In GT5 the nose camera is mounted deep within the car, not actually on the bumper where it should be. Watch this collision...

Notice how contact with the wall seems a little premature? That's been an issue for me since GT5 videos first started hitting the internet and I think Prologue might have been similar but I can't remember now. And it's particularly aggravating when you accidentally rear-end a car thinking that you have more room to maneuver.
First off I agree with the others in saying that we don't want to see a Forza-esque payout. It takes the grinding to another level and when you want to upgrade cars it leaves you no money to do anything. Didn't want to make any comparison to get banned but since others did I'm going for it.
About that "bumper" cam...this is the cam I'm using until they have an adjustable cockpit view or hood view and all I have to say is that you should get used to it.
I would like to think that it in fact sits over the front axle.
I think it's better than a literal bumper cam because the distance between the bumper and front axle is different in many cars and it affects how you perceive the car to react to steering.
Driving from a hood/cockpit gives you the most honest representation because the distance between the driver and front axle of the car is accurate.
Say you're driving this older Jag XK8:
Pretty apparent that a camera on the front bumper would "feel" a certain way when driving. The front tip of the car is a good distance from the tires. A camera on the front axle would feel another. The cockpit view would feel different than the first two.
Because the pivot point is on those front two tires it will affect how the car feels. In GT I think it sits on the front axle so that way if you go from this car to a car like the
Embolado concept the distance from the front bumper to axle won't matter.
This has always been the theory of myself and the guys I play with locally. We could be wrong.

Why would they bother getting the systems in place for night races and then limit them to one track?
We could have asked them that about previous GT titles. It's just wise to keep expectations low when it comes to this. Nothing is impossible but...

Could look a bit off but I'd like to think it's due to a tight suspension. Read: Sports bra.

i can't think of any other game released this generation which occurs night races on all tracks with the exception of need for speed carbon and burnout paradise.
Project Gotham 3 and 4.
Project Gotham 4 had night and dynamic weather at the same time. With puddles which were an incredible touch. You could hydroplane or plow into them slowing you down.
I previously thought that GT should also adopt these puddles because they do change the dynamics of the track but upon more research I've found that many racetracks are designed with water runoff in mind so that pools of water are minimized off track. It would only be fitting when racing through city locales.
