Helping my sister set up UNO and some guy runs porn on his camera

what would the charge for 'showing porn to a three year old over a webcam'
be?

What that guy did was stupid. However, showing a 3 yearold the camera version of xbox live is like taking her to a brothel and being surprised and disgusted at what you find.
"Playing on Xbox Live is like going to a brothel" You think Microsoft should market it like this?

Seriously, you're playing open games with WEBCAM ?

I don't even play them with voice chat...

No to question the horrendous stupidity of the pc-porn guy, but c'mon...

This is exactly what I was thinking...especially when you have your 3 year old with you.

My buddy got Uno early on and used to tell me horror stories all the time. I picked the game up with the SF Uno Deck and have never even seen anything other then avatars and had a great time playing.

Your source actually provides evidence that unwarranted exposure is harmful and is mainly decrying the lack of research on the matter.

"On the other hand, there are findings from the study that do bolster
concern about harm: the ones showing that one quarter of those ex-
posed said they were very or extremely upset and one fifth had some
apparent stress symptoms that they connected to the episode."

Plus the study references children no younger than 10 years old.

The question is, why the hell are you playing UNO as a video game. IT'S A CARD GAME.

The same reason everyone else plays UNO on Xbox Live. To masturbate on cam for 3 year olds, obviously.

O.K. I prefer to do it in person.

*Edit: I couldn't leave that by itself. *shudders* This thread is getting wrong.

Of course it has. Digg caused GAF to crash once due to some thread about modding DSes. The thread had a ridiculous number of views.
Hm...I remember when Neogaf crashed. I believe it was Re5 on 360, DMC4 on 360, FFXIII on 360...

I meant that someone Digged a thread on GAF and the enormous number of views from that Digg caused GAF to crash.

Sure, lots of threads have caused GAF to crash on its own. Happens every NPD.

Oh. Yeah Digg can be a bit crazy.

not an idiot
I remember when this first came out, there were a bunch of idiots in Hardwood Spades that were posting penis pics on their camera thingy. It got to the point to where I set the option to only allow friends. I suggest you do the same. This way, when you get into a game of people you like you can add them as friends and then it will show it.

From the link: "One helpful brother explains how he was showing his sister how to play an online Xbox Live game by creating an open UNO game. His Xbox Live Vision camera was turned on - showing him, his sister, and his three-year-old daughter sitting on his lap. What happens next is unbelievable."

Not it isn't. It really isn't.

Found it. The thread was about Dice sanding down his DS and repainting it: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120209

Unfortunately it doesn't look like his photos come up anymore, which is too bad. They were horrifying.

Jump to post #167 to start reading about the thread getting Digged. It only has about 163,000 views, which isn't a whole lot for GAF, but most of those occurred within like a day, so it crashed the forum temporarily.

Well it should be unbelievable. I can't believe this kind of thing is common. Sad really :(

163,000 is LOADS for one thread! Some websites don't get that in a month!

That guy is a total douche, but why would you have the camera on with your sister or 3 year old daughter around? That is just asking for trouble. I don't use my mic much but I always, always plug it in when my kids are around just so they don't hear the racism and profanity Live offers spewing through the TV.

My first ever xbox live experience was a guy masturbating in front of his cam in UNO, and two guys showing us (it was during a gaming party) their asses.

Needless to say, I bought a 360 a few days later.
perfect. :lol

Hmm, isn't there a way to disable the in-game video chat?

in game video and voice is set to no-one by default

you have to enable it.

you can also limit it with controls for parents.

Did MS ever do anything with the gamer zones? Why would an "underground" player be matched up with a family player?

No, they haven't done shit with that stuff that I know of.

But I never have the webcam option on with UNO. I never saw what exactly it added to the game. With the Avators with animation now there is definitely no reason to do that at all.

No, just a little gimmick to make it seem more personalized. "Let gamers know how you game at a glance" type of thing, as if anyone cares.

no disrespect, but what the hell did you think would happen? I mean, I don't even have the XBLcam thing, or UNO... yet, I know damn well that the majority of Uno gamers are apparantly nudists, you should've seen this coming. :lol :lol

Not endorsing Nintendo's Friend Codes, man, but there's at least some reason why they exist: This is such a reason. Admittedly, I'd never play a game on Live where I can see the other people's cams. Bound to be some Live-based porn moguls by now.

The reason they exist is because Nintendo's online infrastructure is a bunch of 486's duct taped together, period.

MS has system in place to avoid what happened here (don't use cam) and to remove offending people. You have the choice, not so with Nintendo

I hope the sick fuck gets perma banned from LIVE, but let's never try to spin friend codes as anything but a joke....

I'm pretty sure Friend Codes will exist even after they have their online up to snuff. Nintendo really really never wants this sort of thing to happen on a service they provide.

That's pretty low sticking porn on when your little sister was there. Although at 3 she would have no idea what she was looking at(Unless she's like GAF OT members who have sex and drugs by that age).

I wouldn't call the cops, I'd report him to MS.

Then they'd better not ever release any sort of camera or microphone for their service. In other words it will forever stick to feeling like you're just playing bots. Or at least that's how I feel playing Mario Kart online on the Wii.

I've enough family and real-life friends who play it, I just put in their codes and play with them. Still fun. But yeah, if you play random? Bots basically.

They do actually have a microphone of sorts now. Use it to chat to people. Works pretty well.

What? No. His GT is publicly available information when he did it. I'm just telling people an honest experience I had with someone with that gamertag. If he doesn't like people talking about that behavior, he shouldn't act that way.

I don't see how it's any different than how newspapers get knowledge of people who had speeding tickets and other violations and post their names in the paper.... It's the same concept. Public information.

Lynch mob justice

When I played Warhammer Online, we routinely would report anyone on forums for that particular server so others could immediately set them to ignore or know to watch out for them in scenario matches. What's the difference? The guy is openly sharing this with the public; if there are members of the public who would prefer not to see this, knowing his gamertag could prove beneficial depending on how long it takes MS to ban him.

Well for one, isn't that after the person either admits guilt or is convicted?

Two, people don't have a vigilante/lynch mob mentality towards traffic ticket violators. If we heard the other guy's side of the story, and had proof that everything the OP says is correct, then that would be different. But come on, look at the big picture. All we have is the OP's word and the other guy isn't even here to give his side of it. For all we know, the OP made the whole thing up because he is mad that the other guy beat him at UNO, and wants revenge via internet justice. Lynch mob mentality FTW!
