Since Eric Boltjes is back for this one, it should be stellar. He was lead designer for KZ2, left during kz3, and is now back for shadow fall.
I played KZ2 a lot. 3 not so much.
Is there any member from the GG team on Gaf?

The lack of any footage from GC is getting stupid. Its already the 22nd and open to the public. Is the game not playable to the public? I mean, we're getting BF4 footage.
What does that say of the single player for the next time that we sit it demoed? Pants will be crapped. The game will likely end up surpassing it's model renderings, which the mp looks on par with already. It's just insane what we are witnessing
Agreed. I like being immersed in SP games and sometimes more eye candy can add to that. No one is really ever immersed or caring all that much about visuals in SP, let that be as responsive as possible. 60fps for all console games is a tall order that's just setting up for disappointment but 60fps for MP can definitely happen. I think we'll see more games follow suit, at least from Sony's first party.
I thought Goldeneye had stuff like characters and weapons that were unlockable?
This is the best...
I hope it becomes a trend honestly. I don't think it's realistic to aim for 60 FPS with everything, or maybe even the best choice for most games. I'll take a nicer looking game with more effects for campaigns, and then more responsiveness for competitive play.
I would argue responsive controls makes a huge part in immersion. How can you be truly immersed when you can feel the delay in the controls? It never feels like you have full and direct control of your character. To each his own though.
Nothing could possibly be as jarring as MoH 2010's MP being on an entirely different engine from the SP. SP was UE3 and MP was Frostbite. The gun models, HUD, and lighting were entirely different. It's an interesting solution. SP dialled up to pretty-pretty and MP set to that... feel. Yeah.
But will it look like two different teams worked on it? Will the two modes feel like part of a whole.
I'm just not very sensitive to input lag. 30fps is fine to me as long as it's smooth. Obviously I can tell a difference between 30 and 60, just not as much as most gaffers, and there are some genres that benefit immensely from 60fps but some games benefit more from having worlds that look more realistic and feel more alive.

As much as this looks awesome I can't stop worry about the controls.
This seems to have the same camera acceleration present in the other Killzones.
The way the player shoot off to the side when trying to correct his aiming (right at the start) then the drunken CQC part. The camera picking up speed over time as it turns. All the same problems as before.
This isn't imput lag it's just acceleration on the imput.
GG keeps doing this shit saying it's their trade mark weighty feel. They will never learn it seems...
I wish Killzone: Shadow Fall had splitscreen. I wan't split-screen FPS other than Call of Duty. I hope Star Wars Battlefront will provide this.
It is never smooth.
No they have learned their lesson. They've stopped listening to the people who don't like their game for what is.GG keeps doing this shit saying it's their trade mark weighty feel. They will never learn it seems...
Gaffers at Gamescom need to step up their game and record that shit
Why haven't we seen any Gamescom footage? Dafuq people
Shu's not the best player and GG said you can tweak the acceleration.
People actually complaining about this? Jesus...
loloff topic: It's a shame they couldn't hit 60fps for the single player.
on topic: MIND BLOWN.
This and the confirmation of all DLC being free may just make me buy this game.
They don't have community managers?Tempy used to work there. I don't know of any present members. I'm sure they're lurking, though.

Is this why it doesn't look as good as the reveal?
lol
More developers should put this into practice since it's such a big deal to a lot of people. The vocal minority on gaming forums.
So help me God, this shit needs to stop. You guys need to understand and accept that there are a lot of people who enjoy the way KZ feels/controls; whether the lag is intentional, or a by-product or separate from the weight or the direct result of incompetent development... It doesn't matter. People like it. I don't care how it's there, I just care that GG had a vision that I love and they implemented into the brilliant shooter that was KZ2.
It's seriously getting to the point where the most believable scenario is a bunch of butt-hurt FPS veterans sucking at Killzone. I and many other GAFers dominated at this game with the default controls, so it's anything but broken. It's just different.
EDIT: Agreed on the CQC part, though
Well if they let us tweak/remove the acceleration and not just change the turning speed then it's day one for me.
Not in doubt but do you have the source? I must have missed it...
Thanks
@RecklessOnion:the ADS turn speed is still high, could we have a slider to adjust it to personal preference please" - there is
OH yeah and when the hell are we going to see more of the single player?
They've only shown one real level so far, besides that brief prologue level.
The game isn't far out now. We should've, at least, seen a new level at E3.
That difference is due to gimping people speed. The developer has changed their stance so I find it funny you're talking about butthurt and what not while they change mechanics to be more aware of what some might want. At the very least they care enough about those complaints to think the status quo needs to go. Some people in life do not feel lag or latency issueslike others do, be it slow or fast deal with it.

@PsVitaLifeStyle guerrilla warfare you can pretty much make with the custom game options. Operations won't be available in shadow fall.

I get what you're saying; if GG have changed their tune, then it obviously matters to them, but so much of the criticism seems to be levelled at measured benchmarks and tests indicating lag, etc, as if to justify their assessment that the controls are broken.
So what if lag is technically there? If this dreaded lag is what made KZ2 feel like KZ2, then I'm sure a lot of people would be loath to see it "fixed".
This line of thinking rears its ugly head in every KZ thread; I'm just a bit tired of hearing it, I guess.

I really hope Sony aren't dumb enough to gauge 3D interest off last-gen's sub-HD efforts. With 1080p becoming the norm this gen, there's plenty of reserve power to render 3D in 720p or higher.I don't think any more Sony studios are bothering with 3D, are they?! Seems like a fad which wasn't especially successful and they've all but abandoned it.
Do you truly not play games when they are 30fps or not a consistent frame rate?
Doubling the frames means that they optimized the hardware 200% of the original which is highly unlikely. Any extra power they have the would fill up with more graphical effects. Plus I remember from some mortal kombat article that doubling the frames is much harder than halving the graphical effects as some post render effects such as anti-aliasing and DoF usually take up the same amount of time.I hope the sp is 60fps too, IF they managed to double the framerate in 9 months since the original reveal it bodes well for the next batch of games coming in 2-3 years
Seems the MP is behind closed doors for the press.
Reading IGN's preview, judging by the scope of the maps from what is shown so far, and looking at the radar, it seems SUPPORT class is only to heal?
There doesn't seem to be any evidence of the Engineer role, meaning no ammo boxes, or turrets to repair
