Hillary Clinton officially launches presidential campaign

It's pretty difficult to rid yourself of the idea of being a negative party or the party of "No" when you come out negative and immediately swinging at a candidate announcement from the other side. She doesn't even need to do anything at this point, she can just high road her way into The White House.

The most scientific of all the polls.

If you are wanting a smoking gun it won't happen. But reading his own books, his own words of skepticism, and his own actions about why he joined the church for instance, suggest pretty heavily to me that he is likely deeply agnostic at the very least. That his affiliation with the church has more to do with politics and the community building aspect then a deep felt belief.

Yep

He's far too logical to not at least be agnostic.

Nader was a nonfactor, do your research please.

The Cuban radical-right was. That will be a non-factor for future presidential elections if Hillary is elected - to continue repairing our relations with the island. Cubans are naturally democrat-leaning, not right-wing leaning. In many ways there are lots of parallels with the Jewish left. Political posturing and the straining of relations allows for fear mongers, and radicalist to sway and influence.

Id like to see her climb the ladder in the senate first.

Get that LBJ type experience so when you are in the big desk you know how to navigate the challenges of getting legislation passed.

I often wonder if we would ultimately be better off if Hillary had won and Obama had been the next man up this election. Coming in with 8 years experience in Congress and a more seasoned understanding of how to get things done.
Elizabeth Warren is already 65. She's not running this year and will be too old for any future runs. People need to accept that she is never going to be president and probably doesn't even want to be.

Wonderful. I hope she can pull through this time. I know me and my mom were hoping that she would have gotten the nomination over Obama (I like Obama, my mom does not).

She really is an awful candidate, so much of the campaign will be about the truckloads money her husband was ranking in from foreign Governments whilst she was head of the state department. Just a hilariously corrupt political family, the Clintons. I doubt she'll campaign on anything other than what her opinion pollsters tell her to support anyway. What does she represent other than nepotism and the inevitability of big money?

What if I told you that whoever ends up being the republican nominee is bought too?

The way politics works in America is simple:

You either vote for Democrat or Republican. If you cast your ballot for a third party (independent or otherwise) you're simply trashing away your right to vote - effectively. In doing so, sometimes, hurting the party you're probably more aligned to in the process.

On those grounds alone, I can not vote for a republican. Their candidates make it even easier to justify it.

But dramatis just told me there are no teams and that you will be swayed to vote from all this "hard work" and not wasting money on frivolous shit like a .gop site?

Surely he can't be wrong after writing that whole message? You couldn't be proving him wrong in one quick line about how "you can not vote Repbulican?"

Nah, I'm sure you'll change your mind by all the walking around, traveling, and wasted money on signs and stickers and people calling you on your landline to remind you to vote?

That's why I'm hoping for another candidate, another unexpected underdog like Obama. Guess we'll see who runs during the primaries. I'll never vote for her in the primaries. In the general if it comes down to her or Bush, I'll have no choice but to vote for her.
Bernie Sanders 2016!

I just gave $5 to Hillary and used my Republican father’s email to send the receipt to/all of her email blasts.

Feeling good about that one tbh.

Many people died because of Nader voters. I hope people remember that

Of course those same people died "because" of Gore votes staying home; because of Bush votes; because of Gore's campaign; because of Gore and Bush's lawyers; because of the Supreme Court; because of every past President who appointed Supreme Court Justices; and because a butterfly flapped its wings in Panama.

That's why the pesticide industry is doing their darnedest to rid us of the American butterfly scourge. True patriots, that lot.

Heh.

I'm oh-so-tempted to do that to my mom. We got into a big argument about the Clintons when I was home last weekend.

My mom and dad don't vote (Jehovah's Witnesses), but at least I can be glad my mother supports gay marriage and also would have voted Obama/Hillary in the last election.

My Dad on the other hand really doesn't give a fuck politically but loved to fuck with us about how much he liked Sarah Palin for being an "everyperson."

But my Dad recently had his mind changed on the police brutality stuff after the Eric Garner incident. That made him really furious and changed his entire mind about how integrated racism is in police forces. I really smiled at this progress.

This thread reminded me that Hillaryis44 is still a thing. As far as I know they've been pretty much hard-line right wing nuts since Obama became president, yet they seem on the bandwagon for Hillary. NeoGAF even gets a shout-out in their latest update which made me laugh.

I remember the '08 election being so much fun to follow, pretty sure I was lurking on Poligaf daily back then.

Well said. Obama/Biden 2016
