seen, I don't think this story with Kratos would work without those past games. The contrast between Kratos then and Kratos now, and the lasting effect of all the shit you did in those past games, is what makes the story incredibly fascinating here for meI absolutely love the series, especially 3, and I'm sad to see that the God of War formula will probably never return again. I can understand that it was a product of its time and games like that won't be made for the foreseeable future. But, I'm all in on this new game, even though it's not really God of War outside of having Kratos in it. It could have been a completely new IP.

Same reason David Hayter got dumped I guess, to get a better actor. Or someone that can provide more nuance to emotional moments anyway.

I want to wake up and have it be March 2018Yeah, we know when this beast will be released.
More than that, he's part of your combat options, with a dedicated button that lets you do ranged attacks and other moves. He's a weapon in your arsenal as much as he is your son, how fittingFirstly, nothing about what we've seen implies you're babysitting him. He clearly holds his own in combat with a pretty sweet role. Reminds me a lot of Ellie in TLOU.
But the hook doesn't need to actually do anything for you to enjoy the game. Are you sure you're not vehemently AGAINST the father son thing rather than saying you're neutral towards it?

If only Kiefer Sutherland brought that.
I prefer the new voice actor for Kratos though.

Pretty much. As a huge fan of the series, this is doing things I never knew I wanted a God of War game to do. Or knew a God of War game even could do. And yet it makes so much sense in hindsightIn terms of story, this really looks like it's going to be something very special. This could be a new IP where we were "told" that the main character had a long and troubled past... Like many games, you are often told that your character has seen many battles, been in many wars, etc; but you never actually experience any of it. By being tied to the GOW universe, we actually get to inherit Krato's legacy. We're not only told we're legends, we know it. We've actually been through major shit with him over the past 15 years. We grew with him, and FINALLY we get to see how Kratos also grew and changed after everything that's happened. Little details like showing restraint in yelling in the first trailer (a very common habit of his), an overall smoother and lower-pitched voice... It's good to know Kratos can become wiser.
This may be one of the best franchise overhauls we've seen in a while. Something where the developers learned from the previous games; where they know how long the series (and Kratos) has been with us, and use that to build something truly unique, both in terms of gameplay and story.
The combat looked good but you're downplaying what it was like in previous games. In 3, you could switch seamlessly between the blades, the cestus (melee), the whip, and hades' blades, and they all had their own movesets plus the use of items like the helios head, the bow, hermes' boots, and the different magical attacks for each weapon and finally the rage mode.
I absolutely love the series, especially 3, and I'm sad to see that the God of War formula will probably never return again.
