I want one of these.

so i am just wondering how is the Nurburgring gonna work? i mean its a 24hr track and they are planing to put the entire track from start to finish. so yea is it gonna be like and hour long track or something. god i am so lost.

We should still get videos from the demo that's at the 24hours of Nurburgring. Some people from GTplanet have already said that they're going to go and record some footage. And i'm sure others will also.

24 Hours of the Nurburgring is a real-life race. The track itself doesn't take but 7 to 10 minutes to lap depending on the car you're driving. And they lap this track for 24 hours, over and over and over again. Its why its called 'endurance racing'.

OHHhhhh thank you.

Not surprisingly the Nurburgring demo is going to be from the newest build of the game

It’s at this event where lucky attendees will be able to experience the latest milestone in the development of Gran Turismo 5 – a bank of interactive pods hosting the very newest Gran Turismo 5 code featuring the Nurburgring in all of its full, twisting banking, flat out glory.

And the two most hated words for a GT fan

Of course not everyone’s going to be lucky enough to make it to Nurburgring this weekend and more’s the shame but not to worry, feast your eyes on the on these images and look forward to getting your turn on GT5 very soon.

Very soon is better than soon. I guess that means it's almost here.

Sometimes i think the soon word means they will show it at E3 and then launch it in july... but then, it just doesn't make any sense... altough i would love it.

"Very soon" means "hopefully before you die".

I expect nothing less than "shipping to stores now" at the end of whatever they show at E3.

You might expect nothing less than Megan Fox having sex with you after just looking at her while you are at it.

Does anyone know if the race is on TV in North america? I saw the link for the stream, just prefer to watch stuff on TV, and will that stream work for people in NA?

Nice.......I wonder what res we will be able to export at. Didn't they say something like the absolute least would be 7 or 8 megapixel?

Kaz said that at a minimum it should be 8 megapixels and that they were working on getting it up to 20megapixels.

They already put out like 18 megapixels pictures or something so 20 shouldn't be that hard (edit: beaten). Man this is going to be so cool. Hopefully I can make it there for the 24hours thing to play the new build :D

MotorTrend have had a go

At a special sneak preview this week at the Nürburgring in Germany, we test drove the just revealed Nürburgring 24-hour circuit on the GT5 platform. And we found it simply stunning.

The new game will offer gamers a choice of the GP course, the Nordschleife or the full 24-hour course which is a combination of the two. What impresses more than in any previous version of the GT franchise are the clarity and detail of the track, grandstands and cockpit. As expected the game is more realistic than anything before it, making the sensation of actually being in a car on the circuit more believable than ever.

Given that this writer will be co-driving with GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi in a Lexus IS-F in the 24-hour race this weekend, we practiced on the IS-F and posted times around the full course of 10 minutes flat.

New features of the game include a tyre grip penalty which temporarily reduces grip if you go off the track and onto the grass or into the gravel. It takes around three to four corners to retain full grip again. Drivers will also feel like they are in the hot seat when they crash into a guard rail and sparks fly.

Gamers can also look forward to night driving and 3D driving in the near future.

That sounds infinitely better than Prologues speed penalty.

losing grip after being on grass or gravel already happens on prologue -.- the mentioning of night again pisses me off Ò_Ó i hope at e3 they finally answer (or show) it clearly that its on all tracks or just some

But you also gain insta-traction when you get back on the tarmac, this sounds as if it's prolonged as a punishment, which imo is a great and fairly realistic idea.

its not instantly you can clearly feel it for a bit :P

It sounds like he's saying that your tires will get dirty and you'll need time to clean them off. That would be new to the series. In Prologue it never really felt like you were penalized for going off the track.
